  • Nice processor for work and gaming
Its pretty good for the price, considering I bought it used for 150. Paired this with an rx 460 4gb and im playing every game high to ultra settings depending on the title. No problems at the moment, I would strongly recommend it

  • Pretty awesome performance when overclocked.
Although this isn't officially supported for overclocking, almost any z-170 (such as the ASRock Pro 4s) can overclock the non-k cpus so long as you don't mind reverting the bios. I have mine clocked at 4.1-4.3 Ghz and it is noticeable how much faster it is and not much hotter either. Although if you go this route I would recommend water cooling to help the chip stay a little cooler and last a little longer, but I do recommend the 6400, or the 6500 depending on whichever is cheaper at the time you decide to buy. ... show more

  • Great non-k processor
Solid performing processor. I didn't need a K version because they was going into a mid-level computer being used for photo editing and video editing. It was paired with an MSI motherboard, an ssd, an EVGA GTX 950, and 8gb of DDR4 and it performs fantastically. I have a highly overclocked i5-3570k in another computer and it just barely beats this one in benchmarking. ... show more

  • Great performance for the value
I have not purchased an top of the line processor in years. In this case, we needed a 6th generation processor for testing, so we made the purchase. The processor's performance is very respectable. Its the fastest machine in the testing lab. If you are looking for performance, then a 6th gen or 7th gen processor is for you. ... show more

  • Great little chip
Great little chip, runs cool. Purchased for a HTPC to host a Plex server on. I went with the powerful guy for future proofing and b/c client will be using this to stream Plex 4K content to a Roku 4, or multiple 1080p streams to Rokus in his house. The integrated graphics does support 4k, but only up to 24hz, so that is a con, but I knew that going in, so be prepared to still get a real graphics card if you'd like to do 4k with 60 hz.... I chose not to, since streaming would not matter. ... show more

  • Great processor, easy to install, no thermal paste needed.
Easy to install, works great after a month. FAST and runs cool, I'm not overclocking. NOTE: there is already a thermal coating on the processor - you don't want to use thermal paste like I did (oops).
