Plagued by Iron Deficiency for over 30 years, I was hoping to get a read on my current level, as lately I've been experience fatigue and mild dizziness and wanted to figure out if I should increase my supplement intake. This is test is only $20, arrived quickly, claims to be 99.5% accurate with results within 15 minutes. This was a great idea until I realized I had to puncture my own finger and somehow squeeze my uncooperative blood into a little dropper while also pinching the bulb end said-dropper. It was tricky to do by myself, but I'm not very coordinated, so YMMV. Results were quick and better than I had expected. Not sure I'll be brave enough to do this again, but definitely a nice option to do this test at home, if you need to check your iron! ... show more

I'm not sure what to think about this product. I didn't use the lancets provided because they felt uncomfortable to use. The pipette didn't really do that great of a job (admittedly, my blood that day felt extra watery, so that could have been more of the problem). Ultimately, the 3 stars are because I didn't feel like my results were particularly clear. One half was one color and the other half a different color. As many other people have mentioned, you do have to prick your finger to get a drop of blood for this test. I had no idea so many people were averse to this, and if you are also then this test is not for you. I was looking high and low for an inexpensive at-home iron test so I don't have to go to the doc for bloodwork more often than necessary. I don't mind the needles, I do hate taking time off and waiting and waiting to get in. It took less than 5 minutes to read the directions and take the test. It really is only a single prick and the 1st lancet worked fine although there is a backup just in case. I found this test to be reliable, showing that I'm mildly anemic which is in line with my bloodwork from the doctor. So I can use this to monitor in-between visits! ... show more

Test seemed easy to use. Nicely packaged. Be careful using the pipet. They can be tricky. Be aware that this is a single test.

I got it for checking my iron deficiency and it is really easy to use. But of course I need to make myself bleed with lancet then I can check.
