  • My first euc., and it's Awesome!
Wow! I got this about 3 weeks ago. First off I'm 50 years old, 5'5", and have had cushy jobs for the last 10 years, so my legs, and body have become rather weak. That's one of the main reasons I got this, for the excercise, plus the sensation of flying when I get good. I live in the country, in the Ozark hills, on dirt roads, so I got the nobby tires. It came with the pedals at the highest setting. It took a couple weeks to arrive, even tho it's a Prime listing, so my jump pads, and safety gear was already here. It's super awkward at first. You have to put your dominant foot on first, with the balls of feet on front edge of pedals, not necessarily centered. First day I got on in the kitchen, and learned to rock back and forth, and ride a few feet at a time with a counter top for hand rail. Going both directions. I watched tons of YT videos, and still am. It's like the new Nascar for me. I like watching Chooch, Wrong Way, Hsiang, and others, but they're my top 3 instructors :) I've made mistakes with my pads, and pedals. First I dropped the pedals to the lowest position after a couple days, because it's supposed to be easier to balance. That wasn't really true for me, but what it did do was make it extremely top heavy, causing mounting, and dismounting (falling off) to be extremely painful because all the weight would slam the side of my weak knees. I'm short. After 2 weeks, I've moved em to the middle position, and I can't believe how much easier it is on my knees now. I may even move them back to the top eventually. My brain was starting to associate this with pain, more than fun, but I don't give up on something I really want to do. Also I had my pads too far back, making it harder to accelerate. It might've been easier for me to learn my foot positions without pads, not sure tho. I mainly practice on weekends so far, since I can't ride good enough for the roads, in front of people, or going to work on it yet, but I plan too. I do get on every day, but not for very long. The wkends, I wear myself out :) This thing is very tough! I actually ordered a 9bot a1 the other day, so I can have 1 for the grandkids, and maybe ill practice with it until I can ride non stop without having to fall off, but I may already get this down before it arrives. This is my third weekend, just raised the pedals to mid height, and mounting/dismounting is much easier on my knees. Get good high top shoes, or boots even. I wore my Ariat workboots, and liked it, but my job smells, so my boots stay there, but the pedals are gauranteed to hit your ankles sometimes, so protect them with something. Durability- I hate crashing my new $2200 wheel! The footpeg brackets take a whole lot of the abuse! Check their bolts periodically for tightness. Mine were coming loose. When you change the pedal height, it's easier if you remove the pedals first. It takes the same 5/32 hex wrench that fits the mounting bolts. Just loosen 1 bolt that pushes against the mounting rod, and it will easily push out with screwdriver, or using the hex wrench, then pedal comes off. Be careful not to lose 2 spacer washers that go between peddle and mount on both sides of pedal. Sometimes the self balance gets wrong, and it tilts forwards, or leans back after a spill, or even being on the kickstand. Easy fix tho, just by pulling the freespin button, releasing, and letting it rebalance itself. Also you can recalibrate it by being on a level surface, putting on kickstand, and hitting calibrate. I've probably wrecked this pretty hard 1000+ times, and it still works perfectly! Nothing broken on it yet. Dropped it in a 3 inch deep water puddle. It's fine. I like the pedal hardness at 100, just cause it's easier to accelerate, and keep my balance initially, but I know when I get better, I'll be dropping them for the lean, and ease on my feet and ankles. After 3 weekends I can ride a few hundred feet a few times at least, without falling off. I could go farther probably, but that's the length of my dirt,rock, bumpy, pot holed driveway. Also up and down hills aren't that hard either. Going down is easier for me. My body still doesn't want to lean enough, and commit. Trust the wheel! That's what I keep telling myself, lol. It's true. I don't think you can out lean it. It'll catch up to your lean, just side to side is only way it can fall. Over all, even through the pain, doubt, and frustration, I'm very happy with how tough it is, and how well it works, and responds. I'm only giving it 4 stars because you have to buy basic accessories like a seat, jump pads, and aftermarket foot pedals, and inmotion is always sold out of those, you have to get em elsewhere, and everything is basically $100 each, so you'll need an extra $300 to get the basic accessories that it should come with. A small 25 pound wheel may not need em, but this is almost 70 pounds! Jump pads are kind of a must have, plus they help protect your euc during crashes. Everytime you sleep your brain gets better at it, so when you get tired, and start messing up more, just take a break, and sleep on it. It's like you practiced all night long! I'm gonna love it! I hope you do too. I added pictures of every angle so you can see the small damage done after 1000 crashes. UPDATE: I rode the Ninebot A1, 1 day, and could ride the V12ht much better after that. After a month of weekends, I'm now confident enough to ride on the roads. I got a mirror for my hand, so I can see behind me. You can't hear cars coming with the wind in your ears. I can get around 25mph before I get wobbles. They get better with experience, not a malfunction. I rode 6 miles on dirt roads one day last weekend. Up small mountains, and down. Also on paved road, practicing speed, and breaking as fast as I can, getting to know it. I'm very satisfied! My next one will have suspension tho ;) I'm hooked, and absolutely love it! 5 stars! ... show more

  • Customer service is nonexistent
I used it for commuting to and from work. Charged batteries twice, now it states default replace battery or charger. I’ve had it for a month. No one can help me. I’ve sent pictures, videos, and and run every test they’ve asked for. Still won’t satisfy them. Batteries is $1000 and charger is $200. I can’t see buying those when it cost $3000 to start with.   • After 6 electric unicycles -- The V12 seems most refined...
This is my 6th electric unicycle, and I have to say – the quality of the Inmotion V12 HT is next level! I’ve had wheels come to me out of the box so fragile that they are broken in shipping. This feels like it’s made of quality materials, and the touch screen on the top is so cool! The quality is on par with a cell phone in terms of brightness, clarity, and touch response. Two of my favorite features to have on an electric unicycle are speakers, and fun lights. The V12 checked both of those boxes! No small speakers inside of a box at 20+ miles per hour will sound great. But these speakers are located at the front of the wheel below the headlight, and present loud and clear sound so I can vibe to my playlist, and people can hear me coming as I approach them from behind. These electric unicycles are crazy silent when you don’t have music playing. The lights are fun and customizable. There are “fang” style vertical lights on the front and rear, for visibility on the streets, and round halo lights on the side panels. The halo side panels and front fangs have different modes that react to things like speed or music. It’s super fun, and looks really sharp. Lights on the side tend to break on most wheels after a couple of crashes, but the lights on my Inmotion V8F all work after over 800 miles and several wheel drops. Hopefully the V12 does as well, and with fewer drops! 😊 The headlight on the V12 is AMAZING! The best I’ve seen, definitely the brightest of any other wheel I’ve had previously – including the V11. It has 4 bulbs, and a bunch of settings that you can configure so that it gets brighter with speed, or manual control. Pretty cool! Now I don’t have to worry about blinding pedestrians if I’m going slow on a sidewalk, event, campgrounds, etc, but as I pick up speed, the brightness will increase and I don’t have to fiddle with anything as my need for more light increases. Looking forward to more night rides! Power and range… I’ve only had the wheel for a short time. But after a couple of short rides – I can say that this wheel is a GOAT! It’s got tons of torque that pulls me up hills with confidence, and I am 265lbs with gear and backpack on. It reminds me much of the Begode RS HT, but much more refined, and nimble, and huge beefy tire and rim that doesn't look like it's going to get bent any time soon. The software that Inmotion employs in the V12 is really impressive… far beyond any of the other wheels on the market. There are custom settings that allow you to set the acceleration and braking sensitivity to suit my riding style, limit speed based on battery availability, along with other safety integrations that should speak volumes to anybody who values safety. It’s clear that Inmotion really took the time to develop software that allows users to tune the wheel to their preferences. This is something I haven’t seen from any other wheel manufacturer that I’ve purchased, or seen on the market. In addition to “user comfort” I also appreciate their attention to detail with safety. The body is IPX5 certified, and batteries are IPX7. Water seems to be an issue for e-scooters, e-bikes, and euc’s… so it’s nice to see a company putting some time and development into preventing water intrusion, which in turn prevents bad things from happening. Kudos for that! Speaking of batteries, the V12 has a 1750wh battery, which isn’t really made for long hauls – but that’s not what the V12 HT (GOAT) is for! It’s made for dirt, hills, rocks, and off-road adventures. I haven’t had a chance to deplete a battery yet, but I’m certain that the battery will outlast the energy that I will have to ride off-road in a day. I’m guessing at least 6-8 hours of off-road fun can be had before needing to recharge. Overall, I’m really impressed with the Inmotion V12. My main wheel has been the V11 which is great for cruising around town on roads and bike paths – but I’m looking forward to doing more GOAT stuff on the V12. It’s got WAY more power, and some additional juice in the battery packs (compared to my v11) to increase safety and range off-road.😊 It's hard to deny Amazon’s return policy, and the extended warranty to cover your butt in the event of an accident or something stops working. If you’re on the fence… take the chance! EUC's are life changing. There’s not a lot to lose. Just don’t forget your safety gear! ... show more
