I’m very impressed with these construction shoes! They are comfortable, sturdy, and perfect for long hours on the job. The fit is great, and they provide excellent support while walking and standing. The construction feels durable and well-made, and the shoes have a good grip that gives me confidence when working on different surfaces. They are also comfortable enough to wear throughout the entire workday without making my feet feel overly tired. Overall, these are great work shoes that offer a nice combination of comfort, durability, and practicality. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable shoes for construction or other demanding jobs! ... show more

  • Even better than the photo!
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Brown
I purchased these for my 17 year old son for Christmas, and let’s just say I definitely got MOMofTHEYEAR2025. He absolutely loved them. I was super happy with this purchase because the quality of the boot is exceptional. There was no skimping on the materials used to make this boot. I thought the color might be too dark, but in person, it just the right shade of brown and looks very well polished. I was worried it might look orange but it was nowhere close to that. It’s the perfect shade of brown you’d expect to see on a man’s boot. Their functionality was as expected; doing its job of protecting the feet while say cleaning up the backyard of brush and walking back and forth. The material thickness, in my opinion, was a good amount. Not to thick, but not too thin. The weather in my area can get pretty hot, and even though it was winter when I bought them, the weather was still above 75 degrees. So these boots made them a good fit by keeping feet warm but not sweaty. My son has wide feet and I considered getting the wide shoes bc they come in both regular and wide; but I opted for the regular. He said they fit comfortable, as some shoes are tight around the ball of the feet (bottom of foot underneath the toes). So if you’re trying to decide on which ones, I’d try the regular ones first. Plus the leather will conform to your feet once you break them in. They didn’t seem chemically or plastic-y, they did smell like a good quality leather, but not overwhelming. He has flat feet and usually complains about his feet hurting with other shoes that have no arch support, but he’s been wearing these everyday and I haven’t heard one complaint. All in all this momma is one happy customer! Get you some, if you can. You might get FOMO if you don’t. ... show more

  • They’re a good pair of boots but not perfect. I would still recommend trying.
Size: 9.5 Color: Brown
They are some pretty great boots. I’ve had them for a couple months now, and they a very comfortable. The inner soles of the boot are made of polyurethane, and are a little stiff but still very comfortable. I have actually been wearing them out more than my sketchers tennis shoes. They are very flexible, and feel a lot like wearing normal tennis shoes. I have noticed that because the leather is soft, they get scuffed up pretty easily though. I am a car enthusiast who works on his own cars, and have gone through a lot of shoes before deciding to just buy boots. I’m very rough on shoes and frequently wear holes on the heels and in the sides because of having to slide around on the concrete and underneath cars. They do seem like they will last a lot a lot longer than any other shoes I’ve had, but I definitely think it is on the softer side for a work boot. This is the reasoning I have for giving it 4/5. They are overall a very good pair of boots and I would buy them again. If you need a boot on a budget I’d still recommend these ones. ... show more

  • So far so good.
Size: 14 Color: Brown
So far so good, only been wearing them a few days now so my feet are still getting used to the support level, moved from a hiking type shoe to a work boot hoping to get better support and longevity. The leather is surprisingly soft and pliable right out of the box, they fit well, and they look nice. Had a 12 hour day in them yesterday and my feet weren't the sorest part of my body (walk around on hard surfaces average 7-10 miles a day). If they maintain comfort and hold up, the four star may become a five. Update: 6 months in the four star did become a 5 star. These seem to get more comfortable every day, the leather is pretty supple now, and other than having to get one of them stretched to accommodate a large foot, which is hardly the boots fault, they've been great. Just clean and oil them every three months or so, takes 10 minutes and it keeps the leather from drying out and water resistant. They also look brand new every time you're done, been using the sofsole mink oil, works really well. UPDATE: I've had these boots for about 8 months now and they have broken in very nicely. I did have to get one of them stretched a little (left foot is wider than my right foot), but that was no big deal. I walk around on hard surfaces all day (7-9 miles a day) and these boots have kept my feet in pretty good shape. They are getting close to needing a re-sole and I will definitely do that as opposed to getting a new pair, even thought the price isn't that different the leather has gotten so soft and supple I don't want to get rid of them. I find if you oil them regularly (1-2 months) they stay looking pretty new and supple. Great boot, going to get another pair for my camping and fishing trips. ... show more

  • Comfortable and stylish
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Brown
I recently decided to purchase a pair of work boots. Not wanting to spend too much money on a high priced pair of Red Wings to destroy, I did some research and came across the Irish Setter brand, which is the entry brand for Red Wings. The requirements were that it had to have a Goodyear welt (for durability) and have little to no break in period. These boots check those marks. The leather feels strong but is not uncomfortable. They have been getting more comfortable as I wear them. The insole is fiberboard I believe, covered with a comfortable insert that is removable/replaceable with a new or orthopedic one. Since they are made by Red Wing Shoes, I visited a local store to try them on. They did not have the style I wanted so I purchased them through Amazon. I’m usually a 10 in shoes (although it may vary by a half size) and settled on a 9.5 wide. The toe box is plenty spacious and they are not long to where it looks like I am wearing clown shoes. Overall very impressed. I do wish these had a leather midsole (rather than plastic which could crack) but for the price, the omission is understandable. I have seen several videos on YouTube of these boots being re-soled and modified to have a leather midsole. If these last, I may just purchase a new pair rather than attempting repair. These are stylish but also ready for work right out of the box. The only downside I have encountered is the laces. They seem to have a bit of give after being tied to where I feel they loosen a bit throughout the day. I’m not sure if it’s the way I walk or tie them. I replaced them with leather laces I had and have not had that issue. ... show more

  • I set these boots free. They never came back.
Size: 13 Color: Brown
A few weeks ago I bought a pair of Irish Setter 83605 (Ashby) boots, which I kinda sorta love. But not exactly. At first they felt a little big. I normally wear a 12.5, except that nobody actually makes shoes in 12.5, so I never really wear it. Instead I buy either a 12 or 13, and they are inevitably either a bit large or a bit small. Sometimes a hair, and sometimes several hairs. But either way, they never fit right. Except for running shoes, which always fit when I buy 13. But I'm a gentleman, and as such I don't wear running shoes while I'm running errands. That's insane. So I wore the boots around the house for a week, and I thought that maybe, just maybe, these would be the ones. I loved the look. They were reminiscent of the Timberlands I owned as a kid, except way more classy and perhaps even more functional. I loved them. But I wasn't convinced. So I ordered another pair of boots from a different brand (I won't mention names here; let's keep things civilized) and those boots did not fit right either. So now I was faced with an impossible decision: keep the boots that don't fit, or the boots that don't fit. I asked for opinions. My wife liked the boots from Brand X. My friend liked the boots from Brand X. But I wasn't sold. In fact, neither was my sister. We were the Rebel Alliance in this story. And like Luke and Leia, we knew that we were right. After buying and returning two more pairs of boots, I decided to keep my Ashby boots. I wore them all around the house, trying them on once I got home from work, taking them off once I had to go outside, and occasionally wearing them in our no-shoes basement because I knew how clean they were. But then I decided to take them outside, because I knew that they were the right boots for me. I held them up towards the light, kissed them, and said "let's go do important stuff." The story turns tragic at this point. If you cry easily, please stop reading here. The boots started to break in. They started coming into their own. They started to take life. And that was the moment they stopped belonging to me. They just don't fit me now. They were slightly too big to begin with, but after adding an additional insole, heavy socks, and new laces, everything seemed to be working between us. And once they stepped out of the house, they never came back. They are still in my closet, mind you. I know where they are. But in spite of how close we are, I have never felt further away. I wish these fit me. I want to love them. Well, honestly, I want to return them for size 12. But I wore them outside, and now I am stuck with boots that don't fit. I tried. I really did. But the boots just don't love me like I love them. ... show more
