There’s no set screws on the item and the contact for the wiring is very small and they are to small to crimp the wires also they are not different size on the pins the only way it is set up for positive and negative is by the clip that locks it into the socket it’s sturdy looking but I don’t know how long it will last due to the pins size ... show more

    • Nice weather resistant solar inlet
I picked these up as I was looking for a weather resistant inlet for my solar setup. I'm running two 100W Renogy panels in parallel so pushing about 7 amps each, give or take. Well under the 20A listing of the connector. This connector type is the same one that Furion uses for their 10Amp inlets that the manufacturer's use and then derate to 7.5 amps. I drilled a 7/8" hole through the front cross member. I had initially misplaced the screws and used some others. However, that doesn't work. You'll need the included (or other) flat head machine screw or the male port will not latch. The connectors do require soldering both sides. 14AWG works well. 12 AWG may be possible. Heat the cups and flow solder into them. Tin the wire you are using. Or rather tin first. Then do the cups. Then put the wires into the solder cups. ... show more

this item was to small to be a plug for a trowling moter it should be used with small guage wire it is very misleading it was a waste of money
