    • A BARGAIN AT 5 TIMES THE PRICE
I will be buying another pair for the doors of my 79 Ford Ranchero. I bought these as a temporary replacement for the mid/high section of my vintage Warfedale W2 speakers. My speakers use a 5 1/4 inch mid/high units that produced some of the cleanest midrange frequencies of any speake i've ever heard, but unfortunately the surrounds have been eaten away, and are odd size, but can be repaired. I needed something to to get me buy until the repair could be done on the original drivers. I decided to go with a coax automotive speaker as this would give me what i need to be able to just use my speakers until they are repaired. I've always loved Infinity, but was concerned about the fact Harman International now owns them, and was questioning the quality at that point knowing what they did to JBL. I also own a pair of Polk DB522 which are comparable in the price range, they are the door speakers for my classic 1979 Ford Ranchero which is currently under restoration. I removed them to compare with Infinity Primus what I was waiting to come in.. Inside my my speakers, the 5 1/4 speaker is housed in its own seperate enclosure . While waiting for the infinity's, i disassembled my speakers and installed the Polks and for testing purposes, no crossover was used at this time. The sound of the Polks in my cabinets was very good, but left alot to be desired in the high end, very dull and muted highs. The infinity's arrived and was excited to get them installed, not expecting anywhere near what I had with the original drivers, but hopeful they would at least get me by. I again installed them with no crossover , from the first note i was amazed. The clarity is stunning, very detailed midrange with crystal clear highs. I disconnected the woofer in my cabinets and let the infinity's run by themselves the bass is very smooth and accurate. I then installed a 12db oct crossover on them at 500 hz. Needless to say, i will not be repairing the original drivers for my speakers. My vintage Warfedales sound incredible. The Infinity's gave them new life. There were some things about my speakers that i did not care for, the Infinity's made all of that go away. I will be buying another pair for the doors of my Ranchero and will be replaceing the factory speakers in the truck with them as well. I just cant say enough good things about them. ... show more

Used as mid range / tweeter in rear door speakers in 2007 Chevy Tahoe with Bose sound system. Is a good fit in the factory mounts if you carve out all their innards, and install a 5-1/4" foam baffle, which I did to weather proof it. These speakers don't have a lot of low end, but I didn't want them to, since I have the two Bose subs under the console that kick out plenty of bass. ... show more

Awesome little 5 1/4 car door speakers. They put out a lot of sound for how small they are. I am running a CD player with no amp and they still sound amazing.
