My mom initially did not want anything on her doors and windows because she didn’t want to keep sunlight out of our home. However, we live in a townhouse and were surrounded with neighbors, After 3 years I wanted some space loll. Installation of this product was easy, I made sure to clean the window really well and even tried overlapping some of the film to make the window more cloudy (the film is layerable and stackable, though I only used two layers!) The squeegee from the 99 cents store saved me a lot of time and took out all the bubbles. I followed someone’s suggestion of using clear tape to secure the edges and now the film sits flat. Today was a really sunny day and the film started to make mini rainbows on the window. I think this is a great product and hopefully it will last us for a very long time. ... show more

I used this product for temporary privacy for an event. I was able to split one roll for both sidelight windows. It was very easy to cut and "install." Friends thought it looked like real patterned glass. The best part is the beautiful colors that come into the room. These were really awesome! I needed privacy on my front door that was my first priority & they delivered for sure. For only like $10 this is an amazing deal. I had more than enough, it does the job & it looks so pretty. Only problem i had was it did take me like a few hours for the whole process. I cut them, wet them & stuck them then used an exacto knife to make them perfect size once they were on, used an old gift card to get rid of any bubbles. I followed the instructions & water alone really didnt get them to stay well. i ended up using a brush (i had a sponge paint brush so i used that) & soap & water & painted that all over the back of the film (part that sticks to the window) & that was what worked best for me. there’s still a few spots that wont stick but for the price im not mad ... show more

I work in a cubicle with 7 foot walls. It has a door that closes and a two-pane window with each pane measuring about 36 x 18 inches. The design of the cubicle makes it impossible to hang curtains over the window and I was left feeling like an exhibit at the zoo. No one can walk by the window without being compelled to look inside. I found the Instruban Window Privacy Film and it looked to be the answer I was searching for. The images look amazing, but I'm in the interior of a building with no light shining through the window, so I don't get the rainbow effect. It does effectively blur the view of passersby as well as my view of them, which helps lessen my distraction. It does not completely obscure the inside of my office, but I no longer feel like I am on exhibit. Application was fairly easy. Managing a 36x18" strip of vinyl was a little cumbersome, but I was able to readjust the fit (several times) and it still clung to the window in the end. I would suggest cutting over the needed amount and then trimming the edges once it's fitted into the window frame. Somehow I ended up a little short and have about 1/2 inch gap on one side. ... show more

I tried soapy water and then windex to make the vinyl. Perhaps the cling was wrapped too tightly because it rolls. I really like the look of the product, but it’s currently being held up with tape.
