Description
The Invacare 9000 SL Wheelchair features dual axle positions for various seat-to-floor heights for user comfort, and "no flex" wheels with urethane rear tires offer superior performance. This model has a 18" x 16" frame and height adjustable desk-length space-saver arms make this chair more convenient, 8" front casters and 24" rear wheels with composite handrims. Many years ago we used this collapsible wheel chair for Grandmother. It was a solid product. Somehow in the intervening years we lost the chair. Now, years later, we find ourselves in need of a chair – this was our choice. The current model is exceptionally well made and requires no assembly (except attaching the foot rests which simply snap in), If you need a well made chair that is sturdy and collapsible this is the one for you. I bought this wheelchair to replace the one my mom previously had. This wheelchair is great. It sits and inch and a half taller than her previous one which makes it easier to transition her to and from the wheelchair and I don't have to hunch over to wheel her around. It has bigger thicker front wheel which are a dream come true. I no longer have to turn her around in order to go over a threshold of a doctor's office; they just go over them like nothing. The front wheel don't tend to go to the sides on their own like the old one did. The two sides go up on each side to make transitioning better and they allow the wheelchair to easily go up to a table for her to eat or to do a puzzle. This is way better than them going entirely off like the other one had to. It is lightweight for me to pick up and put it into my car. The only thing that stops me from giving this wheelchair 5 stars is that the leg rests DO NOT come with the wheelchair and you have to pay extra for them. One person answers the question if they come with it and they say that they do. They are incorrect.

This wheelchair was exactly what we ordered to replace a previous one that cost about twice as much (same model). It was delivered immediately and in great condition. The previous wheelchair held up well with some adjustments needed over time to tighten the screws. The armrests do need to be replaced every year or so if used daily. We ordered another one so we could have one for travel. It is lightweight and folds easily. My mom loves the comfort and ease of this wheelchair. The height is adjustable to fit different people. She definitely recommends this brand and model of wheelchair.

I love this chair. It is lightweight compared to most, i was happy it DIDNT come with foot rests. I had a foot sling made. very easy to maneuver with or without the arm rests in place. Just need to upgrade the tires for my liking :)

I bought this chair to use around the house, mostly. It also has gone to some of my doctor appointments, but outside of the house, I usually use my power chair. I bought this chair in May, 2022. In the first couple of months, the armrest fell off. The left brake was too hard for me to use. I could only pull it up a bit, so I never knew if it would hold. Now, the brake has snapped off somewhere and is useless. So I’m living with only one brake! And now my seat is stretched to the point that I’m sitting on the frame! I only weigh about 125 to 130 pounds. It’s hard to believe that all of these things went wrong. This wheelchair is only one-and-a-half years old!!! I do not recommend this chair. So disappointed. ☹️ Updated a few weeks later: We took the wheelchair out of the car, and before I could get in, the left front wheel fell off! It was the final straw. Goodbye you piece of junk!

I've owned 1 Invacare wheelchairs in 30 years. My first one last most of that time. It took the camp fire to do that wheelchair in. I recently bought my 2nd chair and I'm impressed with the way it looks and rides. When I looking for this chair I assume by the pictures it came with leg rest. I was disappointed to open the box and couldn't find foot rest. I went back to my order and at the very end of the chair's description it say without foot rest. Very disappointed to have purchased a wheelchair with no foot rest.. I would have given 5 stars. So only gave this a 4 star rating. Now, I have to find foot rest or buy a complete new chair...
