  • A great way to get started doing tattoos and for those already tattooing.
Color: Black Kit
An extremely good kit to start tattooing and even for when your of the fake skin and on to real skin the tattoo machine will still be reliable and a good all-rounder for any style your trying to do! And the needles are what I use on a regular basis for tattooing!

  • Would be 5 stars if the printer had worked
Color: Black Kit
This is a really nice tattoo kit that would have been 5 stars except that the printer makes really pale, patchy, unusable prints. I figure the printer is at least half the cost of the kit so I had to take off two stars for having such weak prints. However, the pen is good and the case is very nice. The extras are just what you need without any junk cluttering the space. The tattoo pen is easy to use. The screen readout is large and easy to read. The controls are responsive and changing speeds is easy. The one thing I don't love about the pen is that it allows the slightest bit of overhang of the cartridge needle when the pen is turned "off". For safety reasons, I really prefer a pen to fully retract the needle into the cartridge when turned "off" because it completely eliminates the possibility of accidentally getting poked with the needle. However, this is really common on entry level pens so I don't want to knock it too hard. The overhang is very slight on this pen. The case is really nice. It is made of a wipe-clean fabric and has a hard interior. There is a mesh zipper on the top interior and a large, open area in the bottom. It is big enough to hold everything in this kit and then some once you remove the boxes and wrappers. The transfer lotion works well to transfer prints from the transfer paper to the practice skins. It is easy to use, gives a clean transfer, and dries quickly. The ink is nice and dark. It sticks well to the cartridge needle and flows well. The gloves are large so I used my own. I also used my own grip tape, pen sleeve, and dental bib. The kit comes with a dental bib and grip tape. It does not come with pen sleeves. I also used my own practice skin because the kit comes with 1mm practice skins which are too thin. I use 3mm skins because they allow me to practice accurate needle depth. The needles work well for practice. They are nice and sharp. You get several 1207RS and 1003RL On to the unfortunate printer: The problem with the printer is that it would not give me a good quality print. I tried using two different pictures from the printer app's image bank. I used the printer paper included in the Inkin set for 3 of the prints with the Inkin printer and 1 with my regular printer paper on one of the Inkin printer prints. I made a print of a delicate flower in medium and high print density and neither were usable. I made a print of a thick tribal style flower in medium and high density. Both came out patchy but the tribal one was at least mostly visible. Every print I made with the Inin printer was patchy and unusable. I then grabbed my favorite printer and printed out a sample image at the default darkness and it is shown in my picture below the Inkin prints. The difference is obvious. I am disappointed that the printer was a dud. It completely killed the value of this kit for me. The rest of what you get is a very nice kit but a malfunctioning printer is no bargain. ... show more

  • Great starter kit!

Great kit for pros or beginners! The included stencil printer is extremely helpful

  • Get this for the pen, printer, and case, they are good. All necessity to start practice immediately
Color: Black Kit
Fantastic kit. The most complete beginner tattoo kit that I have ever used. The real claim to fame for this set is the stencil printer included, which is rare in a beginner tattoo kit. Stencil printer is really essential IMO and can easily make the difference between a self taught tattooer and a scratcher. I am going to be blunt and list all the good and the bad, even though I like the kit overall. The good: --Tattoo machine, or the tattoo pen, is excellent. Being a stroke adjustable machine really allows you to use a variety of needles and fine tune the problems with each needle type. The function is easy to control and the digital display is smooth and appears really high end. --Next is the stencil printer. This is a very capable printer and transfers images onto the paper reliably. Doesn't wrinkle the paper easily. Printer is also small, quick to charge, and power lasts you a long time. --The carrying case is fantastic, especially if you travel with your kit or just want to bring it to a friends or clients place. It's a good starting point, of course, you are going to need a few more items if doing tattoos on real skin. --The stencil transfer paper is excellent and better than most in that the backing is perforated and the protection sheet is actually clear plastic and not like a parchment paper which most other brand uses. The bad: --The stencil transfer gel is about the worst that I have used. Difficult to transfer onto skin and difficult to even squeeze out the bottle. The bottle is so stiff that I had to end up just opening the cap to pour out the gel. The second you start to rub it on your skin, it foams up. It also doesn't give you a very good transfer. My recommendation is to get some other stencil transfer gel. --Another bad, or something that I wish is better is the App that the printer uses. If you scan the QR code, it takes you to Google Play, which doesn't let you install onto iPad. I think it is meant for Android devices. If you use an iPad, You can bypass this problem by going to your iPad App Store to download the software called Tattoo Go by yourself. The software is also quite anemic. There are a few included images, but none of them are impressive. If you do your own stencil images, that is not a problem, but the software doesn't let you adjust the image size, as in change the size of the margin. Let's say you have a large image and want to scale down, you have to do it before importing it into the app. This is inconvenient and the first tattoo printer app that I have use that doesn't let you do that. So, good printer, not so good app. -- Fake skin is way too thin. At this thickness, it won't give you anywhere enough material to practice hitting the right depth. Everything else, including gloves, ink, dental bibs, are ok and serviceable. Don't get me wrong, even though I listed a couple problems, I still really like this kit. The pen and printer are capable of helping a beginner create decent tattoos, given some work and practice. Plus, if you are a home tattooer, you will appreciate the case soon enough. What is provided is enough to get started on tattooing fake skin immediately. If you are going to tattoo real skin, I would get some better ink, stencil gel, gloves, spray bottles, alcohol, green soap, towel, petroleum jelly, tape, paper towels, and plastic wrap. I also recommend a tattoo machine cover with elastic bandage tape. But yes, a good kit, especially for the printer. ... show more
