  • UPDATE BIOS
Color: Intel 12th I9-12900K + Prime Z790-P WiFi...
When i received my stuff, I noticed worse performance than my previous setup and after doing some research i found that ASUS and INTEL are not compatible without BIOS update on all their 12th, 13th, 14th gen chips. Also make sure your RAM voltage is the correct voltage for your CPU I found my 6500 DIMS was too high and I9 12900k likes 4800 and no more. So, if you're having issues try doing what i did and it might just be what is causing issues for you. After all the settings were correct, I am very happy with performance. ... show more

  • Wow
Board is very well made and HEAVY. good quality heatsinks Asus's software is pretty cool, makes checking and updating drivers a breeze. Didn't think I cared much for the rgb, but programing options with usefull presets make it a sweet feature. So far been pretty happy with the i9, not so much with windows 11. You won't see the true power of this chip until you start multitasking. I had cpu-z stress testing and clicked over to another window without thinking.... absolutely no hesitation. Games are running great besides long loading screens in some which seems to be a common windows 11 issue. X4 has always lagged, jumped, or went to a loading screen when gating to other systems. But no more, smooth seamless transition from one sector to the next. Wishing I had went with a better video card because this set has horsepower to spare. Definitely worth the money ... show more

  • Asus Disqualified Warranty / Intel i9 Chip was OK
Asus motherboard (MB) was a sham. I would never purchase a product from them again. Brand new MB (serial # R1M0KK02T6013VY) and the PC would not boot. There was an RMA (#USPCS33703) and the board was returned. Like the Youtube channel "Gamers Nexus" documentation, I was billed for repairs for approximately the cost of buying new. I did seek a competitor's part and I did so. The scam included photographs of numerous flaws which would not have resulted in boot failure. I was reading about failures with frequency on the reddit group for Asus, this story here is quite common. Buyer beware. The Intel core i9 12900K was functioning when placed in the replacement MB, so I know it wasn't the processor. The DDR5 memory was also functioning flawlessly, but when placed in the ASUS board - nada. If the vendor here would replace their instruction to contact Asus directly with simply getting a replacement from their stock it would be easier. ... show more

  • Graphics cards are extremely difficult install with this motherboard
I am a baby to building adult Legos, so fair warning on any of word choices or complex building components. I purchased this mb and the Red Devil AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT graphics card. I had the most DIFFICULT TIME placing the graphics card in the first slot. The clip does not make an audible clip noise when the graphics card slips in and the graphics card refused to be seated. It kept coming back out when I was testing to see if it was clipped in. I found out that the reason why is that the motherboard has it's own heatsink that sits on a chip. The height of the motherboard's heatsink is the EXACT height. I read other reviews that they had to return the motherboard. I know this sounds barbaric but I just took the motherboard out the case sat the motherboard on a sheet of foam core to cushion the bottom, and with both hands pressed evenly and pretty damn firmly. Enough that I got really nervous that I might break it. Then it finally clipped in place. IT WILL NOT MAKE AN AUDIBLE CLIP NOISE ONCE THE GRAPHICS CARD CLIPS IN. That was the most DIFFICULT and horrifying thing as a first time builder. Even guys that were helping me build that are very experienced with this were shocked on how much of a pain this thing was. Just to test to see if it was just my graphics card, the AMD Radeon RX6800 also didn't fit. I've read that this thing gave people serious headache with instillation. Just keep that in mind. Otherwise, no issues on my first build and this is a good combo. ... show more
