  • Surprisingly excellent! And no I did not want to make an egg pun there.
Okay guys. I did not expect this to actually be as good as it is. I have emus and wanted to hatch out a couple of their eggs. Two fit perfectly in one tray with automatic turning rollers. You could fit four snuggly in there but would have to hand turn them. This little contraption has kept the temperature at exactly 97.5 where I set it consistently. I unlatch the door because I need the humidity at around 35% and having it locked close makes the humidity much higher than that. Even with the door slightly a jar, it has no problem keeping it at the temperature I want. Multiple thermometers and hydrometers confirm that it is completely consistent with its temperatures and humidity control. People are right, the handle is really cheap, but it doesn't affect the performance in any way, so who cares. It is absolutely a "set it and forget it" device, with the exception of filling the water bottle once a week. It is also very easy to follow directions and set the parameters. When we lost power, it didn't lose the settings either. When we got power back, it went right back to doing what it was doing with what I programmed it at! The air circulation fan is a nice touch, the alarms are an okay touch. If you're looking for a giant industrial incubator for your hatchery, this is not for you. If you're looking for a smaller yet versatile one with a lot of bells and whistles for the price for your hobby farm, this one's great! ... show more

  • Pretty good
Works very well for snake eggs. Im sure if this was used for birds, the temperature may fluctuate because of the material its made of. The latch can be easily opened, so be careful to place it somewhere away from pets and children. Overall pretty good for what I needed it for.

  • No replacement parts
Great machine. Consistent humidity and temps. Biggest issue the humidity pads - they get dirty easy and no replacements are sold. WTH

  • First time user of cabinet style incubator
The media could not be loaded. I was only able to fit 19 chicken eggs in this incubator. Yesterday was day 19; time to remove the rollers. I had atleast 4 chicks peeping. This morning one was hatched. Then a 2nd. A 3rd on top is working its way. One on bottom is vastly bursting out. This process is so much easier that the "old Styrofoam" incubators. I'm rating 5/5 because it is such a simple procedure! Video shows how we hooked up the battery (incase power loss.) I definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Small incubator, great for small eggs!
Decent unit for the price. Better for smaller eggs. Overall: recommend, IF you're incubating quail, pigeon, or bantam eggs. As always, I use a separate thermometer and adjust as needed for my situation. Every incubator should be double checked, I even do this with my name brand units. Once I get the settings where I need them, the styrofoam securely in place, this unit holds temps like a champ. Humidity management is simple with the water bottle system. I have had to add an extra sponge to the bottom during lockdown to boost humidity, but that's pretty standard with small units. I have hatched regular size chicken eggs, smaller silkie/bantam eggs, and quail in this. I mostly use it for quail because it fits way more quail eggs than chicken eggs. One caveat: sometimes quail will jump out of the basket and fall down into the bottom. I solved this by 3d printing a tiny "shelf" to sit on the front of the basket and keep them from falling. I enjoy being able to turn on the interior light and check on my hatchlings. I cannot speak to the built in candling light. When I do a quick check of my eggs I use a high powered hand held flashlight which is quicker and more effective as I can check the eggs in place then quickly put the tray back. Now for the drawbacks. This is not the easiest unit to clean. Yes, the inside is smooth plastic, but the vents allow fluff and debris to get all over the inner workings and unscrewing the entire thing is a pain. Also the humidity pads get nasty really quickly and I have not found a good source for replacements. Thankfully the sponge is a viable workaround. ... show more

  • By far the best incubator we have owned
The media could not be loaded. This incubator is not only the largest, but also has a super important feature that puts it above and beyond any other that we have owned. This is the auto sensing, auto switching power supply that instantly kicks on to use a 12V battery in the case the 110V power goes out. We have lost several clutches over the years due to power outages in the middle of the night and not knowing until it was too late. Along with those amazing features, this also is so simple to use. The temperature and humidity controls are absolutely amazing, and also very accurate (checked with a separate wireless humidistat). The timed auto rotation works flawlessly, giving your eggs the best chance of being viable by simulating the shuffling movement a hen would do naturally. The only part of this device is the door latch is a bit flimsy, but it is functional and seals fine. Overall, this is an amazing incubator and is the best we have owned. ... show more

  • High Humidity!
It is a cheap incubator. Seems to be maintaining temperature very well. Humidity however is a whole another story. Humidity has been very hard to control. As soon as I hook the water bottle to the incubator the humidity shot up to 80%. After taking the bottle off draining the hose it's still took almost a day to get the humidity even close to 60%, but other than that seems to be turning the eggs fine and temperature seems to be a very good constant ... show more
