This watch isn't too big or small. Its just the right size. It features a Seiko NH35A Automatic movement which also has hacking and hand winding. The lume is pretty good, not as good as my Seiko watches, but better then my Casio watches by a long shot. Build quality is really nice for the money, the band isn't made from solid links but having said that they also don't have visible fold marks or even gaps that I can see. This means you dont have to worry about hair getting caught in the band. The rotating bezzel feels a little stiff to move as it should be while also feeling smooth as its turned. The clicks are audible and not cheap sounding. The crown is large and easy to manipulate plus the threads feel smooth. I was able to buy a mint Gold and Silver version of this watch at a thrift store for $40 that's what turned me on to buy this watch. I liked it so much and was so impressed with its build quality that I had to have another! My Silver and gold Invicta has been on my wrist for the last three weeks. In that time its been worn in the shower everyday and only taken off to dry my wrist. Its not lost or gained a minute yet! I'm sure this watch will last me for years to come and so will my used Invicta. I'm a fan of the Invicta brand and also a fan of their packaging and build quality, which at this price point is amazing and will give any Seiko, Citizen or higher end Casio a run for the money! Go buy one of these and stop listening to all the haters out there. Invicta builds a solid watch that will give any watch in the same price range a good run. After 2 months of ownership: - Original bracelet is good, I prefer mine with a nylon one like in the photo. - Accuracy out of the box of +2 secs per day. - Good finishing. - The glass is mineral, no scratches yet.     • Chinese version of a Japanese Seiko NH35 Movement
Color: Black (Model 17044)
This is newest version of this watch. You can find others that look the same with different model numbers. This watch is made in Malaysia or China, not Japan. Mine does not say Japan on it anywhere. The rotor is marked with "NH35A" which is a legal, licensed Asian copy of a Japanese made Seiko NH35. My jeweler is FROM China. He identified the parts as being of Chinese origin. He inspected it and said it was filthy, full of dust and the parts had finger prints on it. Evidently they are constructed in dirty, dusty sweat shops in China and Malaysia. They cost less than $20 to make. Note, no sapphire crystal or ceramic bezel; or machine screws for the bracelet. Only cheap pins. Calling this a "Japanese Movement" is stretching things beyond the max. It is a cheap Asian COPY of a Japanese movement. My jewel said that real Japanese Seko parts are NOT interchangeable. If the movement goes belly up (ie the rotor breaks), you have to buy a new watch. Can't get parts for it. It is always telling when the manufacturer, Invicta, gives this watch as having an MSRP of $749 on their website. What a joke. My watch ran 20 seconds fast every 24 hours, for several weeks. I had already gone to the trouble to size it. I had compliments on it. I looked up the NH35A. It is supposed to keep great time ONCE it is adjusted properly. Twenty five dollars in cash and less than 24 hours later, and my watch had been adjusted. My jeweler kept disparaging the movement, saying that there was no guarantee he could give me great results. But, read on. He said it was not worth cleaning because of the cost and the process could actually make things worse. So, I went for just the adjustment. At first, I was extremely upset. It ran 30 seconds a day SLOW for two days. I decided to let it "settle in". It did. It lost only 3 seconds and has stayed at -3 seconds for the last 48 hours. THAT I can live with! I am so pleased. Finally! BTW, I have my PC sync'd with the ATOMIC clock every 24 hours. Bing search how to do that. It involves going into the registry. Not scary. I use "time.nist.gov" for my internet time. I have a second smaller clock that shows GMT. I had no idea until recently this was so easy to do. Bing is your friend. Why didnt I just send the watch back and get another? Well, I had sized it, then removed EVERY pin in the bracelet, and then Loctited them all in place. I have had these pins work loose in the past. Nice trick: Pound/tap your pins out on a roll of duct tape lying flat on the table. You will thank me for that tip later. No need to fully remove each pin when Loctiting. I used the blue medium strength on BOTH ends of each pin. I read that the NH35A is still a decent/good movement. It is hard to adjust, but it IS capable of great accuracy in the 2-3 second a day range. I may be getting even better than that. My jeweler is GOOD! Modest too. It was a gamble for me that really payed off. I was pretty upset for a while. On any given day over the last three weeks I could have rated this watch as low two stars! I have $105 into it now, but so far I still think it was a bargain. I do like the polished center links. It is actually better looking than a real Rolex Sub. Too bad it does not have a ceramic bezel. I would pay $150 for a version that did. But for the price you can buy one of these every two years for the rest of your life. Lost/stolen? NO PROBLEM! So, in spite of all the hassle and added expense, I have a Three and a half Star watch for about 100 bucks that keeps Five Star time. The average then, is FOUR STARS. Does that make sense? LMK if this review was helpful. Hopefully not TLDR. P.S. More advice on adjusting the bracelet(it is NOT called a "band") watches have metal "bracelets" or leather, fabric, or resin/rubber "straps". If taking out multiple links, make sure the bracelet is balanced after you are done. The clasp should be directly in the middle of your wrist on the bottom. I did not do mine properly and my bracelet was skewed to one side. So, I had to re do it. That is also when I Loctited everything. I was counting on the NH35A movement being adjusted well. I waited a few months before writing this review to be absolutely sure this watch can hold its own. Here's the verdic... It is a quality watch!! The first thing I did was go down to the beach and snorkel for an hour. I didn't dry the watch and left it in the sun. It didn't rust! The next weekend I went scuba down to 100 meters with a few buddies. It didn't leak even after 45 minutes. I have sweated a ton with it while running and cycling, have dropped it, unintentionally of course, a few times. No scratches on the glass! The dive bezel is hard at first but after some good use it's just perfect. I can rotate it with one hand instead of two when I first got it. It is a bit hard when it arrives. Packaging is yellow box. Nice box nothing too showy. The price tag was left on which said retail $750 which I didn't believe but after a few online shopping sites I believe it sells for $300 retail. Of course I didn't pay that much for mine. I didn't even broke $100 for my watch. The clamp is stamped. Looks a bit cheap but has the logo so I don't want to replace. It isn't a SCUBA watch, at least from the mark it left on my wrist with the suit but it does keep the water out at 190 meters which was my last dive. I don't recommend it for deeper dives. I do want to replace the band to a better extending divers band that way I can use my divers suit correctly instead of folding the sleeve. It says twenty some jewels but I only see 3 :) so hopefully the others are in there somewhere lol. Anyways good but I recommend it! ... show more

This is a nice-looking homage to the Rolex Submariner for under $100. It is clearly branded Invicta on the dial and in large letters on the case, so it is not fraudulent. The movement is the very common Seiko NH35A used by hobbyists and microbrands. The little Invicta badge on the seconds hand is kinda cool. Would I like to have a Submariner? Yes. Would this ever keep me from buying a Submariner? No. It is not a Submariner. The NH35A in this specific watch is running at +2 s/d, Amp 265, and beat error 3 ms. Within spec and pretty good for a watch that at this price they can't spend any time regulating. Nice watch that you don't have to worry too much about if you lose it or damage it. Unless you or a friend can service it, it would probably be more affordable to replace it. ... show more

High quality automatic watch at a price you cannot beat. Mine is very accurate -- loses about 3 seconds per day. Winding mechanism is very good and keeps watch going after 24 hours of no activity. Illumination is not very good; can't read the watch after being in dark for two hours. My Seiko's stay bright all night. Still, for a little over $100 this is a great deal. Have received several compliments on it. Most folks mistake it for Rolex. I think I have an average sized wrist and I had to remove four links. Removing the links was not that difficult. Youtube has some good primers on this, and one can be found at [...]. Highly recommend this watch for anyone who wants a good-quality, classic-looking automatic watch that does not break the bank. Update: After a year and a half the watch started to lose time. It now loses over an hour per day. The watch will perform well during its warranty period but may not last much past that. ... show more
