I'm in the auto industry and I've used a smoke leak detector countless times. So I didn't need instructions. I'm confused as to why they didn't include them as this is hardly a machine made for commercial use, where most anyone who purchases it already knows how to use it. All that being said, it works really well. I was unsure as to whether to take off stars for lack of documentation but perhaps anyone who buys this already knows how to use one? If all else fails, try YouTube.

Normally a missing manual would be a -1 star issue, but for something this expensive and potentially complex, there is absolutely no excuse to fail to provide even a basic set of instructions. Come on people! One of the common issues that people seem to be having is that there is nothing that indicates HOW MUCH OIL you should use. When I tried 1oz/30ml, it worked. When I tried 2oz/60ml, it worked. When I went ham wild and put the whole bottle in (which is a reasonable assumption), it stopped working. When it works, it's a pretty nice piece of kit, if a bit cumbersome and klunky. But man, it helped me track down some bad hoses on my intake manifold I didn't realize I even had. So if the manufacturer comes back and promises to start including a manual, I'll update this. But seriously, it's absolutely making a profit at the price they're charging compared to the parts list involved, so a single piece of paper with even the most pre-school level of instructions is a basic requirement. And no, having a manual online is not acceptable, if there even is one.

This is a highly functional smoke leak detector available at a nice value price point. It can be used effectively on a number of automotive systems as well as other motorized vehicles (ATVs, motorboats, etc.). I used it a couple of days ago trying to make sure my cooling system wasn't leaking. Fortunately, it wasn't. Small unit doesn't take up a lot of room and is incredibly versatile. Great tool for any DIY mechanic at this price. Highly recommended!

This is great for diagnosing evap and carbon cannister problems. I guess I'm the go-to guy among my friends for these troubles, which typically light up a check engine light. Some things I was able to diagnose easily, but other problems were more trouble. With this smoke machine and all of its attachments, I should be able to do even more. There is even a big plug to find exhaust leaks the smart way.

Nothing worse than owning a small shop limited on space and ordering a smoke tester that doesn’t work!!!! I would have been better off smoking a blunt and blowing the smoke in the vacuum line. What a waste of time and money. Back to square one I go needing a smoke tester to find this vacuum leak. Thank you for putting me another week behind.

The stream meter is a decent expansion just like the enormous grouping of fittings and connectors. This pack appears to have connectors to fit pretty much any circumstance. I utilized mineral oil that I've had close by for quite a while. Speedy history is that I might have utilized this machine a couple of years prior while investigating my 99 Silverado consumption complex. I wound up observing a few web-based recordings and manipulated up a smoke machine from a pickle container, modest welding iron, shop cloth, mineral oil, tire valve, and 12 volt tire inflator. Was it ever janky yet it worked and showed my holes. End of brief tale.
