We bought a new fridge and decided to get this product instead of a ice maker/dispenser in our new fridge / freezer. Very glad we made the purchase. 1. I like to chew ice and I set this at the little cube setting and the little bullets are much easier to chew. I also bought a manual ice crusher that words great. 2. My wife likes the cleaning function this has - we did not see it on others. 3. I turn it on every day when I get home from work (or when I get up on weekends) and turn it off when I go to bed. I have ice in just a few minutes and if I do not want to wait I simply grab a few out of the freezer that I have made previous days. I do not leave it running all the time, first of all to save electricity and second of all because if I wake up during the night I can hear the ice cubes drop if it makes any. 4. We use purified water we have run through our Big Berkey . 5. It makes very little noise, the motor is just a light hum and you can here the ice drop (see point #3) GREAT PURCHASE. ... show more

I am so glad that I went with this ice maker. When my fridge quit working, I was not going to pay $450.00 for someone to come out and put in a new one. My refrigerator is to old to be spending that much money. I finally had enough of going and buying ice at the store and spending $2.49 for a bag of ice every other day. So I finally got this ice maker and I am glad that I did. It makes ice very fast. I am using bottled water and I think that it has a better taste than the water out of the tap. I am very happy with my ice maker. And I highly recommend it if you are looking for a good reliable ice maker for your home. ... show more

I purchase this about 3 months ago and it was working fine not until it starts to stop making ice intermittently. The picture above is a set of sensor that tells the computer to stop making ice. This is located on top and triggered when the bucket is full of ice or a single piece of ice blocks the infrared sensors. As you can see it turned black suggesting that it becomes faulty. That means it can’t make ice anymore. It sending signal that it’s always full.... I do want a refund since this is pretty expensive equipment. Don’t get me wrong igloo is pretty good generally but the craftManship is not. Hope this works for all the buyers here that looking at this particular model. ... show more

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is literally the first review I've written for a product in many years. DO NOT buy this product, and do NOT buy from this manufacturer. The product is terrible- it works for a while, and then will suddenly stop working and make this horrible sound like gears grinding. Check out the attached video. I was a bit past the Amazon return window, so I decided to initiate a warranty claim with the manufacturer, which boasts a 1-year warranty. I went to the website, provided all the information that was requested, uploaded photos and video documentation, and pleaded with them to help me fix it, replace it, or provide a refund. Instead, they simply REFUSED to initiate a warranty claim. Why? Because I didn't have the serial number for the unit. This is because they placed the serial number on the outside of the shipping box only! That's right - it's not on the unit, not on the label on the back, not on the manual, but instead, ONLY on the shipping box apparently. But most people don't keep the box, which leaves to the only conclusion that they want to make it as difficult of possible for customers to actually make warranty claims. I told Amazon about this and they said they would initiate an investigation. Whatever you do, stay AWAY from this product and from this manufacturer. ... show more

I can't express how truly disappointed I am in this product. It is beyond bad. We've had it plugged in and working for only a few days (less than a week) and the Ice Full sensor comes on ALL THE TIME...even when there is no ice in the bin. This is a terrible, terrible product unless you're willing to obsessively hover over it after it dumps a batch of ice to make sure that it starts to make another. *UPDATE* The sensor light officially will NOT turn off no matter what you do. I'm not a typical jump up and down horn blower and I won't be here only because I've only owned this unit for a couple weeks but as of right now I'm tooting the horn about this product. Short story we don't have fridge with ice maker (it would COST to get a water line to where the fridge is) and we own a deep freezer we typically stored 50 lbs of ice in plus other stuff but used the ice in a week at $20 per week. (We live in FL so making slushies, frozen drinks, having cold drinks, using ice for sprains, etc. we use a lot of ice) Buying this unit that makes 24 lbs per 24 hours (verified) and storing the ice in a ice storage container that came with the fridge (it doesn't stay in the container that long we use that much ice) it will pay for itself in 7 weeks. PLUS we will be able to take this unit instead of hauling 10 or 20 lbs of ice to outside open air concerts the city puts on for free, when they return, because it literally makes 9 ice cubes in nine minutes. Thus anywhere i can get some electricity i can make 54 ice cubes in an hour and keep enjoying activities. We run a mixture, as it says in the docs that come with the unit, of vinegar and water for cleaning and the ice made after a cleaning doesn't have an off taste. We have a filter for water coming out of the tap so we use tap water for making ice and it's better than what we bought in the store. Not to say this won't have problems thus the extended warranty MAY be a good deal but after two weeks I'm blowing the horn that this is a GREAT deal. ... show more
