I bought a very similar design for more money directly from Irene House. This chair is comfortable enough sitting or slightly reclining but becomes very uncomfortable when mostly or fully reclined. I was in an accident and had to sleep in my recliner for over a month. The place where the top and seat separate as it reclines has a bar or something very hard that digs into your back. It’s miserable. Other family members used it during illnesses and said the same. Just be sure to try it out fully reclined while still in the return period, to make sure it works for you. UPDATE- Irene House saw this review and reached out. They had me send photos to see if they could help with a solution. Unfortunately they were weren’t able to but they were very responsive and prompt and went the second mile. ... show more

I bought this chair because I am infirm and spend many hours in it. I am a large man 62 220 pounds. So no matter the strength of construction, I can really put it to the test. I started noting that the back of the chair was tilting, because of my weight and seat or starting to be not source supportive. I sent Irene house pictures and a receipt and they called me to tell me that they were replacing the back and the seat. I was pretty amazed that like most companies, they didn’t fight and make a go through all kinds of steps and hurdles to get your equipment repaired I really enjoyed doing business with them and I recommend anybody else. Ordered this recliner as I'm planning my second surgery for total right shoulder replacement. My fairly new, but older recliner was a great chair for my recuperation, but the foot lift lever was on the bottom right. I needed a chair with controls that could be used on either side and this chair fit my needs exactly. I looked long and hard for chairs and am so glad I got this one. It's comfortable, controls are easy to use, and the chair is beautiful. I had an issue with the delivery time and customer service was awesome.
