I’m excited to see that I have sprouts in less than a week in all but two. The directions were clear and easy to follow plus there’s a quick guide for those that don’t want to read more lengthy instructions. I think it’s important to follow the directions on your seed packets as well. I followed the instructions on my seeds and soaked the tomato and lettuce seeds in water for 12-24 hours then I followed the instructions for the ahope garden and there were literally sprouts from the tomato seeds within 3 days! The picture included is 6 days in. I wanted this to make salads and to have some herbs eventually. We’ll see how everything turns out but so far so good. The price point on this is very good as well. I didn't know anything about planting strawberries but I wanted to try out hydroponics because it's fascinating to be able to grow things without soil. I bought a cheap strawberry seed packet on Amazon, and I planted 10 pods of 3-4 seeds each in my Ahopegarden hydroponic kit. I'm about 7 weeks out from planting, and I'm getting some small flowers now. Pump still runs as expected. The two different lighting modes could be a bit better explained/labeled. I initially used the "fruit" mode because I thought strawberries are fruits. Then my brain kicked in and I said "wait that makes 0 sense." After reading the manual more carefully, the lighting modes are "vegetable" to encourage more leaf growth and "fruit" to encourage flowering and fruit development. Just got it so not set up yet. Came well packaged and the instruction booklet is very thorough. Seems well thought out and I like that you can use your own seeds as I have varieties I’m partial to. Can’t wait to get started!

As my first foray into hydrponic gardening this kit was ordered and received within 24 hours courtesy of Amazon Prime. Received well packaged and in good nick with all the materials needed for me to get it set up within about 10 minutes. Initiallly, the pump did not work and the unit did not automatically turn off for the first 24 - 36 hours. I had contacted the company via email & was preparing to return the entire thing in disgust when I turned it off and on again for maybe the 20th time and the pump came on. I observed it's operation for the next 2 days and both the pump and the lights have cycled off and on as they should. The company representatives claim it isn't uncommon for the units to behave like this when they've sat for a while. This is not normal behavior for electronics and leaves me with grave misgivings regarding the quality and longevity of these products. However, I registered the device and activated the warranty and given the price point if it lasts more than 1 or 2 years I will be satisfied. ... show more

Very easy setup and instructions. Sleek style. The grow lamp has multiple functions and is adjustable. Hoping to grow an abundance of salad in this. My 4 year old helped me set it up and put the seeds in the pods. Descent size for a 10 pod.

We have the 60 well system, but wanted to plant additional seeds, so we got the 10 well unit. Compact and easy to use. Bak Choi started sprouting in 24 hrs. A lot easier to manage than the larger 60 well version. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

I will note that the documentation leaves a little to be desired but a little research beyond the documentation has cleared up some of the confusion.
