I picked this up as a temp replacement for a failed fridge auto ice maker. I've been keeping my ice storage been full transferring ice from this as it's made because the built in is tray is not refrigerated and melts if it's left in. It works very well and quite fast with fresh torpedo ice production every 6min or so. I had my freezer ice ben filled in an hour with to water fills and run the unit once a day to keep me topped off The only minor cons I have is that the fan is a bit noisy and blows warm air out into my kitchen, but to be fair that is to be expected. And also no built in chiller to keep the ice from melting in it's storage tray. But as it melts it drips back into the water storage tank that directly below the slotted ice basket so there's really no issues. Overall this seems a solid ice machine unit and works as advertised. The add is misleading. I purchased the because advertised as small/large cube. When I unboxed the product plugged in, there is only one button on the face of the product, which is the power button. Search the ad again to see if there is any instructions on how to toggle it between small and large cubes as if maybe it was a hidden toggle within the power button thinking maybe turning on and off so many times with Cycle through the two modes. Even in the owners manual it seats, selecting small and large cubes, but does the State how to do it. After doing research in Google., I've come to the realization that this only operates with large cubes and not small under this series and model number. The cubes aren't overly too excessive, but I would've liked an option for small cubes hoping there were more or less like pebbles or the size of peanut M&Ms. I'm on the fence about returning it so not sure just yet. But be aware if you're looking for a small enlarge, this is not the one. ... show more

I’m an ice chewer, so I like soft ice. These cubes are long, hollow, and thin. They break apart easily when bitten. If you aren’t an ice chewer and want these cubes to hold up in a drink, this is probably not the machine for you. The water tank and ice basket/holder are also on the smaller side but I expected that given this is the cheapest countertop ice maker I’ve bought and I’ve run through a few. If you spend 20 more bucks you can get one that holds more. These sub $100 countertop units can only keep themselves so cold, so your ice will melt. This isn’t a freezer. The water does drip down into the reservoir so it will cycle. If you aren’t constantly going to grab ice, expect the ice at the bottom of the basket to be mostly melted. ... show more

My refrigerator / freezer doesn't have an ice maker and I was tired of messing with ice cube trays. Is this 1986?? No! So I started looking for a counter top ice maker. Of course it had to be super cute or it wouldn't earn a spot in my kitchen. As soon as I saw this pink Igloo Ice Maker, I knew I found the winner. It matches my kitchen! When it arrived, I cleaned it well with a vinegar rinse. Then I set it up to make ice. 5 Stars!! Lovely! Alas, it lost a star when the sound of it dropping ice during the night woke me. 😲 I'm not a good sleeper lately anyhow, so if I actually get to sleep, loud noises are very disturbing. We did solve that problem by unplugging or turning off the ice maker at night! The only other complaint I have is that the ice maker does not keep the ice cold. That lost the score another star! Maybe I should have known that in advance, but I was not aware. I guess I assumed the IGLOO item would be insulated. So as the ice melts, the ice maker refreezes the water into ice. That's why ice is dropping all night. All in all, it does do the job I asked it to do. ... show more

I really hate when a known and trusted brand makes something as bad as this ice maker. It makes ice by filling the upper "freezer" section with water and freezing the water around small frozen tubes. then it drains the water, leaving the bullet shaped ice. The idea is cute but the ice is soaked with the water that was drained off of it. Then it pushes the ice into the small removable receptacle. The ice ill not stay frozen in the unit so you have to transfer it into your freezer. Since the ice is still wet, it will stick together in your freezer. Also, the ice is small and hollow so it melts in your glass very quickly. I really want this unit to work but it was a complete fail. ... show more

Good machine takes a while for the ice to be made slow and steady wins the race. we have to stick close to fill a 1 lb zip lock. Cleanup is easy. bullet ice. overall, for the price it is worth it. ATK certified and really works as expected. I think I thought it would store ice, it doesnt. we fill up a couple of 1lb zip lock bags and leave in the freezer. they will last us about a week. we are a few in the house. overall easy to work.
