  • This Will take your Chest to the Next Level !!
Tension Level: 120lbs
In my opinion this a great product that give great results 👍 I'm a fan of well built unique equipment like this and let me tell you this is a Must buy if you love working on your chest as a beginner or pro this feels like 2 exercises in1 because your going from like a normal push up to a cable pull and guess what that pull makes all the difference when you contract the chest. I love the fact that you can adjust the handles and resistance bands . Not to mention storage capability this thing is easy to save space wherever you are or choose to put it it's that convenient. I highly recommend this but if you really want to shape and sculpt your chest get the 1 that cost more with the extra black bands because you need a nice amount of a heavy over load to make that chest come out and shape to get the definition..so overall great product it can be a little rough on the hands though when you go through a few sets but that's not a big issue just use gloves i highly recommend the iron chest master !!🙌💪😎 ... show more

  • Great Machine, but...
Tension Level: 60lbs
Even though the machine is light-weight and well-built (sturdy), and even though the design is sleek and the machine works great, I (reluctantly) gave it 3 stars. Here's why... After using the machine with all six resistance bands connected, I decided to do some drop-sets. So I removed two bands and did several reps. I then removed two more bands and did several more reps. I then replaced all of the bands and started over. During this simple procedure, I discovered a major problem that frustrated me so much that I returned the machine for a refund. During my drop-sets, when I removed the resistance bands and/or re-connected them, the “screws” in the ends of the bands would fall out. That's right! There are “screws” in the ends of the bands instead of balls or clamps. I used the machine several times, and it happened every time I changed the resistance. So, when the screws would fall inside the machine, I would have to turn the machine upside down and shake it to get the screws to fall out. And once they fell out onto my carpet, I had to dig around in my carpet to find them. Once I found them, I had to insert them again into he ends of the bands. This happened again and again and again... So I spent more time looking for the screws (and re-inserting them into the ends of the bands) than I did training. But before I returned the machine to Amazon, I visited the IronChestMaster.com website. I sent two email messages (from the "Contact Us link) explaining my problem and frustration. I also stated that if they had a “solution,” to let me know and I would be glad to keep the machine. I waited for a reply, but received none for either email. I even left my phone number with each email. I also contacted them via Amazon, but again...no response. I liked the machine so much, that I went one step further. I went online to see if I could find resistance bands made by other companies that might work with the Iron Chest Master. I was going to spend additional funds (out of my own pocket) just to get the machine to work properly (when changing resistance). Although I found several kinds of resistance bands, none were of appropriate size for the Iron Chest Master. Ron Williams (inventor of the ICM and owner of the ICM website) is a “stand-up” guy. I came to this conclusion simply by reading through his website and by watching his video. He's undoubtedly one of the good guys online. And he's put a lot of work into the design of the machine, among other things. But since I couldn't get anyone's attention about this problem (a problem that may include others who have purchased the machine), I figured a 3 star review might do it. If the band design is ever changed, I'll order the machine again (and update my review). It is one of the best pieces of training equipment that I have ever purchased – and over the years, I've purchased and used a lot of them. I'm not a novice at body-weight training. I'll be 71 this December, and I've been training for decades. To see my story: Google “50 Years of Pull Ups”. ... show more

  • Highly recommend. Way better than expected, but room for improvement if there's a V2
Tension Level: 120lbs
Rarely review anything, but this machine intrigued me and was so much better than expected that I felt compelled. First of all, if you buy this it shouldn't wind up in the corner with the rest of the equipment you bought and didn't use. Small footprint, no setup time and very easy to use and, most importantly, surprisingly effective, so there's little room for excuses. Will it replace a bench and a full weight rack? No. But for a home gym it's an excellent addition for a quick workout or supplemental exercise. The only things I'd improve on are: The ability to add more than one band per "slot." Rather than just red or black, why not make the slots deeper, make the unit a little stronger, and allow up to 6 bands on each side? Seems like an obvious function, but maybe there's a physical limitation or maybe it's just a money grab to force the purchase of the chest strap. The other thing I'd improve on is make the handle turnable by 90º so you can do neutral grip pushups. That would also more closely resemble a typical cable or dumbbell fly and target the chest slightly differently. Other than that, I highly recommend. Note: the comment someone left about needing "screws" to adjust bands and how hard it is to do drop sets is unwarranted in my opinion. If you want to do a drop set, you can just move the grips one slot closer and it's a quick swap in and out. I highly doubt the 2" total move inward will throw off your form so greatly that you can't manage and have to return the whole thing. ... show more

  • This machine actually works!
Tension Level: 60lbs
I am 62 years old going on 73 due to a lifetime of overindulgence (but with good results). I also stand at 5'7" weighing 156 pounds and much too mortally tired for hardcore exercising: I need easy. No matter what I've done to maintain decent fitness without a lot of struggle, nothing has stopped my chest from sagging. So I purchased the Ron Williams Iron Chest Master Push Up Machine (60 lb) and people let me tell you, this machine actually works! It's been almost three months now and lately my wife has been giving me that old familiar stare. You know the look, fellas... it means you're looking a little too good for your own good... YES! BE PATIENT and keep it simple! I use the machine 3 different ways horizontally, 3 to 6 times per week, laying flat on the bed with feet (almost) touching the floor; over head, over chest and across thighs. In each position, I keep my arms fully extended to prevent benefiting my arms more than my chest. Remember to inhale and exhale in harmony with each contraction. The 60 pounder is so easy to use that it's easy to forget about breathing. EASY ... show more
