I bought this without even seeing a laser engraver before, and I was making things a couple of hours after I hooked it up. You need the Lightburn software ($60) and there are plenty of tutorials online. Very easy to use once you get the hang of the software, which isn’t really difficult.

While making Christmas presents for the family, the machine suddenly turned off mid project! I checked my breakers, cords, everything leading up the the machine and all still had power, except the power supply seems to be dead. I've emailed the manufacturer about the issue and since I'm on a time crunch, I've ordered a replacement power supply myself to see if that fixes the issue and saves Christmas. I did notice the provided power supply is only rated at 180w but this is advertised as a 200w system?? So Is it overloading the power supply? If so why did the manufacturer provide the wrong power supply? ... show more

    • It's a sleek machine but...

Sleek for sure. That being said, I've already encountered 2 issues and it's giving me anxiety about keeping the machine or sending it back. 1. After I assembled the machine, I went over everything the best I could because the instructions were not very detailed. I powered it on and ran a set-up sequence. It tried but the cross x axis was scraping along the side rails (the added extended rails) and it left a good scrape along the surface. I tried contacting IKIER but they're not available. So now I started looking inside the machine and came to find it wasn't assembled fully and a major guide rail wasn't properly anchored in to its placement. That's not very good quality to me. But I figured I need to try to fix it if I want to get anywhere at all with it. With my wife's help I was able to get the guide rail place back in and tightened down and on the next try, it ran smoothly. At least that was fixed. However... 2. According to the test run the limits are screwed up. It keeps giving me an error message that it's gone beyond its parameters. It will literally run straight against the right side and shut down like an error. So even though I fixed the mechanical issue, I still can't use it because it's parameters are messed up and there's no troubleshooting for it. Now I'll have to email IKIER again and wait until next week to be able to try running the test. At this point in not happy. I may have gotten a good deal on this machine after the coupon but I'm still into the machine and add-on accessories for well over two grand. The machine is getting 3 stars because can see its potential and good design but it's losing 2 stars for coming improperly assembled and for difficulty to use. I was extremely happy with the laser printer for the first 2 1/2 weeks, but then a problem arose with one of the stepper motors and I had to return it. I purchased a new one and I’m waiting to receive it. Please note I enjoyed this so much I’m buying it again.

The product works as its intended. The air assist hose flops about so they dont show you how to attach it to the frame. They need to make an x axis extension kit. Oh don't forget if you use the red + cross hairs you will loose 53mm of x travel. Dont forget to check tension on all the screws.

Ikier K1 pro max seemed great at first. (In hindsight I wish someone would have told me to check all the screws for tightness). Spent a bunch of time, but I got everything tight, and it worked fine (for a night). Next morning...powered it up and while reseting to home pos. I lost the x-axis. Horrible motor sounds and no movement. Belt was still tight and the laser would move freely by hand. Pretty sure this was a stepper motor issue, but on day 2??!! Anyway thankfully Amazon is refunding and I will try a different brand. ... show more

    • Good materials but completely shoddily assembled.

FIRST NOTE: THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE CRAP. GOOGLE FOR EXTENSION PACK FOR "ATEZR L2" EXTENSION. IT IS AN IDENTICAL MACHINE AND THE VIDEO IS REALLY HELPFUL. Also not mentioned in the instructions. Set your Y axis to 750mm (this is setting $131). Write this back to the machine (I use lightburn for this). Back to the Ikier product: I returned the first one I bought because all the guide railings inside were all disconnected and there wasn't even a way to connect it as the set screws were missing to clamp the round guide rail down. The replacement just came yesterday. Exactly the same issue. Like someone just got the parts and kinda threw them in a box but didn't tighten anything up. Having read the other reviews, I guess all the extensions are all going out messed up. Thankfully the first one hadn't gone back yet but I was able to bodge a working extension between the two sets. Some of the machining was off on some of the parts too. But it works now after some tinkering. Overall nice quality rails and I like the machine so much better than the Atomstack version (even tho it is smaller) but damn.. for 200 bux for 2 rails and a motor they could have at least done some QA and put the thing together correctly. Plus it is going to cost Ikier a fortune in returns selling this kind of shoddy crap. THIS IS NOT A PROJECT FOR ANYONE THAT ISN'T AT LEAST MODERATELY HANDY WITH TOOLS AND PRECISION. ... show more

Laser is engraving in mirror and I’ve been trying for two days now to get Ikier support team (which is only by email and it takes 12 hours for a response) to help me with this problem and no such luck as of now.
