  • Pretty good
Works very well for snake eggs. Im sure if this was used for birds, the temperature may fluctuate because of the material its made of. The latch can be easily opened, so be careful to place it somewhere away from pets and children. Overall pretty good for what I needed it for.

  • Surprisingly excellent! And no I did not want to make an egg pun there.
Okay guys. I did not expect this to actually be as good as it is. I have emus and wanted to hatch out a couple of their eggs. Two fit perfectly in one tray with automatic turning rollers. You could fit four snuggly in there but would have to hand turn them. This little contraption has kept the temperature at exactly 97.5 where I set it consistently. I unlatch the door because I need the humidity at around 35% and having it locked close makes the humidity much higher than that. Even with the door slightly a jar, it has no problem keeping it at the temperature I want. Multiple thermometers and hydrometers confirm that it is completely consistent with its temperatures and humidity control. People are right, the handle is really cheap, but it doesn't affect the performance in any way, so who cares. It is absolutely a "set it and forget it" device, with the exception of filling the water bottle once a week. It is also very easy to follow directions and set the parameters. When we lost power, it didn't lose the settings either. When we got power back, it went right back to doing what it was doing with what I programmed it at! The air circulation fan is a nice touch, the alarms are an okay touch. If you're looking for a giant industrial incubator for your hatchery, this is not for you. If you're looking for a smaller yet versatile one with a lot of bells and whistles for the price for your hobby farm, this one's great! ... show more

  • High Humidity!
It is a cheap incubator. Seems to be maintaining temperature very well. Humidity however is a whole another story. Humidity has been very hard to control. As soon as I hook the water bottle to the incubator the humidity shot up to 80%. After taking the bottle off draining the hose it's still took almost a day to get the humidity even close to 60%, but other than that seems to be turning the eggs fine and temperature seems to be a very good constant ... show more

  • My little chicken microwave!
I call this my “little chicken microwave” because it’s such a quick and easy way to hatch chicks. It is a great incubator for beginners, although I don’t believe you could actually hatch 24 as claimed (not enough space). The automatic turner works well, and I love being able to see everything through the clear door without opening it and losing heat or humidity. I do recommend setting the temperature and humidity manually instead of relying on the auto modes, as I found it more consistent that way. Once dialed in, it runs steadily and works great. Overall, this is a solid starter incubator with helpful features and a simple setup, and a fair value for the price. ... show more

  • GREAT!! ...with 2 caveats (please read)
I have used so many different styles of incubators (none of them were industrial-grade, all household but many different varieties) and so far this may be my favorite one based on how reliable it is to operate at stable temps/humidity, and how easy it is to see and access eggs and chicks. Before I sing all my praises for this thing, there are two very important things to consider before you buy/use it: 1. It will NOT fit 24 chicken eggs. 2. Temp & humidity control is amazing, but the defaults are wrong and you should set them manually. More on both of these points later. What I *love* about this incubator: - Small footprint. The vertical stacking and the rectangular form factor allow me to put this on a much smaller surface than circular incubators with a similar capacity. It is really easy to put on any counter, with the only extra space being the water bottle. - Excellent temperature and humidity control. As long as the water doesn't run out and the vents aren't all the way open, this maintains both temperature and humidity to exactly what it's set to. If either drops (from opening the door or having the vents open too much) it comes back up very quickly. Much faster than most of my other incubators. - The window!!! It's so fun watching the eggs "bake" like in a little oven. And when the chicks hatch, it's really great to be able to see them face-to-face rather than from the top or through a curved surface that distorts everyone's view. We had a great bonding experience with the chicks as soon as their eyes opened and really got familiar with each other before we got to take them out. - Almost everything is accessible from the front (exception: vents are on the back and hard to set if you can't see them). All the buttons, the door/window, even the candling light, everything is on the front, which lets you put this all the way back against a wall or corner. The styrofoam it comes with is in two pieces, one can stay on all the time, and another cleverly fits over the front but dodges all the controls and cords, so it's really easy to remove and put back if you're opening or looking through the door. - 2 separate trays and separately adjustable rollers means you can alternate schedules, even having one tray incubating and rolling while another tray is on lockdown and hatching. (As long as you're OK with them sharing the same temps/humidities, I know everyone is different on this point - Hatch rate - my first round with this, I unfortunately had a bad batch of eggs (most were not fertile or had gotten frozen). Of the 3 eggs that ever showed any signs of fertilization, ALL hatched. I know it's hard to judge 100% hatch rate on just 3 eggs, but I'm very pleased!! Okay, back to the warnings/complaints: 1. The 24 egg capacity is misleading. It's way too small for that. I could at MOST fit 8-9 SMALL chicken eggs per tray. Larger eggs might only fit about 6 per tray. So, overall just over a dozen. NOT two dozen. And if/when they all hatch, the tray is sooo small, you really wouldn't want more than 4-ish chicks per tray it during their dry-off period or it will get too crowded. Furthermore, if you have both trays in, it's a very short headspace for chicks or anything larger. Next time I use this, if I still have two trays' worth of developing eggs as we approach hatch day, I think I'll switch them to one of my larger incubators for lockdown. If there's only one tray's worth of eggs (as with my first hatch here) the top tray can simply be removed giving them more headspace. 2. The presets are actually pretty cool, including settings that change based on day for chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, quail... HOWEVER I think the chicken setting is wrong. It was set to 100.5, but mass consensus is 99.5 °F in a forced-air incubator, which this is. To use different temperatures from the presets, you have to go into manual mode which is confusing (it's represented by a picture of a lock and a "24" which I thought meant lockdown but actually worked for the entire duration). So, just use your own settings and it will work great. In summary, very good hardware, very thoughtful design, a successful first hatch. But it's much smaller than the listing would lead you to believe, and you should set you own temperature and humidity targets. ... show more

  • Perfect for your homestead!
This egg incubator arrived well packaged and feels thoughtfully designed. It comfortably holds up to 24 eggs, and the automatic egg turner works smoothly without jostling the eggs. The unit feels sturdy and easy to understand right out of the box. I appreciate how hands-off the automatic turning feature is, as it removes the need for constant monitoring. The incubator maintains temperature consistently, and the clear lid makes it easy to check on the eggs without disturbing the environment inside. Overall, this is a solid incubator for beginners or backyard poultry keepers. It’s easy to set up, functions as expected, and offers helpful features that make the hatching process more manageable and less stressful. ... show more
