  • Great tv, especially for the price
I bought this during a Christmas sale, so it was a very good price (about $200). It works great and I’m so happy to not have to keep buying fire sticks every years. The picture is great, the tv is super lightweight, and the remote is just like the fire stick remote. The one and only negative is that Hulu doesn’t work great with it. It seems to be a known problem, but you do get kicked out of Hulu programming fairly regularly (like every 15-30 mins). It just kicks you back to the Home Screen and you have to click back onto the Hulu app to continue watching. Hopefully they fix that soon. Overall we are very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Hands down the best value out there for TVs
Size: 55-inch
TLDR: the price speaks for itself. I’m just here to tell you it’s not too good to be true; it’s the real deal as long as you aren’t expecting a truly high-end state-of-the-art picture or anything beyond the 4K. (pictures show a couple of aerial view 4K screensavers; as you can see they look pretty good, even on a zoomed in iPhone photo!) This TV doesn’t have all the Dolby whatever, or whatever version of LED we’re up to now. It definitely lacks that “depth” quality in a lot of TVs. But the picture resolution is excellent, and for the price (I paid $180 for a 55 inch 4K tv) I have absolutely nothing to complain about at all. I’m still in shock that this is even real, and not some scam or lemon of some sort. It’s very reliable, backed by reputable name brands too. I only mention the negatives early on because it may not be for you if you’re really into the picture and display experience with your TV. 4K is great, but don’t expect any picture/display bells and whistles beyond that. So if you just want an excellent, crisp resolution on a huge TV for dirt cheap, this is the real deal. Amazon Fire is built in and seems to work fine, albeit a bit clunky/laggy at times. Not any more than my experience with regular fire sticks though so I don’t think it’s the TVs fault. The only Fire stick I’ve ever gotten to work smoothly over the long run is the one built into my last Insignia TV, so I’m sure this one is fine too. I just prefer the UI/UX of Apple TV either way, and it works great with that too. The UI for the TV itself is pleasant since it’s designed by an actual tech company and not the famously outdated UI you usually get with TV makers that don’t make any other SaaS or user facing software products . Easy to navigate settings and all that. ... show more

  • Unbeatable Value and Stunning Picture Quality!
I am beyond impressed with this Insignia 50" F50 Series 4K TV. If you are looking for a high-quality smart TV at a great price point, this is easily the best deal out there. The 4K UHD picture is crisp and vibrant, and having Fire TV built-in makes streaming live TV without cable incredibly seamless. The voice remote with Alexa is a total game-changer for navigation, too. While the delivery was a little slower than I anticipated, the quality of the TV and the price I paid more than make up for the wait. Once it arrived and I saw the performance, I knew I’d made the right choice. It’s a fantastic addition to the home—definitely worth five stars! ... show more

  • Purchased in Nov. 2025. SO MANY problems. Detailed Review. Do NOT buy!
I have 2 other Insignia TVs that I purchased in 2020. Neither is a FireTV - Just regular TVs and they work great - still. I was looking for a larger TV and I had zero reservations about buying Insignia again. I was hugely surprised that I had an absolute miserable experience to set it up and later, watch. Problem 1: Wouldn’t connect with remote. Contacted Amazon via chat. Was told to unplug TV. Didn’t work. Unplugged again. Didn’t work. Unplugged modem and router. Connected to remote. Problem 2: Wouldn’t play Amazon Prime. Called this time. Spoke to first Amazon rep for over an hour. Got disconnected. Called back. Another hour. The guy couldn't recommend anything other than what the first Amazon guy said which was to disconnect my router and modem, unplug the TV and try again. The TV gets to a screen that says it "needs an update." Click on it to start the update which takes forever and then the TV restarts on its own and returns you back to the original blacked out "apps" that it is supposed to support (you can't see them, but they are supposedly there). Tried several times, and it kept going through the same cycle of "needing an update, waiting for 45 min for the cycle, restarting TV." Problem 3: Amazon phone rep asks for serial number which I read to him from a photograph I took of the back of the TV. He says it’s invalid. What I read to him clearly says "Serial Number" plus it had a manufacture date of June 2025. He asked me to send him the photo as he couldn't validate the serial number. I also gave him my Amazon order number. He said the photo shows another serial number - smaller and way less obvious - with a manufacture date of 1 year earlier (2024!) than the larger, central label with the "invalid serial number." What's going on with that Amazon? Are you slapping on a year younger serial number and manufacture date to make the TV look newer and not like it's one that has been in your store room for over a year? I bought the thing 24 hours ago. Problem 4: There is no user manual. Problem 5: The power cord hole to plug in is hidden with absolutely no reference on any of the 2-page pamphlet where it is located on the back of the TV. Other reviewers have mentioned this. If I didn't read a customer review, I never would have found the power connector. It's vertical! There's an indentation on the left side of the TV as you are facing the back. Hidden at the top of it (it's totally concealed - feel with your finger for it) is the input for the electric cord. Problem 6: Once started - there's still the issue of it going thru different screens with rectangles of the supposed apps it has all blacked out so you can’t see which app it is. No icons. Problem 7: When you finally get it to work and see the apps - and let's say you choose a movie on Amazon Prime - if you put it on "pause" and leave the room to get a snack , the TV will turn itself off. When you turn it back on you won't see the movie, but instead the home screen with all the apps. When you choose "Amazon Prime Video" to get your movie - the thing doesn't even show you the movie at this point. You have to use the search function to find said movie. The only saving grace is that when you find the movie, it does let you resume from where you left off. Other reviewers have noted that there is no setting to avoid the heavy lifting of trying to find your movie again. The auto shut-off engages to "save power" according to the other reviewers. I haven't experienced it shutting off while I'm watching a movie - only when I put it on "pause." As others have said, the interface is super sluggish. It takes a while to load whatever app you choose. Unless you enjoy wasting your life in the set up process (I cannot understand how folks say it's "easy" to set up - and I am pretty tech savvy), I wouldn’t recommend buying this TV. I, myself, am going to watch it daily for the next 2 weeks to see if it starts having the screen issues that others reported. In this way my return window is still open. BTW - TV size is measured on the diagonal. Some reviewers have measured the length of the TV and reported an incorrect size. Also don't be fooled by the $169 "sale price" or "cyber Monday" or "Black Friday" or whatever title is given to the price. The price is and was $169 for the 50" TV for a while (just go to "price history" and you can see it for this and any product sold on Amazon). Hope that helps all of you considering this set. If I had to do it over again, I'd suggest another manufacturer. ... show more
