This is a review for a sandblaster I purchased to clean my engine manifold ports. I have a 12-year-old car and decided to tackle the built-up carbon and combustion byproducts in the intake manifold. After doing a lot of research on different methods (chemicals, manual scraping with picks, and various blasting options), I decided to go with walnut blasting using this sandblaster—and I’m very happy with the results. I used a compressor that goes up to 150 PSI and fine/medium grit walnut shell media. In practice, I found that 80–100 PSI was the sweet spot. At higher pressures (around 150 PSI), the walnut shells didn’t flow as well through the blaster. At the proper pressure, the tool worked efficiently and gave me a noticeable improvement, as you can see in my before-and-after pictures. A few tips that made this work really well: 1. Use a moisture trap on your compressor This helps keep the air dry so the walnut media doesn’t clump and flows smoothly. 2. Make sure the walnut shells are completely dry Any moisture will cause clogging and poor performance. 3. Have a way to contain and collect the media I used a cover setup that allowed me to connect a shop vac. This was essential for trapping and removing the walnut shells from the manifold area while blasting. 4. Verify your valves are fully closed before blasting You do not want walnut shells getting into the cylinders. I rotated the crankshaft to ensure the valves were closed for each cylinder I was working on, then used brake cleaner in the ports to confirm it didn’t leak past the valves into the cylinder. Only when it held fluid did I proceed with blasting. 5. Be prepared to do some manual cleanup In a few tight spots where the blaster couldn’t reach, I used picks to loosen stubborn carbon, then blasted again and vacuumed out all remaining media. Overall, the whole process took about 2–3 hours, and the results were excellent. The ports were much cleaner, my engine is running smoothly, and I have no engine codes after the job. The sandblaster itself performed very well, felt sturdy, and handled the walnut shell media without issues once everything was set up correctly. I’d give it a solid 5/5 and recommend it to anyone interested in doing walnut blasting on their intake ports—provided they’re willing to follow proper precautions and take their time.

I I am using it at work for etching more 5 gallons or scuffing Sealcoat epoxy over mostly teak wood for pretty damn expensive boats. Most major boat manufacturers. It's cut my time down from a damn hour per seat back to about 2 to 3 minutes tops. Let me tell you, I would fight somebody for this thing if they tried to take it. It works very well. And has had no problems. Very good design and I don't see it getting any ware on it anytime soon. But I am only using like playgrounds and or play sand. Fine to medium grit. I'll probably buy an extra one just for backup. Well worth the money. I've been through more 5 gallon buckets of sand and I can count and have not had any clogs or anything. And you can get giant bags of play sand at Lowe's or Home Depot for I think under 10 bucks. It's worth the money by it if you need it.

Works excellent. If you have at least an 8 gallon compressor which I picked up for $50. Zero issues and media adjustment is spot on. Used it several times. With fine media. Get it at Tractor Supply for like $15 . For a 50 lb bag. 👍🏻 make sure it’s fine media. Have fun. Used it on aluminum. Left it bare because it turned out so good.
