  • AWESOME CPU - TERRIBLE PACKAGING
Amazing processor! Could max every single game out including 4K. I have this paired with my R9 380 4GB and i can run star wars battlefront 4K on a solid 45FPS, besides 4k gaming this will max every single game out at 1080p! This is just as poweful as the new i7 Skylake except is 15% slower wich is not bad at all. You can get this CPU used like i did for under 200$ compared to the skylake at 700$. Reason i did not give it 5 stars us because the seller did a bad job on packaging it. CPU was covered in dried thermal paste wich took me a good 30 minutes to remove. The CPU cooler was also covered in thermal paste and was wrapped in celafaime food wrap wich is a very bad idea since it is very static prone. The CPU was also wrapped in it wich is a BIG NO NO! Im suprised it did not get destroyed during shipping because of the friction and static wrap. ... show more

  • Great Upgrade and Trouble Free Install
There have been no issues since installation, using fresh thermal compound, and all applications and services are running at higher speeds, especially the video conversions. Original processor was a 3.4 GHz i3-2130 Dual Core. If there have been updates or needed drivers, due to this processor change, they were probably installed from Windows 10 OS. I used the existing heat sink/fan because the heat sink is larger and has more secure screw mountings than the quarter-turn twist-lock that comes with the processor. Processor and fan/heat sink assembly clearly labeled Intel. I also have another heat sink/fan assembly. The three year warranty is also a bonus. To paraphrase an old saying of measure twice and cut once..."check twice and order once." Check you manufacturer specs and the vendor before ordering. This is the highest level processor my computer can take but will make it transition the future changes in operating system upgrades and applications. The processor is many times the difference between computer prices. I would order again from this company and would not hesitate to contact from the Amazon information. ... show more

  • Top of the Line Processor
I was building a desktop and decided that I wanted a processor that would stand the test of time. This processor is fantastic. My build was for a gaming PC and this thing is amazing. In addition to this I have a great ASUS motherboard, GeForce GTX 660Ti, Samsung SSD, and 16 GB of RAM. I still can hardly believe how well my desktop can run different games and software. And combining my processor with the motherboard and ssd that I'm using I can theoretically go from boot to login in 2 seconds. Realistically I'm pretty consistently 5 seconds or a little under. But this processor has continued to amaze me. It's definitely worth the extra money to buy something that will continue to perform. ... show more

  • Intel Core i7 2600 Great product!!!
Well, I bought this CPU as an inversion, i'm a designer, musician and gamer. I really wanted to have my own great PC, and even without the Intel Graphics 3000 that i7 2600K has as an advantage, games and programming software runs eficiently, even two, or more of them at the same time. If you want one of the most powerfull CPU on the market, buy it. You'll never regret. These are the components of my machine, I don't know what kind of PC do you want. But really, this CPU works too eficiently. Games and programming software runs eficiently, even two, or more of them at the same time (in my case). Just buy it. You'll never regret. • 'Old' but not obsolete
This second generation Intel Microprocessor is, still, a beast! For those that has an old architecture computer and don't feel like buying a new one, I totally recommend this processor. I've bought an used one in near perfect condition and for an unbelievable price! You can't go wrong with this one.

  • Fast!
I'm not an engineer or computer science nerd. All I can say is that I am a hardcore gamer and hardcore multitasker (I work, shop, browse the internet, watch videos, and play games all at the same time), and this thing handles everything I do beautifully and exceptionally well. I am very impressed with this thing. Honestly, this is one of those "buy it and forget it" deals--in the sense that I haven't worried about performance issues in the slightest. Though, beware that this thing runs hot. If you don't have adequate cooling for your case, definitely consider an aftermarket CPU fan/heatsink. (Stock fan, I was running 50c idle, 70c load--Antec 302 case in the summer, which is well within acceptable ranges for this chip. I got the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0028Y4S9K/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title) and added a front panel fan, so now I'm running 35c idle, 65c load). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ... show more

  • Great for Everything
I'm a developer as well as a gamer, so when I was looking to build a PC last year the first thing I wanted to look at was an i7 and I started my build based around it. This little guy never stops amazing me. Having quad cores means you can get insane speeds running complex programs or multiple at once. The dual threading allows you to even push that higher, so when I compile code it zips through like nobody's business. I pair this with a Radeon 6770 graphics card and games run beautifully and I've never managed to really bog the processor down. Installing is as easy as any other processor, so if you know what you're doing it'll be a snap. If you don't, then seek guides or videos on how to do it before you start putting it on the board. It's not hard, but you don't want to risk damaging the fragile pins. Box comes with everything you need, which isn't much more than some documentation and a sticker. If you're into overclocking you'll need the 2600k but this thing is powerful enough stock that I haven't even considered that. All in all, everything I expected and more. ... show more
