Paired with a z690 motherboard and Scythe Mugen 5 cooler, the performance is on par with a 12700K (see the picture).On a z690 or b660 motherboard with good VRMs, 12700F can run at high power rating (PL2) continuously. And, a better cooler than the one included, Scythe Mugen 5 for me, keeps the CPU cool to avoid thermal throttling (never exceeds 70C under any load). When paired with a good cooler and motherboard, the performance practically matches 12700K. The latest CPUs are no fun to overclock anymore as they draw too much power and cooling becomes too expensive and noisy for the little performance gain. This chip runs cooler then my i7-9700k and uses less of the cores. Actually super happy with this upgrade. The new retention was alittle weird but overall great value. Fyi make sure you get the right cooler in my case i had the corsair h150i elite capellix so i had to order the new retention kit from corsairs website.
