  • 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee using stock crossovers how to
I have been a huge fan of Infinity speakers going back to the 90's when I worked in the audio department at Best Buy. Back then they were some of our top end home audio speakers we sold. While working there I bought a pair of RS-5 tower speakers, RS-1 bookshelf speakers and a matching center channel. That was what, 30 years ago and I STILL HAVE THEM and they are still flawless! So when it came to car audio upgrades the first thing I did was search out Infinity. Bought this pair of 9630's for my Jeep Grand Cherokee front doors as a direct replacement to the stock Alpine ones Jeep comes with. So like I said my Jeep has the upgraded Alpine based 9 speaker stereo. My front doors speakers stock are already component style. Now obviously I wanted the best sound possible but at the same time was having a really hard time finding a good place for the included Infinity crossover. They are quite large and the inner door space is very limited for me. So once I had the inner door panel off I simply tapped into the existing speaker wires with some t-clips so as to connect the infinity speakers without doing any cutting. And to my surprise the Jeeps build in crossover that ran the Alpine speakers worked perfectly with these Infinity speakers! No clipping or distortion, no frequency overlap or anything. I tested them with Satellite radio, USB stick audio tracks, built in stereo's hard drive and even a couple video files. Not a single crackle or imperfection. So long story short, I ended up using some HSTECH 72-6514 speaker wire adaptors for the 6x9's so I wouldn't have to cannibalize any wiring down there and for the tweeter, I simple cut off the Jeeps adaptor plug with a few inches of its cable and soldered those wires to the leads coming from the Infinity tweeters and plugged them in. Clean easy install and sounds amazing! If anything blows out using the Jeeps built in crossovers I always have the Infinity ones laying around. So if you own a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011+ or 2011+ Dodge Durango (same wiring) this will work without sacrificing sound quality. The only things you loose is that +3dB button on the Infinity crossovers. Infinity tweeters are already brain shatteringly crisp. Using that +3dB button makes them just to overkill for me. I would have never used it and if you read around on these speakers most people are saying the same thing. So for all you Jeep Grand Cherokee owners that want to get ride of that muddy stock stereo sound these are a great upgrade. And you DO NOT need the Infinity crossovers or completely rewire to do it. I should have taken pictures but it never crossed my mind at the time. ... show more

  • More detail and bass response
I’m still amazed at the bass response I get from these in my factory 2017 F150 Lariat. The sound stage is really nice. I find myself enjoying the details in music so much now that my commute seems shorter. Speaker swap and a Spotify subscription really helps. I have the 6x9 and tweeter components. Had it professionally installed by a local shop. Could use some more power and equalization, but for just a speaker swap, the 3 ohm impedance really seems to make a difference. I do not have the Ford Sony system, so I can’t speak to that. Next upgrade would be to add amps and equalizer. This is known to cause issues with the start/stop system. I spent $100 on an electronic latch to turn it off or on when I want. I no longer have to hit the button every time I start the car. Amps may be an issue without start/stop disabled. ... show more

  • Great value for the price, might have an issue with the crossovers though.
These speakers sound absolutely amazing and they are the best value for the price. I have these and the kappas. However, I have one issue and I think it is with the crossover. I suspect that the tweeters are picking up on bass frequencies at times and when it happens is sounds horrible, like a crackling popping noise from the tweeters. Tried calling Harman and they really didn’t have an explanation. I’m running them from my head unit to the x-overs. For the time being I’ve just unplugged the tweeters and using the stock ones. Sounds good for now. ... show more

  • Wow! Impressive
What a difference! Replaced the front door factory speakers in my 2005 4Runner with these. The bass is tight, the sound is fuller and crisper than ever before. Powering these with an Infinity 6004a 60w amp. If you have a Toyota, you might want to look into mounting brackets. As you can see in my photos these speaker brackets aren't the same size as to factory one. ... show more

  • Nice Infinity
These are great 6x9 components. Clear and clean and don’t take a ton of power to sound good. More is better of course. They’re supposed to fit perfectly in a Gen2 Sequoia, but I had to use a spacer. Not a big deal overall, but would have been nice to know so I didn’t have to wait on spacers.

  • 40 year audiophile; these are the ones you want!
These cost $100. more at Crutchfield. Using the 6x9 components in an FJ Cruiser with just two channels on a Alpine KTA-450 amp. Amp gain at 3/5 and these speakers friggin thump clean! This sounds just as good as my $3k JL system in another vehicle (normal/common listening levels). No need for a sub unless you want the people two cars behind you to hear it also. ... show more

  • Outstanding value.
These are pretty outstanding. These are being driven by a factory amplified set up. And they absolutely pound. The bass is way above expectations. The tweeters are crisp and clear. Can't beat these for the price.

  • Great upgrade in 2015 Dodge charger with Alpine system
Amazing sound compared to the stock speakers. I have the Alpine system and have upgraded all the speakers but not the amplifier. Audiophile quality sound in my charger now. Must upgrade all your speakers to achieve the best possible sound. EQ settings will be very different than the stock speakers so be prepared for that. ... show more
