Description

Indian Frankincense is a natural aromatic resin obtained from trees of the Boswellia genus. This product contains frankincense resin from the botanical species Boswellia Papyrifera. Frankincense and the oil produced from it have been recognized throughout history for their distinctive aroma and their use in traditional cultural practices. Historical records show that frankincense has been valued in the Middle East for thousands of years and was famously presented as a gift to Christ by the Magi. Frankincense has also been referenced in ancient writings and traditions for its role in incense, perfumes, and ceremonial use. The resin forms when the tree releases sap through natural openings in the bark. Over time, the sap solidifies into the familiar golden resin tears commonly known as frankincense or olibanum. The process of forming these resin pieces takes several weeks as the sap naturally hardens after exposure to air. Harvesting typically occurs during the warmer months before seasonal rains begin. Because this is a natural tree resin, the size, shape, and color of the pieces may vary slightly from batch to batch. Product Details Product: Natural Frankincense Resin Botanical Name: Boswellia Papyrifera Form: Natural resin tears Aroma: Traditional frankincense scent when burned as incense Important Notice The size, shape, and color of the resin you receive may vary slightly from the product images due to natural variations in the material.

  • Smells Divine
I ordered this after coming home from vacation. I was amazed at the number of times we went into businesses and smelled incense burning. Many of the people advised that they burn incense for various reasons including using it as a perfume. This was one of the first I bought to burn with charcoal and my burner. The smell is fragarent and mild. It isn't to strong. If you like burning incense. You will be pleased ... show more

  • Not Boswellia Serrata
Rip-off Alert! The item description, warehouse item barcode, and label say that this is boswellia serrata (Indian Frankincense). But then down at the bottom of the description on the package itself it mentions boswellia papyrifera (Sudanese or Ethiopian Frankincense). The two are different species, from different areas, and have very different scents when burned. This is low grade stuff at best, but that's not shocking for the price. It has a light aroma when burned, but it's clearly boswellia papyrifera (which is also cheaper for suppliers to buy in bulk), and not boswellia serrata like it claims. ... show more

  • Great quality.
Both for burning as an incense and healthy snack to chew on. You might get one here and there that's a little dumpy or not good, but that's how it is found in the nature.

  • Unpleasant odor
I find this product it's not have a good sent at all in fact it almost smelled like burning plastic I've been using frankincense for some time and this is not what I ordered this is terrible stuff.

  • I got this, heated it up, there was almost no scent
I am not sure what this is supposed to do, but upon heating it, there was next to no fragrance. I didn't want the smoky smell of regular incense. I guess I blew $10.
