Note: the item I ordered, received, and am reviewing is "3 Pcs Fake Eggs for Laying Hens in Chicken Coop, Train to Lay Inside Nest Box, Beige" which doesn't match the listing anymore (which now appears to be an incubator), but I'm still reviewing these eggs because I like them a lot and hope the listing returns to the original items. I ordered these three fake eggs because I have laying hens who sometimes get a little weird or irresponsible about laying eggs in random, inconvenient places, so I occasionally add fake eggs to their nesting boxes to gently remind the hens where they should pay their egg tax to me. I have lavender maran chickens that lay beige eggs, so it is nice to have fake eggs that match the hens' actual eggs. The other fake eggs I own are ceramic, which I'm always worried will break when one of the hens discovers my ruse and decides to launch the fake egg out of her nesting box and into the side of the coop wall, so these appearing to be made of solid wood intrigued me. I think these will hold up much nicer than the typical fake training eggs. They certainly look nicer; in fact, I kind of fear I'm going to mistake these for my maran's eggs when I'm collecting eggs because these are such a close match in color and size. They have an appropriate weight to them. I weighed one at about 36 grams, which is about the weight of 6 U.S. quarters. These fake eggs appear to be made of a very high quality material and well painted. They won't be as cold on my hen's chest as ceramic eggs would be. They won't hurt as much as a ceramic egg if one hen back-kicks it into another hen. If one of my hens goes broody, these will be a kind replacement to offer in trade when I collect the real eggs she is laying on. Having three of them to pile together will let me influence which nesting box the hens decide is the "good" nesting box (experienced chicken owners know what I'm talking about.) I really like these and hope to order more to match my other hens' egg colors.

Review of 3pc Incubators for Hatching Eggs, Fake Eggs for Laying Hens in Chicken Coop, Train to Lay: I ordered these fake eggs for my niece who has started to raise chickens. I have to say I am really impressed by them. They definitely look and feel like real chicken eggs. The weight and texture of them is spot on. What a great way to encourage a young hen to lay eggs in a coop nest.

These are actually solid wooden eggs not incubators which the description first leads you to believe. They have a brown coating and are chicken egg size. These eggs are great for carving because the wood is firm and not too hard. You could decorate These as Easter eggs , permanent marker will adhere well. Acrylic paint may stay on however I think it may scrape off due to the texture of the coating on the egg. I used these for carving and they worked out well.

I purchased the 3 piece fake eggs to help train some of the hens that were not laying eggs in the laying boxes. They were constantly laying underneath or around the boxes, so I thought I'd give these fake eggs a try to see if it would help. The eggs are very realistic looking. So much its hard to tell the difference between the fake and real eggs. The size and shape are perfect, and the color is almost identical to the eggs our hens lay. They are a little heavier than eggs, and they have a little bit of shine to them that helps when trying to tell the difference in the eggs. They are made very durable, and should last a long time. After putting these in the boxes, one hen started laying beside the fake egg the next day, and continues to lay beside it every day. Another two hens started laying a couple days later. I was going to switch them to other boxes but decided to keep them in the same spot until the hens get used to laying. These have made it easier when collecting eggs for the day, as well as saving some eggs from getting broken from being stepped on on the ground or the chickens messing with them. Overall, I'm satisfied with the change its made for the hens laying and it was a simple solution to the problem. These are inexpensive and solved a problem with my hens. I give these Five Stars.
