The Irene House 9196 lift recliner is impressive. Build quality is great. The dual motors (built in Germany), are smooth and move all surfaces with ease. Motors are ultra quiet as are the massage functions. Lumbar heat is spot on. Cover material is not leather but feels and looks like leather and the heavy duty stitching looks great and high quality. The chair easily lifts my 250 pounds to a near standing position and the recline function allows great positions for sleep or TV watching. The many massage selections allow the user to hit the lumbar area, upper mid-back area separately or together. I find this lift recliner to be a great value for the money. Easy to put together, you will need a strong young person to move the heavy base box, one of two. I highly recommend this recliner.

Really good quality chair thats super comfortable and looks great. I'm 64 years old, 5'11 185lbs. I've had 13 spinal surgeries and two total hip replacements. Even thou I have a really good bed, I still don't sleep well. And getting up out of recliners is difficult. This one the seat hight is higher than the rest which I like. The chair fits me great, functions well, and the motors are really quiet. The first nite I got it, I only got awake for like 10 seconds and went right back to sleep. My first good nites sleep in over 22 years! This will be my go to chair for sitting & sleeping! I never had to reposition myself, wake up sore, or even use a pillow! Amazing. Watching TV, I push a button and I'm good again. No more adjusting pillows, getting sore, or having a hard time getting up. I'm so impressed, I just ordered another for a backup and ditching my Lazy Boy duel recliner couch! The extra one will go next to this one in my living room. Because of the quality, they will look really nice together. When the chair is down, it just looks like an expensive recliner. You'd never tell it was a lift chair. Now just have to see how it holds up long term, but judging from the sturdiness, construction, heavy/thick thread stitching, and fabric, it should be good. And I really like the color. By back and body can't thank me enough! The cousions are firm but comfortable. They feel like they will hold up well, keep their shape and keep it looking new, not sag or sink in after use. Everything I've read, you can buy less expense lift/recliners but you also get what you pay for. I knew I was going to be using this chair a lot! For sitting and sleeping day in and day out so I was good with that. Even the two OKIN motors they use in this chair received good reviews. I've read that these motors are used by other company's in expensive chair and bed lifts. For only having it two days, one nites sleep and two naps, and I just ordered another. I'm that impressed and I didn't want to miss the $100 off going away.

My wife has back problems and wanted a power lift chair with massage and heat. We both this Irene chair. The chair requires some assembly. It's made in China. We bought the model that's covered with faux leather. Unlike a lot of products from China, directions for assembly were pretty good. But the video on "how to put the chair together" on Amazon(the site from which we bought it were really good--and recommended for chair buyers. Functions of the chair, including heat on the back and massage of the back work well and have a separate control. Movement of the chair back and movemnt of the chair to horizontal also work well. It's worth noting that two motors power the unit: i) controls the horizontial movement of the chair back and ii) there's a separate motor for the leg rest. Seems maybe trivial but helps in "individual-iziing" movements and maximizing comfort. It's also worth mention that the chair arrived in two boxes. One weighing about 47 lbs and the 2nd weighing appx 110 lbs. At this point of life, it's difficult to bend over and lift 110 lbs from the floor. Again, the instructional video that comes with the chair on Amazon is helpful in terms of how to manage the 'big box.' I think the problems of handling a big box will be often a problem with other chairs--but it's something you may want to consider--particularly if you are 'up in years', have back problems or other health issues that could be a problem. Bottom line, I'd buy the chair again. I'm a healthy and relatively fit individual. My back still worksand I had the chair placed(unassembled) in the room in which I wanted it to be permanently located. Grade B--but I'm not for sure there is a Grade A chair around. Assembly is the reason I say that.

After researching many different chairs I decided on buying from Irene House because of their great reviews. Im not disappointed. The assembly was easy, no tools even required. The material was better than expected. I’m hoping it will be durable and last a long time. It came with a pillow and a pad for the seat; I thought it would have to be ordered extra but it came with it. The motor is very quiet, it moves very smoothly. The heat works very well, as does the massage feature. You can really change it up with all the different options it has. It’s a bit more narrow than I’d like, my dog likes to sit next to me but there is no room for her with this chair, bshe will just sit on the arm or in my lap and that’s fine. Overall, I pleasantly surprised. I just had a knee replacement and it’s very helpful, I can’t get in and out of my old style chair without a lot of pain. It’s better than expected and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the chairs offered by Irene House.
