  • Best Pool Pump on the Market
Size: 2,500 Gallons Per Hour Pattern Name: Filter Pump
This brand, style pump came with my original 26-foot round Intex Pool I purchased from Walmart. after 10 years my BF hit my pool with the weed eater and ruined it. I couldn't find the same pool so I bought the Coleman Oval 26 X 18 pool. I have hated it from day one. The sides don't stand up like they are supposed to no matter what we tried. It came with a Smart Pump that was defective from the box, and they never honored my request for a new one, but I had purchased the warranty from Wal-Mart, so they did. In the meantime, I had hooked this pump up to it, my old one. It ran for a long time, until it developed a crack in the housing. So I bought another Sand Pool Pump, it was as useless as well as the Smart Pump. We went on vacation for 2 weeks, the power went out and the pump went off, and did not come back on when the power did. We came home to a green pool! It didn't keep the pool clean at all, even though I had a vacuum going too!, and no timer so you had to keep going out to turn it on and off. This pump wasn't available to ship to CA last year which is ridiculous, since it comes with pools, so I kept watching and waiting! Bingo!! I got it this year!! It's so easy to set up, runs on a timer, and the filters are easy to find. Although you can wash and reuse them several times if you wash them regularly. this winter I found them on Sale, 2 for $4.00...Steal....I stocked up! I am so excited to get this pump hooked up to the pool as I know it will keep it clean! I may purchase another just to keep around, although the last one lasted over 10 years!! You won't go wrong with this purchase, it's over half the cost less than what the others were that I had to purchase, that didn't work either. I am one happy camper (pool owner) again!! Now just to find another 26ft. round pool, so much more room in the pool, not the yard, but I will sacrifice that to have the space in the pool!! Get this Pump, you will love the ease of keeping up with it, change the filter, set the timer and go!! The paperwork was all crumpled up in the box and one page torn all to pieces, couldn't read it but since I had one before I knew how to set it up. Enjoy your new pump!! ... show more

  • Works awesome for an intex spa (with DIY plumbing)
Size: 1,000 Gallons Per Hour Pattern Name: Filter Pump
The pump unit for Intex inflatable spas contains the filtration pump, an electric heater, and a blower motor for bubbles and inflation. I've been heating our spa with a DIY propane contraption since new, and we never really use bubbles, so when the electronics died recently, I decided to replace the whole unit with DIY, including this for the filtration and heating loop. I had to DIY some 3D printed plumbing adapters to hook everything up, but this pump is great. It keeps the tub SO much cleaner than the OEM module, and the timer function is perfect for set-it-and-forget-it couple hours a day scheduling. I have a custom controller to run everything, and conveniently the timer resets every time the unit is unplugged, so it doesn't get in the way of that AND provides a safety backup if for some reason my controller gets stuck ON in that it'll only run max 2h/day (settable to 2/4/6/8h). Also, it pushes water through a solar heating mat perfectly, which seems to do a great job heating the tub for free whenever the sun's available. Finally, since many have asked but none have answered: it draws about 100W in my setup, where the OEM pump drew about 50. This will probably depend on your exact plumbing but mine didn't change much when adding the solar mat. ... show more

  • If you have hard water or iron issues BUY THIS works great on small pool
Size: 1,500 Gallons Per Hour Pattern Name: Filter Pump
Learn from my mistakes, don't waste all your time & money this summer. Here is how I cleared my brown iron infested pool up in just 3 days! We decided to attempt to set up a pool again this year & I forgot how tedious the whole process is, but this filter ended up being a savior! I decided to start small and ordered the 8ft intex pool from Target (99$) & although it claimed it came with a filter pump it didn't. I figured it was a small pool so I could get away with a small pump so I ordered an off brand 330 pump ($79). We have a septic water system so our water is full of iron thusly when we filled the pool it was super cloudy and murky. I hooked up the small filter and ran it for 10 days straight, cleaning out the cartridge daily and adding chemicals constantly...the water was slightly better but still very cloudy and brown (see 1st picture) and the iron particles that would settle on the bottom were too fine to vaccum up. After doing some research & reading a ton of reviews I decided to buy this filter. I knew from the reviews I needed to buy the adapters since I have a smaller pool, I got them for $16 here on Amazon. I read the gasket is not necessary & since it was a $60+ part I decided to hold off on that. While it works great without it it enables you to turn the water flow off for pump maintenance so it is helpful, I think eventually I will be getting one. The adapters are 100% necessary as the fittings are larger than the pool. So the filter & adapters came in just 2 days. It was super easy to install, took me like 30 minutes to do myself. If you're like me and super new to pools intex has some videos on YouTube that help a lot! I will admit the dual suction threw me off since the smaller filter only had 1 intake 1 output. Initially I installed it backwards & had 2 output hoses and 1 intake hose. The next day I realized my mistake and switched the hoses to 2 intake and 1 output. But, it still worked well that first night, that's how amazing this filter is. Being that my pool is so small this filter is super powerful!! The suction power is amazing & the output comes out like a hot tub. That old small pump didn't even move the water around, this one actually circulates it. If you're like me and have hard water or iron issues Google "pool sock method". I filled socks with pillow stuffing and zip tied them to the output hose than rinsed them clean a few times a day. The helped to collect those tiny stubborn iron particles. After the 1st night of running this filter the water was 80% clear (see 2nd picture). I was pleasantly surprised!! I continued using the pool socks and shocked the water the next day & it was 90% clear (see 3rd picture). After a few days of maintenance, chemicals and the occasional vaccum (I have one of those cheap pool vacs that hook up to a garden hose), I went outside to find the water 100% crystal clear!!!!! Literally all the iron particles GONE!!! Since it was super hot here last week the water feels amazing!! I feel like I finally conquered my greatest challenge yet...the brown pool water, and I owe it all to this filter!!! Yes it was a little more than I initially wanted to spend for a little pool, but it was SO worth it! I wish someone would have told me that before I wasted money on a subpar filter & weeks of having a brown pool no one could swim in!! Now that I have this amazing filter and know it works so well I plan on upgrading to the 12ft poolnext year... I just have to level out the ground better... (if you haven't put your pool up yet, LEVEL THE GROUND 1ST it really matters). But for now we are LOVING our little pool paradise. So if you have a small pump the upgrade is 1000% WORTH IT! ... show more
