Description

Drip acclimation is a commonly used method for acclimating a wide range of marine critters to a new environment. The duration and drip rate required for acclimation can vary depending on the species of animal and the difference in water parameters between the old and new environment. Here are some general guidelines for drip acclimation for different marine critters: Fish Drip acclimation for fish usually takes around 30 minutes to an hour. The drip rate should be adjusted so that it is not too fast, as this can stress the fish. During the acclimation process, the water temperature should be monitored closely, as sudden changes in temperature can be harmful to fish. Invertebrates Invertebrates such as shrimp, crabs, and snails should be drip acclimated for at least an hour or longer, depending on the species. The drip rate should be slower than for fish, usually around 1-2 drops per second. Invertebrates are sensitive to changes in water chemistry, so the water parameters should be monitored closely during the acclimation process. Corals Drip acclimation for corals can take several hours, or even up to a day in some cases. The drip rate should be very slow, usually around 1 drop per second or less. Corals are very sensitive to changes in water chemistry, so it is important to monitor the water parameters closely during the acclimation process. Anemones Anemones should be drip acclimated for at least 2-3 hours, or longer if possible. The drip rate should be slow, usually around 1 drop per second or less. Anemones are sensitive to changes in water chemistry and temperature, so these should be monitored closely during the acclimation process.

  • Easy siphoning, great price.
This is a great product. I always hated having to dip my hands into the fish tank and spin my acclimation tubing for ten minutes underwater to start the siphon. Now I can start acclimating my fish in seconds, and I don't even have to touch the water. I do however find it a little difficult to adjust the drip rate since the slide bar keeps moving around when I try to adjust. Overall, a great product. ... show more

  • Who knew that something so simple could be such a time saver
Even though this product is super simple and inexpensive, it works exactly as expected and saves a lot of time. I don't have to worry about sucking on the tube and getting salt water in my mouth because the primer bulb automatically starts the flow of water. I also like that you can control how fast the water drips so that you can slowly acclimate your fish. Getting the acclimation process started is so much quicker with this product. I highly recommend getting it. ... show more

  • Perfect tool for any tank
Works great and fits tanks with a euro brace. Very easy to put together and easy to use, a could squeezes and you're acclimating your new pet.

  • Works Alright; Good for My Shrimp Tank
It's a bit difficult to get a siphon started, since the little manual pump is kind of weak, but once I get it going, it works well until its job is done (or until the water level it's drawing from gets too low for the intake hose to reach 😅). It's been very helpful with acclimating my shrimp to their new tank, and also with slowly adding new water to the aquarium during small water changes. I like that the acclimation tube comes with an adjustment wheel so I can control the drip rate easily. Pretty handy tool! ... show more

  • It gets the job done
Works great and no issues so far

  • Could be better but does the job
Great to acclimate fish and shrimp. I like the adjustable drip and the item is durable. I couldn't get it primed with the bulb and ending up giving a little suck to get it going but the water goes into the bulb first so none goes into your mouth or you could use a plunge syringe. Wish it worked better as that is a main selling point over other items but it does the job and the cost is decent. ... show more

  • Not for every tank build
It was too short and was just not for my tank set up.

  • Must have
It’s a must have if you have any type of aquarium! Easy to store under a cabinet or with other aquarium stuff. The quality is good. It’s just a curved plastic tube on the top to hang on any tank and it’s connected to a basic air line tube.
