  • Really awesome! Really awesome!
Color: Metallic Grey Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I was very nervous about dropping a hundred bucks on a hair styling tool of all things, but I'm really glad I did! I watched a couple of YouTubers try it out and decided it was worth an investment. I am the woman with the pink hair in the product images; my hair is product-free in the images and I took the photos after using the Curl Secret and then going out for the day. I think preference will vary from person to person with this product. I can absolutely see why some people who try this out still prefer more traditional curling tools. If you have trouble getting your curls to look right? Try this if you've been thinking about getting it. It does all the work for you and takes roughly the same amount of time as a curling iron. It's not super speedy or magical, but it's a really good tool! It's especially good for people who can't get the hang of clipless curling irons and are sick of dents being left by the traditional irons that have clips. Some things I was asked by friends when I told them about it, answered: -- Yes, it's easy! Case in point: I had my completely hair clueless husband do the back of my hair for me the other day and he did just fine! -- Yes, it works! I get great curls and they REALLY last, even without product (this will range based on hair type, most likely.) -- No, it does not eat/trap your hair while it's curling! The "hold" is very loose and, unless you manage to severely tangle yourself in it, it lets go just like that as soon as you release the clamp. -- Yes, you CAN get your hair stuck in it if you put too much in or partially miss the feed when inserting your hair. No, it is not hard to get it back out, and no, it is not hard to get your hair correctly fed through. -- No, it does not damage hair (no more than any other heating tool does, anyway.) My hair feels just as soft as before using it and there is no "crispiness." -- Yes, it works on long hair, though it works best on hair that's above shoulder length to just past the shoulders in length. If your hair is halfway down your back this may only be good for curls that start partway up instead of near the root. If that's what you prefer, awesome! To avoid your hair getting stuck*: -- Read the instructions. No brainer, I know! -- Make sure your hair is tangle free before using. -- Do not try to feed too much hair into it. 1.5"-1" is about as much as it can take. -- Mind the feed (stay to the middle.) -- Don't hold it backwards! The open side (with the exposed end of the barrel and text on the plastic) should be the side facing your scalp. *Sometimes it just happens, especially when you're doing the back of your head yourself! It's not hard to miss the feed when it's in your blind spot, but it's not as scary as it sounds. Don't panic; don't yank or tug. Remember: A few extra seconds of heat while you get your hair out isn't going to burn it off. Untangling it usually takes less time than it takes for properly fed hair to curl, but rough treatment may tear your hair out or get you legitimately stuck. The feed will push your hair out a bit so you can release pressure on the clamp and pull it out, holding by the roots with your fingers and wiggling gently as you go. 9/10 that's all it takes. ... show more

  • So far I am happy with this curler.
Color: Metallic Grey Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I read so many of the reviews that made it sound like my hair would be sucked up and claimed by this curler. I had visions of having to cut off my hair at the root to release it. I still decided to take a chance on it. I have long hair that is difficult to curl and doesn't hold curl very well, especially in humid weather. I can curl my hair when getting dressed, and by the time I get downstairs, it's straight again. Because of the past difficulty in curling my hair, I used the highest setting at the longest time. First of all, it beeped and flashed if I put too much hair in it. As a first-time user, it didn't get my hair stuck in it at all. When it beeped and flashed there was a problem, I released it and my hair came out without a problem. After the first use, I think I need to turn down the settings. It definitely made a lot of curl, and the curl didn't fall out even after brushing. There was too much curl and fluffiness for my liking. The next day after sleeping on it, I still had enough wave in my hair that I didn't have to curl it. I still have some learning to do as to how to use this curler, but I think it will work for me. It's just a matter of experimenting with the amount of curl I want and how close to my head that I want it. Since I wash my hair every other day, I am impressed that the curl lasts for the second day. To- date, I haven't had any other curling method that would last even one day. UPDATE: I have now used this curler about 4 times, and have gotten better with it. So far, I haven't had my hair get stuck in it even once. The trick is to keep strand of hair to 1-2 inches at the widest point, and to make sure it all fits in the channel of the curler. The first time I used the curler, I had it set to the high heat setting with the longest curl setting because my hair is usually difficult to curl and doesn't hold curl. I also started the curl within 3 inches of my head. Doing it this way, the style was much too "bushy" for my liking. The second time, I used the low heat setting with the longest curl cycle, and started the curl 4-5 inches from my head. I also held the curler closed for a few seconds past the 3 beeps for done. Doing it this way, the style was great - not bushy, but perfect curls. Using other curling methods, my hair was usually straight the next day after sleeping on it. After using this curler, there was still a lot of body and plenty of waves when I brushed it out. I didn't have to curl it again or pull it back like I have done in the past. At this point, I would highly recommend this curler for anyone with long, hard to curl hair. Follow the directions that come with the curler, and you won't have any problems with it. ... show more

  • It works fairly well BUT ONLY WHEN I HOLD and COUNT PAST THE MAXIMUM TIMER on highest setting It works fairly well BUT ONLY WHEN I HOLD and COUNT PAST THE MAXIMUM TIMER on highest setting
Color: Metallic Grey Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I purchased the dark purple unit and received a unit in the typical branded Conair box. I have fine, poker straight hair that is reluctant to take and hold a curl. I found on the highest heat, for the longest duration, this product would NOT properly curl my hair. The end result was barely a curl at the end and a very subtle wave that quickly fell out in the humidity (40% humid here). I noticed the 12 second setting only lasted ~9.5 seconds (when timed with stopwatch on phone) because the countdown happens starting when the curling iron begins to suck in your hair --- NOT when the beeping starts after loading is completed. I called customer support and was told to return the unit as it sounded defective. I received my replacement quickly. I believe it to be hotter, however the timing is exactly the same. My hair is long and as such i lose a fair amount of time during ingestion. WHAT I FOUND, however, is if I count to five AFTER the beeping stops - I can cook my hair for longer which results in the curl/wave I desire. This curl lasts longer than most curling irons though I've definitely had better from one of those expensive ceramic irons where you have to use a glove as it gets so hot there's no clasping mechanism on the wand or it'd leave a kink. (that other curling iron will hold curly queue curls that make you look like you were born with curly hair even by the lake for a full day-- ... this one is better for waves if you have stubborn hair). When adding the extra time on the highest setting -- I have curly queue curls that last up to a couple hours, then waves. By the next morning I have additional body and just a subtle flip/wave at the end of my hair. Which meets my needs, as I really just wanted an easier way to get wavy hair. As for the unit it's fairly easy to use. You definitely need to be mindful about maintaining narrow chunks that aren't too deep or thick or you won't get the right amount of heat, and the unit is very likely to choke on anything which exceeds its expectations. Most times the unit chokes on your hair it's easy to fix. A couple times it took a bit of careful unweaving and untangling to release my hair. You can burn yourself with this, if you inadvertently touch the open end where the hair goes in to your head while 'cooking' (that's the side that must face you anyway). However it's harder to burn yourself than with a normal iron. This unit isn't much faster if at all than a normal iron however automating the winding/ingestion of your hair does make it go a bit faster than old fashioned winding by hand -- and it's easier on your body because you don't have to twist your wrist while holding it in an awkward position. Because of the required position of the unit (always facing your head directly) the only way to get the back of my hair is to pull my hair to the side at an angle (not all that unusual for any iron though more so with this one) so you have to fluff your hair a bit to hide the part this creates naturally at the back of your head. This unit isn't ideal for the small piece by the front of my face (bangs-ish layer) because of the angle required due to size of the unit. ... show more

  • The Solution for Hair that Never Curls!!
Color: Metallic Grey Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I have long and very very straight hair. I could never hold a curl, and I tried everything!! Even the curls that a professional would do for me, wouldn't last an hour. I have spent so much money on fancy curling irons and wands, and NOTHING WORK! This product though was a LIFESAVER for me!! For the first time, I have curls.. THAT STAY! At first, I was very worried about this product. After reading review after review about hair tangling, I was scared at first to even buy it. Especially since my hair is very easy to tangle. But I got it for Christmas and I tried it out. This product worked perfectly. JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and you will not have a problem. Also, when you are using it, you can feel if your hair is about to tangle, if thats the case JUST LET GO OF IT. The reason why people's hair get serious tangles inside the iron is because they don't let go quick enough, so it continues to try to curl your hair inside the inner barrel. If you feel like it is pulling your hair, then let go and then USE SMALLER HAIR SECTIONS. Make sure there are no tangles or stray hair interfering with the curling of your hair. Also, make sure that the barrel is not tilted. This can cause the hair to shift and tangle. Make sure its parallel to your head. Also, it doesn't get hot on the outside, So it is easier to handle. I am more afraid of a regular curling iron about burning my hair than this product. The only con I have is that it is a arm workout to use it. Its not that lightweight so having your arm up for that long makes your arms sore a little. It took me about 30 mins to curl all my hair (again I have very long and straight hair) This product is awesome!! ... show more

  • BUY THIS CURLING IRON BUY THIS CURLING IRON
Color: Metallic Grey Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Ok, I’m going to be honest with y’all: I am a girl who, up until a week ago, knew how to do like, 4 things to my hair and make it look *somewhat* presentable. I could blow dry it straight, pull it back into some sort of nest on top of my head, put some product in it and let it dry, and sometimes make it look good with a diffuser (I have wavy/slightly curly hair naturally). YOU NEED THIS CURLING IRON. I was terrified of the idea of it at first, but I got it at a reduced price the day or two after Christmas after not getting it from Santa. I wasn’t sure how it was going to work for me because any other hair tool I’ve gotten to make my hair look fabulous I could never figure out (or I was just too lazy to take my time with it). The fact that it kinda “sucks” your hair into it was enough to make me uncomfortable about it at first, but I figured I’d give it a shot because it was a bit cheaper than it was a few days earlier. Y’all. This thing is virtually foolproof. I was nervous the first few curls I did because I was certain it was going to suck my hair into it, get stuck, catch on fire, send me running frantically around the block until I stuck my head in a snow drift, and leave me with a bald spot. But then, this amazing thing happened: I tried to put too much hair into the chamber (because, again, I’m lazy), and it just stopped. It wouldn’t suck the hair into the chamber. It stopped. It forces you to use the appropriate amount of hair for each curl not only for safety, but for optimal results. I’ll even admit that the first time I used it on New Year’s Eve, I was one day post-wash and didn’t feel like washing and drying just to try this thing out, and even though it says for optimal results to use on freshly cleaned, dry hair (I know what you’re thinking: “you lil rebel, you.” And, I am), it still turned out fabulously. LAZY GIRLS, THIS IS YOUR DREAM CURLING IRON. The first time I used it, I used it on the 12 second setting and it took me nearly 45 minutes to get through all my hair (I don’t have especially thick hair, but I have a decent amount of hair). You guys? I’ve used it 3 times in the last week and last night, I’ve gotten so good at it that it only took me about 25 minutes to curl my whole head. I immediately fell in love with this thing, but here’s where I’m sold on it. Yesterday evening, I curled. I went out on the town, things happened that I’m not sure I remember (not due to any brain damage from the heat of the iron, but because of my own poor decision making completely unrelated to this purchase), and it’s cold as balls outside so I was wearing a hat and a hood when I was outside. I went home, slept on it, laid around all day on it (we’ll say I “came down” with a 24 hour “flu”), pulled it back in a ponytail, decided I needed to go get something to eat, took it out of the ponytail, brushed it out, used no extra product (last night I sprayed a minimal amount of extra hold hairspray that I should probably write a review on next), and while it doesn’t look the same as it did yesterday, I’m still getting complimented on it and I still feel fabulous despite my current state. Pictures are attached. ... show more

  • FINALLY something that curls my fine hair!
Color: Metallic Grey Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I have never written a review but I feel so strongly about this product I want to let people know that I love it! I have a medium amount of fine, straight hair that does not style very well, and does not hold curls very well at all. I recently curled my hair for a friend's wedding with a regular hair curler and I had to curl it TWICE since by the time i was ready to go it had gone limp. I had thought about buying the Infiniti Pro but I was always daunted by the idea of it. I've read a lot of reviews for this product before saying "what do I have to lose" and buying it. And I love it! My hair curls beautifully with this device and most important to me- the curls stayed in my hair! I curled my hair yesterday and I woke up this morning with curls- albeit a bit bed head-y. PROS: -Heats up fast -Adjustable curl setting (loose- tight curls) -Adjustable heat (I definitely need low heat for my fine hair!) -Easy to use. I read the instructions very carefully, especially the pictures of how to hold it, and I had no problems. -Curls come out gorgeous and last!! CONS: - Your hair will tangle at least once. However, I only had it happen twice during my whole time using it and it was VERY easy to remove. If the curler beeps quickly, it will enable an autorelease function and your hair will be fine. But you HAVE to read the directions and make sure you are using it the right way! -Curls smaller amounts at once than a regular curler. With my finer hair, I was able to curl about an inch or so at once but anymore and it would tangle. Definitely make sure to brush out your hair carefully and don't give it more than it can handle. Overall, I highly recommend this product! ... show more

  • Not for thin delicate hair!
Color: Metallic Grey Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
So excited to use this! It’s not for children so don’t buy it for them. My daughter is 9 and she burnt her hair trying to use it while I wasn’t aware. Her hair is now in bad shape. My hair is long and thin. I thought I would never get this thing out of my hair. It pulled in the strand and got stuck several of times . There is no release once your hair is in it. By the time you get it out..there is burnt hair and you have done ripped half the strand of hair off. I Did give it a few tries and failed. Not worth it. Definitely didn’t work for me. Not for thin delicate hair. Does look to be made well though. Heavy duty and not cheep. No problems with it heating and spinning 😂. I’m definitely not a go by review person my review could be different then yours so I did give it three stars for shipping and it did power on ... show more

  • which is my favorite result - loose curls
Color: Metallic Grey Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
The product works as expected. My hair is heavy and very straight and could never be curled before, with traditional methods. It is the first time I get to actually curl my hair and it lasts, even overnight. I have been trying the curler frequently to get an idea of the duration of the curls, and it seems to hold the entire day. I haven't been out yet though, with my hair curled, as I feel self-concious. As I said I never haid curly hair before, so I need some getting used to. You can create different looks depending on what you do after you curl your hair. For example, you can curl all the hair, then leave as is (artificial looking curls, but looks nice); or you can comb lightly with your fingers, which is my favorite result - loose curls, a very natural look in my opinion; you can brush or comb the hair with a brush with spaced teeth, and it results a look with more volume, more wavy than curly... I guess you could also curl only the tips of the hair, or the bottom half if your hair is long, to have a wavy look, and so on. It doesn't seem to damage my hair or anything like that. I also noticed that if you hold a few seconds after the beep, the curl looks better, but not sure if it is only my impression. I find it a little difficult to work the back of the head, but with patience, it's possible. The curls are not getting very nice on the back yet, which reflects more my ability than the product eficiency. I suggest you comb the hair, then divide it in several sections (like a hairdresser) and tie each section, then start working from the bottom back, then up, then start moving to the front of the head. Be sure to comb with a close-teeth comb each strand before you apply the machine. I haven't had a tangle and it's very easy to follow the instruction on the right way to position the machine. Overall I love the product, my only complaints are minimum: the user guide is not very clear about the setting combinations (there is a button high/low and a nother with 8/10/12 and it's not clear which combination results which kind of lock, etc.); also, the product has no thread tier built in, which annoys me, and the handle/lid doesn't lock, so it keeps open when stored. ... show more
