This in wall recessed mount is the only way to go. My 40" Samsung looks incredible as it "floats" on the wall with no visible signs of a mount. This mount would be really simple to install if the center of your wall, or wherever you mount the TV, is in between a stud bay. It's wasn't so simple for us. The center of my wall was lined up directly with a stud. To make matters worse, on one side of the stud was a return air bay and the other side of the stud had duct work running up it. Long story short, we had to cut and seal off all but about 4 inches of the duct work in order to make room for the mount. We also had to add a couple 1x4s in the wall to shore up the mount since it was not in between two wall studs. In the end, this was completely worth it! Everyone who has seen it is in awe. The TV is so close to the wall, I added a few of those clear rubber bumpers so the back of the TV would not scratch my wall. A couple things to note... My 40 inch wasn't quite able to pivot 90 degrees once the arm was fully extended. It came close, maybe 80 degrees, which was just fine for my viewing needs. I say this because I think in the description says up to a 42" would turn 90 degrees. The other thing I wanted to bring up is customer service from AV-Express. I emailed them before ordering with a couple of concerns I had for my particular mounting situation. They were quick to respond and provided a thorough response. I was impressed. Best recess wall mount that I've used and gets your TV as close as possible against It has 4 slot you can punch out to add all sorts of outlet or inside the mount. The thing is super sturdy because you mount it inside inbetween your stud (house stud has to be 16 on center) and secure it with 2 lag screw ( big bolt screws). This is a product I would buy again, actually this the 2nd unit I've bought. First one was mine and this one was for my old man after him seeing my setup. Pros - Super flush against the wall. Options to add outlets. Full motion adjustment. Sturdy Cons - Can be hard to install for someone that isn't as handy. Very Inportant Info - Your wall stud has to be 16" on center or you are going to have a hard time fitting this mount inbetween your stud. ... show more

I thought the mount was made from quality material and I was surprised by the weight of the mount. Our house is about 75 years old and studs are a little under 16" spacing had to remove/chisel the opening a little for it to fit but it went in the opening fine and the mount fit well covering the entire opening nicely. The tv sits very close to the wall and it moves and pivots very easy. Surface mounted mount would have been a little faster and easier to install but I think the couple of inches makes a big difference and I'm glad I went with this mount. Far more reasonably priced than other recessed mounts but real quality. ... show more

Great mount for what we needed, easy to install. It actually fit our 65” Samsung flat screen even though it says 55”. We’re not worried about the weight since our 65” is the same weight as our 55”.

    • Works great with a Samsung Frame 55"
I hunted around quite a bit for a mount that would let us hang a Samsung Frame 55" TV flat on the wall, but would also allow the TV to be pulled out from the wall and swivel from side to side. Great news that this mount does all of that! The VESA adapter included with this mount works perfectly and you can ditch Samsung's stock mount. The length of the arm allows us to pull the 55" Frame away from the wall and swivel it around +/- 45 degrees, and tilt it as well. When finished, it's easy to then push the TV back against the wall so it looks just like a hanging picture. All hardware was included to recess the wall box into drywall, and it sat perfectly between two 16" studs in our room. The setup is rock solid--even when the TV is fully extended away from the wall, it's very solid with zero give. ... show more

I purchased this for a Samsung Frame Tv.... I know, I know, you think im defeating the purpose of the frame tv no gap wall mount by using this right?? NO! We installed this in our bedroom and we needed the tv to be able to project and swivel from the wall for easy viewing, but we still wanted that Frame TV art and look when not in use. By the mount being recessed in the wall it still accomplishes the look and feel we were going for. The Best Buy/ Magnolia Home theatre install guys were just as impressed and said that it mimics the frame tv mount as well. Great purchase!     • Nice mount for the money, can't get my TV flush against the wall
The mount is solid and makes for an uncluttered neat tv installation. I have a Samsung UN65KS8000 TV that I used with this mount. The mount was pretty easy to install, though a little nerve racking cutting a big hole in the wall. When I initially hung the TV I had problems with the TV not going flush with the wall. I discovered that the main hinge had slipped out of the bottom hole. I lifted up on the TV and tightened the allen bolt on the bottom of the hinge. This improved the mount but I still could not get the TV to go flush against the wall. My TV weighs around 50 pounds so it is well within the mount weight limit. I took the TV off the mount and tried the mount without the tv. The mount would go flush against the wall. I left all cables off and remounted the tv. I still could not get the mount to go flush with the wall. It springs out about 1 inch from the wall no matter what I do. I don't know if this is do to flex in the hinges or some other problem. When I extend the tv out there appears to be sag in the arm. This mount is an improvement over my old mount but I am disappointed that I could not get the TV flush against the wall. If I should buy another TV in the future there could be a problem because there is no way to adjust height. The Samsung VESA hole pattern is toward the bottom of the TV and my height measurement put the TV exactly where I wanted it. Another TV may have the VESA hole pattern higher or lower and that could present a problem if I should change to another TV. ... show more
