I got this sandblaster kit thinking I’d finally win the war against rust, especially on a used trailer I recently bought from someone. Turns out, rust is stubborn and has lawyers, but this little gun still puts up a good fight. The quality of the gun is better than I expected for the price, it feels sturdy and doesn’t scream “disposable tool” when you pick it up. Hooking it up to the compressor was straightforward enough, although it did take some fiddling with fittings to make sure it wasn’t hissing like a snake at me. Performance? It shoots media like an angry firehose with a grudge. I tried aluminum oxide and walnut shells, both worked fine but be prepared for the mess. This thing doesn’t care about your lawn furniture or your neighbor’s car. It strips paint well, and on metal, it eats away at old crud like a champ. Just remember, your air compressor better have some lungs, or else you’ll be waiting longer between blasts than a kid with a single-shot Nerf gun. Design is compact, and I actually like the feel of it in my hand, even after a long session. My only complaint is that it’s more “mini” than I’d hoped, so refilling the hopper feels like filling a hamster’s food bowl every ten minutes. Still, if you want to take your garage DIY up a notch without breaking the bank, this thing gets the job done… just wear goggles unless you want to sandblast your eyelashes off. I am blind enough already! :D

Inokraft Portable Sand Blaster Gun Kit for Air Compressor --- Let me say from the get go.. I don't have any experience with sand blasting. That's exactly why I ordered this because from time to time I have a tool or part of some sort that I wish I could sand blast clean. So... I ordered this simple inexpsive sandblaster to give it a shot and learn. With all that said it does seem like a well enough made tool.. I think it be just what I was after. I picked up a bag of Black Diamond fine sand from my local farm and ranch store. Is this what I really need?.. I really don't know but from reading bags it seemed most appropriate for light to medium rust and finish removal. So with sand purchased and ready to go I put the gun together and got it set-up. My chosen target for test run was an old machete with and ugly blade I keep grinding an edge on. To my surprise I'd seem to clean it up quit nicely. I had know idea it created the dust it does but with a little adjusting seemed to work fine. There is a slight learning curve in getting your compressor pressure in agreement with the guns pressure setting. I think just matter of using it more and learning what works best just like any other new tool. This gun is mostly all plastic but its thick and reinforced and seems well enough made. All the moving and sealing pieces are what appears to be brass construction and the tip taking the abuse is ceramic. The small tank doesn't hold much but probably appropriate and relative to the weight of being on the gun. Seem's it'll do fine for the smaller DIY projects I would have. Again, I've no real experience but just judging off what I see I'm going with 5-Stars for now. If after a little more practice I've feel there's any issue with the gun as apposed to my ignorance with the thing.. I'll come back and say what needs to be said. For now.. Seems good. 5-Stars

This little handheld blaster makes it really easy to clean up small tools and parts. I’ve only used it with aluminum oxide at this point, but it has been working very well with no jams or clogs. I assembled the blaster with the dryer/separator component attached, using the supplied teflon tape at the 2 connection points. I was a little worried that the connection between the quick disconnect nipple and the dryer was going to leak air because it threaded all the way onto the dryer by hand, but I heard no detectable leaks when I hooked up the air. The unit itself is nice and lightweight, which really helps keep the total weight manageable after it’s been filled with media. It’s quite easy to hold in one hand, and feels comfortable while I’m operating it. I had a pair of large channel lock pliers that was starting to look a little rough, so I poured some 100 grit aluminum oxide into the blaster’s hopper, re-secured the lid, and started to work (wearing the included eye protection and a respirator that I already had). It made very short work of cleaning off all of the rust, yielding a uniform clean matte finish on the metal. It also made a mess on my driveway, but that’s why I did it out there, knowing that the media was going to end up all over the place. I’ve used sand blasting cabinets in the past, and they definitely contain the mess a lot better, but they take up a lot more space and have their own issues you have to deal with (e.g. media contamination). For larger jobs a cabinet is the way to go, but for small simple jobs this is a great tool that works quite well, as long as you have an open place outside where you can use it… I wouldn’t want to have to clean up my garage after using this in it! The kit came with everything I needed (except the respirator, which you MUST wear when using aluminum oxide media), and it includes a spare ceramic nozzle as well. I had no problems with air leaks or media leaking out when I wasn’t actively using it. It’s a great, easy-to-use tool for small jobs.
