So I got these to carry in the bed of my truck. I was not expecting them to be as good quality as they are. The have seals around the lid so that helps them keep out dirt and water. The size is great, they fit nicely under my retractable tonneau cover box. Gives me the flexibility I want to carry items I might need without taking up precious cab space. These bins are a decent size (will hold 8½"×11" papers) with positive clicking locking handles. Easy to carry regardless of what's in them, and will fit perfectly on those black wire shelves, longwise front to back. I bought this a while ago and it shipped in the original IRIS box and everything was fine. I needed more, so I ordered another 6-pack. Amazon — in their drive to engage in brand marketing above customer satisfaction — placed the IRIS box (labeled FRAGILE) inside another, larger, floppy (we're using LESS cardboard!) box (that uses MORE cardboard than shipping just the manufacturer box!!!) that had no indication that the over-wrapped contents were fragile, so it was clearly abused during handling (no FRAGILE stamp, after all) and predictably got damaged. I filed for a return, because I still need these bins. The replacement bins arrived MORE BROKEN THAN THE ONES I RETURNED! Amazon... if you're listening... STOP PUTTING BOXES IN BOXES just to have an Amazon logo on it! (Or at least figure out how to make your box-making robots see the FRAGILE indicator on the box and subsequently apply a FRAGILE sticker on the (totally excess therefore wasted cardboard) box you put the manufacturer box in. You're wasting my time, your money, and creating excess waste in both superfluous cardboard AND broken merchandise!!! Time to see if this product is available elsewhere, because I still need the bins. ... show more

I was excited about the fact that these bins don’t taper toward the bottom. I dislike that I loose storage space in other bins because they taper. I need 20 of these bins for the overhead shelves in my garage and I want them to all match. I’ve ordered 6 boxes with four bins in each box and I’ve sent three boxes of four bins back. The ones that were damaged were mostly lids. Plastic pieces that somehow were snapped off. The lids were otherwise in tact and may have been useable, but I’m not going to pay full price for damaged goods. Another common issue was damaged latches. The latches were broken in one end or another. Another issue I have with these bins is that the latches fit into the base of the bin with two small pieces of the plastic that protrude from the latch and are supposed to fit into holes in the base of the bin. On some of the bins, the holes aren’t even there, so the likelihood that the latch would always stay in place is little to none. Some of the holes are so close to the edge that it wouldn’t take much to pull the latch enough that the plastic could split. And on some of the bins, that’s what happened. Last of all, the process of sending these back is fairly simple, but I have to send four back even if two or three of them are in perfectly good shape. And it takes several weeks to be refunded even thought they know the delivery people have already picked them up. All of this trouble and I still don’t have 20 working bins. And they raised the price since my last attempt! I paid a total of $127 plus change per box the first six times. If I order some more it will now cost me $140! ... show more

TL;DR - Great product but expect broken/cracked lids. First things first, I can guarantee the lids will be cracked. It happens in shipping. I've ordered this twice and both times the lids were cracked. However, they were mostly still able to be used for the weatherproof. There was just one that it was cracked on the very top so it made the weatherproofing null. Otherwise, these stand up pretty well outside. I live in FL and between the humidity and rain, they still stay dry inside. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of the product always coming damaged and trying to get a simple replacement lid is out of the question. I don't want to return the whole thing for just one lid. Instead that one container will just have to remain inside. ... show more
