  • Solid!

I've always preferred IR for my pneumatic tools. They've never let me down. It's a great grinder and has the power if you've got the PSI and CFM's. It doesn't have a button for locking the collet so you'll still need 2 wrenches to loosen/tighten the collet. There is no speed adjustment. It feels good in the hand and functions as expected. I'm running it on a 20 gallon compressor that puts out 6.1 CFM's at 90 PSI. It eats up a lot of air so my compressor being only 20 gallons runs constantly but never drops below 90PSI when using the tool. But I don't have an ordinary 20 gallon compressor either, I've upgraded pulley sizes on my pump and motor, hi-flo couplers, copper tubing sizes, etc... Most compressors my size don't have the capability to run this tool for more than a limited amount of time. You'd probably want at minimum a 30gallon compressor for this tool that puts out 6cfm at 90PSI. ... show more

  • Make sure you really tighten the collet, because the these wrenches can’t apply the needed torque.
Style: Straight Pattern Name: Edge Series
Basically, this tool works well. It’s inexpensive. Yes, there are unknown brand Chinese tools that are even cheaper, but since a semi professional air die grinder like this costs close to $100, this isn’t expensive, though some reviewers seem to think it is, by measuring price from the cheapest as being normal. But having said that, the wrenches are too short. I know they saved a few pennies on the metal here, but these can’t tighten the collet enough. I found that when pulling the tool, the cutter would slowly move further out of the collet. When pushing the tool, it would slowly move inwards. Very dangerous! I had to use longer wrenches to properly tighten the collet. Then it was fine. Like all collets, you have to leave about 1/8” of the collet on the bottom empty. Otherwise when you try to remove the cutter, it can become stuck, and since you have to push it in to release the cutter, you won’t be able to. I mention this because if the cutter moves to the bottom of the collet because it wasn’t gripped enough, you might have problems getting it out again. ... show more

  • Nice product and great performance
Style: Straight Pattern Name: Edge Series
So I read some of the negative reviews on this product. Don't believe it. If there was a problem, it had to be one offs. Life is not perfect. I used this die grinder to sculpt my 02 silverado wheel well repair work. I used it to get to small places to grind down to metal while removing rust. I used it to sculpt the Bondo Glass fiber glass filler down by 1/4" or less to prepare it for the standard bondo filler to get it ready for painting. This grinder performed better than I expected. In fact, I just added it to my list of valued tools. I suspect most who purchase this tool will be using it on auto body work. So if you are looking for a great die grinder for your auto body repair project and don't want to break the bank but want quality and performance, this tool is for you. Good luck with your project! ... show more

I'm a mechanic by trade so I use these all the time. Easy to control the speed and at full speed they get moving. Nice and durable too. Can handle a drop and keep on cutting. Great deal for a great price. Very happy with this buy and would definitely recommend.

  • VALUE
Style: Straight Pattern Name: Edge Series
GREAT value for the money. Kicks all my snap on products asses and costs a fraction of what they do. Only slight issue I’ve had is the top nut loosens over time and needs to be retorqued occasionally You can tell because the air leaks through it and the tool looses a lot of power. Simply retighten and it’s back to normal. Definitely would recommend to anyone ... show more

  • Good die grinder
Style: Straight Pattern Name: Edge Series
Very nice build quality, nice RPM's able to produce sparks from a flap wheel. It's clearly a high quality product and I love it but still unsure if I should have chosen the 1/2 hp model over higher RPM's. The 1/4 collet clamps down on my 6mm bits just fine though it needs to be tight. The inlet is an NPT thread 18tpi, I guess this is an american thing. We use 1/4 BSP aro couplers in the shop which are 19 tpi. I was able to run a plug tap through it and it seals perfectly. Not much in the box, just the grinder and spanners, no spare collets though my Campbell Hausfeld collets look identical and seem to fit. Definitely worth a look if you're after a nice high speed die grinder. ... show more
