  • Airline Approved!
International Travel Experience! I had a fantastic experience with Impact. We are moving internationally and while I originally ordered Impact’s airline approved crate, it wasn’t going to arrive in enough time for a trial period and some time to get my boy used to the new crate. After frantically emailing Impact and a few good panics, I ordered this crate and they covered the cost of expedited shipping! I got it only a few days later. The crate comes with airline rails for the sides and the back, which are required for international travel. Great quality and extremely durable. I assembled it without any instructions, very easy to use. Even fits collapsed in my nissan rogue! For those panicking about international travel with IATA compliance: I have a large 80-85lbs dog and we got the 48”L crate which worked perfectly (my dog was 44” nose to base of tail). Practically, one size smaller would have been nice for in the house, but the IATA requirements of having extra inches pushed me to order bigger. No one measured him or held him up next to the kennel or anything when I was dropping him off, so I could’ve gotten one smaller, but I’m happier with this one and would order it again if I were making these choices again. The airline will just need to generally see that your dog can stand and turn around in it (although they didn’t ask me to put him in so they can see that, it was mentioned once and then I assume they passively observed that he could). He flew with American Airlines with the PetEmbark program under the plane as cargo through ExpediteFS (the people who do the larger cargo). I recommend going 5 hours early instead of the recommended 4 hours. That way you have time to assemble the crate, add your zip ties, attachable bowls, and give your pup a walk before crating without feeling extra stressed and rushed (which they will make you feel). I also recommend going 5 hours ahead because the people will say you are late if you aren’t ready and in the door at exactly the 4 hour mark. I was worried about the crate being “collapsable” with the IATA requirement of no-collapsible crates. I am not sure the airline would have cared as the airline rails render it non-collapsable but I wasn’t willing to risk it. I parked in the parking lot away from the front building and assembled the crate outside before going inside with my dog. I also bought large reusable cable ties with extra length and placed them along the side rails as extra security for it to stay in place. No need to bring the massive crate inside, I left my brother outside with it. We bought a $60 dolly thing that expanded wide enough to put it on and roll over when ready. Things I bought; -this crate (48” collapsable impact crate) -bowls to attach to the sides (aka not the front door) -funnel ziptied to the front door with tubing to lead into the water bowl on the side (I got a funnel + tubing from Ace hardware) -normal non reusable zip ties (which I used for the funnel and for each of the clamps around the whole kennel when assembling the crate, extra security -maybe not necessary, but I have anxiety) -large, long reusable cable ties/zipties (which I used along the side rails about every couple of spaces and to fit the IATA requirement of zip tying the door shut - you will need the extra length to close them from the hole at the top of the crate to the door holes. Side note: Allegedly the airlines provide releasable cable ties, but they never brought it out or offered it so I did all of it on my own accord and they questioned nothing. Not sure if they would’ve added it on their own or not. - 2-3 carabiners (I used this to clamp the two holes of the door lock in addition to my large zipties on the corners and the key-lock that the crate comes with). Side note: I locked my dog in, clipped one key to the top of the crate handle and kept the second key with me. -duck tape (to tape the food bag and water bottle to the top of the crate) Side note: I was worried that they may not like that the ventilation holes are the entire side walls instead of just the top 2/3rds like plastic crates which I believe is the recommended minimum requirement. Anyways, I brought the duck tape in case I needed to cover up those holes with duck tape. But I did not have to do that. It was fine. I figure more ventilation holes are always better than less but I was ready just in case. -normal water bottle to tape to the top -gallon size bag to put his food into and tape to top too -“live animal” and “this way up” stickers to put on the outside of the crate (this is another thing that the airline provides, but they only had one sticker for my info and feeding, and two smaller live animal/arrow up stickers. So I was happy that I had more visible stickering to really send a clear message lol) -I ordered a kennel ID card and put my pet’s info, my info, emergency contact info, and any extra notes. - expandable dolly (the crate does not come with wheels) ***So, to be abundantly clear, as it would’ve helped me if I had found a review saying this. This crate and its set up was accepted by American Airlines PetEmbark as of yesterday. 👍 best of luck to all and travel safely! ... show more

  • It may be expensive, but it’s worth it
Top-tier dog crate. Expensive; yes, worth it, also yes. I got the large 40 inch crate and I won’t lie. It’s a little difficult to do by yourself but not impossible feels lightweight but strong. My dog has not escaped once. Easy to clean up if they do make a mess and fabulous for traveling. Pretty sure this crate will pay for itself in a matter of time. ... show more

  • Sturdy and easy to assemble
This is great, my dogs love going in these crates as it makes them feel safe. There is no way they can break out of there. It comes with a key to lock it but I don't plan on using it. Easy to collapse and assemble for travel. The bottom is all metal so I recommend having something on the bottom that fits to size to make it comfortable, just keep in mind if your dog will chew it up. We would definitely buy this again if we get another dog, I doubt we would need to replace these kennels. ... show more

  • Good but noisy in the car
40" works fine for my 85lb M rough collie. No surprises after doing some research and reading reviews. Appreciate that it collapses unlike the main competitors for "vehicle-safe" crates. However, for use inside the car it sure makes a lot more noise (rattles) than expected for such a high-quality-construction piece - even being snugly secured. Can only imagine that being worse on a plane. ... show more

  • Fort Knox of kennels
I ordered this kennel because my great Pyrenees is a houdini and will not stay in a regular standard kennel. She breaks out everytime she's in it. I need something I know will keep her safe and secure while I'm gone and this kennel by Impact is the Fort Knox of kennels. Yes, it's expensive, but so is a vet bill if she gets into something bad and she ends up in surgery. This kennel is heavy, but easy to set up, just make sure you have it where you want it before you get started because it will be a bear to move around unless it's one of the smaller ones. She's a smaller Pyrenees and fits great in the 40+" which I think is the large. I have it in front of my slider so she ha easy viewing outside which she likes. All in all, this one's a keeper! ... show more

  • The best thing for traveling with your pet
I love it, it’s very easy to assemble and take it back down again perfect for on the go with your pet and I love the color it matches with my truck and my dog fits in perfectly it’s also very solid I would totally recommend investing in it if you’re always on the go with your pet but also don’t always want a big bulky cage in the back of your truck ... show more

  • High quality worth the price
This is a very nice crate that is foldable. It is very sturdy and has a smooth floor. It is not cheap. I got the 48” crate for my male German Shepherd (95 lbs). I think 42” or 44” would work, but 40” (the next smallest size) might be too small. I think my female (75 lbs) would be fine in a 40” but I’m going to get a 48” for her too. Easier to stack when folded down. Their home crates are 41.5” and 45.5”. ... show more

  • WORTH IT
Color: White Size: 48.0"L x 27.0"W x 33.0"H
WHEN FOLDED IT DOES WEIGH ABOUT 20-25 POUNDS, BUT I LOVE IT. EASY TO PUT TOGETHER ONCE YOU REALIZE THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY IT GOES UP AND ONE WAY TO CALASPES WITH EASE. MY CHOCOLATE LAB HAS A LOT OF ROOM AND SHE SLEEPS JUST FINE IN IT. I DID BUY A LARGE, SHE IS ALMOST 11 MONTHS, NOT SURE IF SHE WILL GROW A LITTLE MORE. THIS CRATE IS MADE WELL AND SHOULD LAST A LIFE TIME. EXPENSIVE, BUT WORTH THE COMFORT MY DOG IS SECURED AND WHEN THE CRATE IF FOLDED IT TAKES UP VERY LITTLE SPACE WHILE STORED. ... show more
