THE STANDARD for comfortable utilitarian float tripping. Unmatched in comfort, portability, value, and on-the-water mobility, the King Kool has cult status among my circle of friends. It is surprisingly durable, able to survive trips in whitewater rivers (Class I-II, after that all bets are off). This baby will bump or even ride over rocks with gusto as long as you don't overinflate it. I have tried many types of tubes, the most popular type being the standard circular tube. The King Kool rises above as you have full control very low in the water, being able to use both hands for propulsion along the sides with full range of motion. You can really move in this thing and navigate rapids with ease once you get the hang of it. The "hole" in the front can snugly fit a small cooler or drybag. As long as you don't pop it on a difficult seam tear, you can repair it pretty easily with Gorilla Tape mid-trip. I have a friend who used the same King Kool for 3 years of river float trips before it gave out. ***INTEX, IF YOU ARE LISTENING!!!!*** The King Kool is great and a great value, but if you make a more durable premium version with thicker more resilient material (especially the bottom), YOU WILL HAVE MANY BUYERS. It would be far better for the environment as well as my group of friends has had to "retire" (throw away) an unfortunate number of King Kools in our travels. That said, they really are durable and should hold up for many trips. I have grinded mine over plenty of shallow river rocks with no issue and repaired it with Gorilla Tape.

First, this isn't a toy, it's a float to float around the pool in. So don't let them tell you it's a toy. I absolutely love this float. I have two and although I didn't get to pick the color, I was shipped one of each. The best thing about this device is that you don't have to be a gymnast to get on or off of it. I have an in-ground pool, so I simply stand on the steps, step into the "hole" and sit. The same to get off, I go to the steps, put my feet through the hole, and stand. AND it's comfortable. Enough that I have been known to nap while floating in the pool. These floats are durable and have lasted 3 years. This year, however, they both got small holes which I could not repair with the repair kits. The adhesive did not work. BUT I am ordering 4 more so that next summer, I will be ready to float again along with my friends. Inexpensive, comfortable, lasts for at least 3 years and inflates very easily in two sections (pillow and body are blown up separately). Love it and recommend it. (I can only vouch for floating in a pool and not for lakes, streams or the ocean).

Oh. My. Gosh! This was like heaven on the water. My kids have fifty million inflatable toys and water guns and sometimes I feel like the pool is the least relaxing place to be. I got this so I could get a little sun on my legs while being in the pool this summer, but what I actually got was a love for the hole with water in it that resides in my back yard that I'm sometimes tempted to throw bags of dry concrete mix into. Maybe it is the Coke in the cup holder talking...probably the Coke...but that headrest hits me just right. the hole for my feet is just the right distance away so I can dip my toes in the water when I get too warm, and that cup holder, well the possibilities are truly endless aren't they! My kids know this is off limits to them. The nieces and nephews have been warned that if they would like to inherit anything from me some day that they will keep their mitts off of it. I do share with the rather harried looking adult that comes to visit from time to time. There is just something magical about when you sit in this rainbow raft of Ahhhhsomeness, it transports you to a pool far far away where there is only sun, warm breezes, birds calling, sea (pool) spray, and cold refreshing drinks at your fingertips. Even the noise from kids screaming and splashing then fighting and yelling then cannonballing on top of eachother seems to be transformed into a distant fading nightmare when you close your eyes and just float around on this. If I lived near a lake I'd have to tether it to something, because my luck I'd fall asleep and end up in the middle of the lake with the sun going down and no paddle. So if you are wondering if you should spend the $7 something dollars to buy this, I'd recommend asking yourself, "How much is your mental well being worth to you?" Mine is worth a whole lot more than $7 but if it were more I might not have bought it and then think of all I would have missed out on.

I’ve bought 4 of these Intex King Kool Inflatable Lounge pool floats in the last two years. For the first month or two of daily use, PERFECT float! Love how I can dip my feet at the end and the comfy headrest (more on that in a minute). The drink holder is pretty useless. I have had this float in both the blue and clear. They are awesome.....at first. The bottom part always has stayed inflated and never failed on me. The head rests are another story. Now this could be because I use them almost daily during the summer but every single one of them should not end up with holes at the seam after only 1-2 months. And it is ONLY the headrest, the bottom stays perfectly inflated. There is obviously a design flaw. Also, these floats are not very long so they are perfect for kids and shorter adults (I’m 5’3”) but if you’re tall, you will be a bit cramped. I tried to give you a feel for the size in the first photo when I had my kiddie chill pool (with the blue lounger). The head rest on that one went out after a month, so I purchased a couple more. The next photos are of my most recent (clear) King Kool inflatable lounge float (exactly the same as the blue except color) when it was brand new and in its glory days before the head rest deflated and no longer holds air. I still give it a 3/5 if you can buy it cheap and only expect it to last one summer. It would get 5 stars for sure if the head rests on all 4 floats did not deflate and I have done nothing other than lounge in the pool for 1-2 hours about 4 times a week. I’d be cool with one or two, but all 4 is no coincidence. See photos. These are only the ones I bought this summer but the two from last summer did the EXACT SAME THING. Last 2 pics show the end result. I will still continue to buy these as long as they are priced low. I stock up during the winter when they are $5-$7 range. I would NOT spend more than $8 on one of these but I do love them for the month that they last lol
