The safe arrived very quickly and well packaged. I had a hard time picking the color I wanted, but eventually I chose the stormy sand color, which blends right into my closet. There's an instruction manual that comes with the safe, but video instructions are also available. I followed the First Time Operation With Keys video, and it only took me a couple minutes to set the whole thing up. The safe looks great and you can tell that it is made with some good quality metal, as it is quite heavy. The removable shelf is also great, it gives me extra storage space, but it is also flexible in the sense that I can just remove it if I want to store a large item inside. I purchased this safe for home use and it is great. It was very easy to program and fits nicely on a shelf in my master bedroom closet. The color is similar to spicy brown mustard and looks nice with the wood trim in the closet. I liked that it wasn’t black like most other safes. The size is akin to hotel room safes. Great little safe! I appreciate the shelf. I had to purchase a safe to store medications to keep our son away another attempt to overdose on meds. This little safe does the job. Conveniently fits on the counter under our four slice toaster nicely so I can easily pull meds out as needed. This would accomodate a handgun or two, with passports or special documents. Or if putting sharps away, it can accomodate a large kitchen prep knife if angled and lying flat, along with other knives. ... show more

I absolutely love this safe! I live in a densely packed NYC apartment. I decided to get the islandsafe after seeing my neighbor accidentally not locking his apartment and getting cash stolen. I love how it fits everything from important documents to fine jewelry without taking over too much space in my shoe box apartment. It looks and feels like a high quality metal (not like the cheap ones in hotels), goes well with the interior of my apartment without making so much contrast to my belongings. It has a digital lock, but with manual over ride, so one can always access the contents. It comes with anchor bolts so one can mount it on the wall. There isn't a good visual-frame-of-reference (to show how large this safe is, actually) on the Amazon site. As it arrived very quickly, I see now that it is well made for the price and, so I gave it a 5 star. It is a great value, if you are looking for a good deal of storage space.
