I live offgrid and have been using this daily for a few months now to warm up water for coffee or noodles. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it does take longer to warm up the water then it states and the flimsy plastic clip easily broke off. Otherwise it takes exactly 300watts as expected and still working well after daily use. ... show more

I bought it for a car camping drink heater. The cord is 3 feet long. It weighs 3.7 ounces. It takes up very little space. It has a substantial travel bag with a cord that comes with it. I tested it using one cup (8 fluid ounces) of water in a standard mug. I used my tester and it pulled 321 Watts (@120 v.) Starting temperature was 74 degrees Fahrenheit (23.3 C.). I was not able to submerge the metal part of the heater all the way in the water (as the directions say) because my mug was too small for that. It sizzled a little on the surface of the water next to the heater. The sizzle is probably a good thing to remind me that I have water heating. Heat up times at one minute it was at 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40.5 C.), at two minutes 128 degrees Fahrenheit (53.3 C.), at three minutes 152 degrees Fahrenheit (67 C.) so hot enough to burn your tongue on, at four minutes 175 Fahrenheit (79C.), at five minutes 184 degrees Fahrenheit (84 C.) and at six minutes 191 degrees Fahrenheit (88 C.) and at a royal boil so I stopped. After stopping the "handle" was slightly warm but not hot as another review had said. It was easy to use but, of course, don't touch the metal element after you plug it in until it has cooled off for several minutes because it is extremely hot. There was slight discoloration of the element. I saw another review that speculated this heater would be tough to clean if you used it for something other than water (because of the shape) and I presume that it right that this is just a travel "kettle" and not a pot. There is a lot you can do in making hot drinks and food with hot water so I still think it is an ideal light-weight compact drink heater for office, cars, boats at dock, or hotels that don't have kettles. ... show more

I bought it for my trip to Europe becouse it say can suppprt 300W 120/240V . I was in Kotor Montenegro which has 220W and the heater after placing in the water as shown on the instructions but it explored and burn, so sad

I got it now!! I must admit… I was skeptical at first … water… electrical prone… but it works. Heated up my liquids in minutes. But please, follow the directions and instructions. Now I can reduce my microwave usage!!!
