Upgraded from an i7 9700F and the i5 14400F performs a lot better than I expected. The price can't be beat and I noticed around an average of 25+fps higher in most games but all games and apps RUN SMOOTHER. It FEELS smoother to use my PC and that is what I freaking wanted. Can’t lie….the processor works great. It does what it needs to do. It arrived in excellent condition…. But The intel fan that came with this cpu was so hard to attach to the motherboard on top of the cpu. Save yourself time and buy a separate cpu fan rated for this intel chip. It took me almost 45 minutes to figure out how to do it. “Wait a minute,”….”surely this is a simple thumb screw you turn and press into the premade holes on the motherboard? Why was it so hard?” First of all, never call me Shirley. Second, I would get two of the four thumb screws through the holes and secured but the other two would not go down and secure. Fast forward to going on Reddit and finding someone with the same issue. I found that if I took a flat blade screw driver and pressed into the thumb screw from underneath the motherboard (the piece of the thumb screw that pokes through and splits apart when secured) they would actually engage properly. Weird but it worked and it’s secure. ... show more
