I love the look of this hood and it really compliments my new kitchen; however, it arrived with scratches and dents on the chimney. Also, it is only made for a 9 ft ceiling and I have a 10' ft ceiling, (no chimney extention is available) so we had to trim out the top, which looks nice, and I did already know that before I ordered so I'm not rating it 3 stars for that reason. Now for the downside. It gets 3 stars because it comes on whenever it feels like it, almost every day, sometimes multiple times per day. No one will even be in the kitchen or even at home and it will come on, usually on high speed and sometimes the lights will be on too. It's very annoying. We came home from a 10-day vacation and it was running full speed, so who knows how long it was on. We contacted the company and they suggested putting a piece of electrical tape over the sensor, which is not at all 'pretty' even though it's a small piece of tape. It did not resolve the problem because something or someone tripping the sensor is not what's causing it to turn on by itself. It is extremely LOUD too but does have good suction and the lights are pretty bright. Hopefully, the company will find a solution. For the money it is a good product. I took one star off for minor damage in shipping and it being a bit on the loud side at higher speeds. My last hood had a fan made of plastic that melted. This one is steel.

I do not write reviews usually. I made an exception only for the exceptional customer support I received. Our rangehood had a missing cover. I wrote email to customer support and received a new range hood from them in 3 days. So far range hood is working good. Will give product review after some time. After using this product for a month, I can say that it is works very well. I cannot smell food inside the house not even upstairs. It is powerful. ... show more

Our 1st order of the IKTCH 36-inch Wall Mount Range Hood arrived with a fully shattered glass. It was returned. Sent a message to IKTCH via their website. They were responsive and offered support. The 2nd order arrived in one piece. Since we were replacing a similar but an older hood range, installation was easy as power and duct were already in place. Everything seems to be working fine and more powerful. The hand gesture is fun and helpful, but the lamps are not very bright. ... show more

It was relatively easy to install. Use a blow dryer to remove the protective film. You can't beat the price and only time will tell. I bought the insurance just in case. I t would be nice it the unit came with a cover to cover the top. It is NOT loud as some other viewer mentioned.
