Description

Does AINOTE 2 have a built-in front light? AINOTE 2 has no built-in front light, and its 10.65-inch flexible E Ink screen relies on ambient light. It is comfortable to read in offices, meeting rooms, and natural light, but an external light is needed in complete darkness. Is there a difference in response speed between AINOTE 2 and a regular LCD tablet? AINOTE 2's 8-core processor delivers fast pen response and a smooth writing experience for notes, reading. However, due to the E Ink screen's inherent refresh limits, fast scrolling, video, and complex apps are less fluid than on LCD/OLED screens. What should I know about using Google Play apps on AINOTE 2? AINOTE 2 supports most Android apps via Google Play or APK files, but not all are optimized for E Ink. Some may run slowly, show ghosting, or display incorrectly. Videos, games, and dynamic apps may feel different from LCD tablets. What types of handwriting can AINOTE 2 convert into editable text? AINOTE 2 can convert print-style handwriting, standard cursive, headings, and paragraphs in your notes into text you can copy, search, edit, and export. Please note: clarity, slant, spacing, mixed languages, and page layout may affect recognition. Which features are included at no additional cost, and which require Wi-Fi or a paid membership? Free offline: Notes/Editing, Reading/Markup, Handwriting-to-Text, Export. Free online: Transcription, Translation, AI Features, Cloud sync/Access. Paid: Offline Transcription, Extra AI Models, Cross-Device Editing. See Member Center for details.

Perfect device for note taking at home or work!
Size: AINOTE 2 Keyboard Bundle
This Iflytek AINOTE tablet is amazing. I've always wanted an E Ink tablet, so as soon as I saw this I had to order it. I’ve been using it for a little while, and so far I’ve been very impressed by it. I wanted something that would let me take handwritten notes without constantly reaching for my phone or laptop, and the E Ink screen is really nice for that. It’s easy on the eyes and has a more paper-like feel than a regular tablet. This tablet has been great for taking bites at home and to use for work. I'm a big note taker, like every day I'm writing notes, and this tablet has made it such a better experience overall. The keyboard is also a nice addition. I like having the option to type when I’m writing longer notes and switch to handwriting when I want to jot something down quickly. Having both options in one device makes it pretty versatile. The features I like the best are handwriting recognition and transcription. It’s not perfect every single time, especially when my handwriting gets messy, but it does a surprisingly good job overall. Being able to turn handwritten notes into editable text saves a lot of time, particularly when I have a lot of notes to go through later. There are a few things I think could be better. The biggest learning curve for me was actually getting comfortable with the software and figuring out the different ways to organize and work with my notes. There are quite a few features, and it took some trial and error before I figured out what worked best for me. Once I got past that, using it felt much more natural. So at first it was a bit of a pain to figure out, but now I have it down packed and use it almost every day. The tablet came packaged well and intact, all parts such as the keyboard and pen were included. Its well built and good quality all around. Its super thin and lightweight, easy to carry around and store away. The screen is a good size and the display quality is nice, bright and clear, easy to read. The battery life has been good for my day to day use, and it doesn't take long to fully charge it up. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the AINOTE tablet. It’s a great option if you take a lot of notes at home, for school, or for work . I've definitely enjoyed using this tablet and have had a great experience with it so far. Now it is expensive, but if this is something you been wanting or needing, its a good choice and worth the price. ... show more

if you've never had a tablet type device could be great
Size: AINOTE 2 Keyboard Bundle
I want to love this as it has multiple functions that seem great however I keep going back to my iPad or paper and pen because of the ease of transferring data back and forth. The screen is my biggest issue as it is not responsive to my commands as I would like for it to be. it is jumpy, lags or does not register all touch commands. The keyboard is nice for quick note taking and ease of adding information. the battery life is decent. if you were looking for a digital device for data entry/notes and did not already have an iPad or similar device this might be nice for you however it is not a native device or operating system that I am used to and causes more frustration that benefit. ... show more

Not Ready for Market - move on
Size: AINOTE 2 Keyboard Bundle
The screen is very dark and, unless you're in a well-lit place, it's hard to see. I did not have an account prior to buying it and could not sign in. I tried to find a customer service number, but I was told I need to contact them by email. I would advise anyone never to buy this product.

A little too heavy for me
Size: AINOTE 2 Keyboard Bundle
I will not lie, this E ink tablet needs a little getting used to, as the feature to capture the written text via OCR can be a little bit tricky. Not so much on the text recognition side which is a challenge for people with terrible writing (some doctors come to mind :)) but the organization of the digitalized data. It keeps your notes more organized so you don't have to transfer them to an email or a file later on. I am still trying to see how can I copy paste to my computer but I think it should be a very easy task The function as ebook reader is great, the white surface black ink is something that I really missed with my old tablet. This version with the keyboard included feels a lot heavier than the other versions I tried and honestly I have used the keyboard only once. The keyboard is embeded in the case so you cannot remove it .You can easily attach the tablet to the keyboard as there are 5 little pogo pins that attach to the same array located in the keyboard. It is very responsive, the travel is adequate and you can type in as comfortably as a regular keyboard. I will not take out any stars as the main feature of this version is the embeded keyboard but I want to point out that the KB is at least 2x heavier than the tablet itself. Carrying it around can be a little inconvenient. ... show more

Frustrating stylus and unpolished interface for an otherwise decent notebook.
Size: AINOTE 2 Keyboard Bundle
My primary purpose for this was to be a journal to replace my paper journals. So I prioritize the feel of the writing experience and features that make storing, searching, and transferring notes easy. While this is a perfectly fine e-ink notebook, it contains many questionable features that make it feel like an unfinished product, though one that I will ultimately continue to use. The writing experience is decent, though nothing like paper. Latency is extremely low, and the lack of a backlight (which, yes, is annoying not to have) allows the pen to be so close to the surface of the tablet that it feels notably less like writing on a screen. Still, the stylus itself is lacking. After a few minutes of use, the tip is visibly worn down, and I’m not loving how it feels. I prefer a scratchy pencil-like feel, and this is closer to a somewhat jelly-like feel. There’s a bit of imprecision that I notice that I find frustrating for such a premium product. I do, however, like that it has a programmable button and an eraser. My biggest concern is the whole user interface and ecosystem, which makes it something that I can’t trust having more personal notes in. I’m disappointed to find that I need to pay for a subscription to get basic features. I should be able to transfer, store, and search my notes and even edit them on other devices, but you will face limits without a subscription. Moreover, I’m not convinced that my notes are protected or that the device and service will continue to work if the company goes under. There’s a proprietary format being used, and while I can now export notes, it’s just frustrating that it isn’t built with an open interface. I’m especially frustrated with the companion app on iOS, which hasn’t been fully translated and doesn’t allow for edits. These are all usability features that impact the experience of this product in real-world scenarios. Perhaps it will improve over time, but it still feels like a beta product in many ways. The keyboard case is nice enough and serves as both a stand and a folio while allowing me to completely detach the ultra-thin and extremely lightweight tablet if I want. The keys themselves are just ok, nothing high-end and feeling more like budget keyboards, but the convenient functionality of it all makes it compelling. I do love that I can unlock using fingerprint which works reasonably well. I don’t like that the text recognition isn’t anything I can rely on. Even with neat handwriting, it gets stuck. I’ve used some of the recording features and it’s frustrating that I can’t delete recordings from a note without deleting the entire note. I’ve accidentally hit the record and transcribe function on a note so I now have an embedded recording on a note that I had already written all over. Despite all this, it does all work. I can use it for writing and it’s good enough for keeping a few notes even without a subscription. Since I don’t rely on the AI features, I find this to be harder to justify, but it is neat to have. I just wish the stylus and interface were more polished. Hope this helps! ... show more

An amazing device.
Size: AINOTE 2 Keyboard Bundle
I've had a couple of kindles in the past that were unfortunately too tiny and way too slow. I figured the technology had improved and I'd been interested in dumb phones lately, so I was looking at e-ink phones. That's when I saw this e-ink notepad/reader and became very intrigued. I though it looked super nice with the huge screen and keyboard. After using it for about a month, I absolutely love it. First of all, I love this as a reader. I was able to get my libby account connected right away and all my books uploaded. The screen resolution is great and very easy on the eyes. I unfortunately never read for pleasure ever since law school broke my brain. I read an entire book on this thing, my first in a year. This device actually made it enjoyable and I looked forward to opening it up every evening. Secondly, the writing capability is literally awesome. While it will never feel exactly like pen(cil) and paper, the touch responsiveness between the screen and the pen is excellent and very speedy, and the text that appears on screen actually looks like my handwriting. It is amazing. My partner swiped the tablet from me for an hour and all of a sudden got carried away writing a short biography of our cat because writing on the tablet was so pleasurable. She became especially enamored with the quill tip (there are several different pen tips you can choose from). Battery life is pretty decent; I have to charge it up every other day or so. I am still getting used to all the features; after using an iPad for years, this tablet admittedly was not very intuitive for me. It might be different for others who are android users and/or have previous experience with either this brand or other notepads from boox, etc. I am used to literal notepads, so even though this has lots of bells and whistles built in for notetaking, it can be a little overwhelming. I'm still looking forward to learning it all though. Any complaints I have are minor. Palm sensitivity could be improved as sometimes I am reading and it accidentally jumps to another page. I also wish there was a backlight, but I guess the whole point of an e-ink tablet is to mimick a book and reduce bluelight. It's my understanding that the iflytek team is committed to user experience, so I have faith that they are proactively improving the software before this newbie even notices any bugs in the first place. This is not a cheap device by any means (especially if you are opting for the keyboard bundle), but I think it's a good investment whether you are a student, avid reader, or big notetaker in general. Would recommend without hesitation. ... show more

Fine for casual use, and limited to first party programs
Size: AINOTE 2 Keyboard Bundle
Most important and fair thing to bear in mind...this is an e-ink device, that has to be an important frame of conext to keep in context. The tablet is very premium feeling, set up is pretty straight forward, only hitch is you have to set up an AINOTE account, which can be a bit on the clunky side if you don't already have an account, the verification key has a rather short refresh window. Once set up, within the native programs, the tablet is snappy and very responsive for an e-ink device...but that is restricted to the factory programs. While this tablet has Google Play and can ""run"" android apps....more trouble than it's worth. I figured that I could access PDF's documents, etc....do basic editing without having to take a full fledged device with me, unfortunately outside the native programs...this device is very clunky when trying to access PDF readers or OneDrive......and one can easily find themselves trapped, backing out and trying to get back to the home screen is very uninuitive and quite a frustration. That gimmick of being able to run android apps....is a wasted effort. The native writing, translation, transcription and drawing programs are going to be where you'll want to stay, navigating the native programs is easy and snappy. This just isn't going to be a power user device. The included stylus is very comfortable to hold, very responsive and accurate with no noticeable lag in native programs, it's also magnetic and clings to the back of the tablet firmly (though exposed), it can also hold on to the edges....but very loosely. I got the bundle with the keyboard folio.....the tablet attaches to the keyboard via contact pins, getting proper alignment is a bit of a learning curve....and the folio case's awkward design doesn't help matters, deployment is a chore, the tablet cannot be stored connected to the keyboard...and the folio has some complex oragami shape to maximize protection over ergonomics. Keys themselves are pedestrian, within native apps they are resonsive with marginal lag....can't get the keyboard to work andoid apps though, and for those android programs the tablet remains in portrait configuration....further devaluing that "support" feature. when using the keyboard/folio...the tablet is locked in about a 45 degree angle, comfort is Not intended for low vision users, the folio has astrap for the stylus....which is useless for stowage as it's position prevents the folio from closing with the tablet inside....and deployed....it's a tight soft loop attached to the tablet support flap....the stylus is supposed to serve as a mouse in the deployed configuration....and disturbing the support flap will cause connection issues with the keyboard. In summation, the tablet on it's own as an e-ink device limited to it's own world, is a very useful casual tool, professional and premium feeling....things only go awry when you go beyond the native programs. This is NOT a power user device, it's furthest from a professional ecosystem tool. And the keyboard/folio emphasizes that lackluster attribute, it's more of a novelty rather than a productivity value add, and what protection it can provide is massivle offset by it's ergonomic limitations and the lack of a properly thought out stylus storage. ... show more

Works Well and Is Easy and Fun to Use
Size: AINOTE 2 Keyboard Bundle
This item arrives carefully enclosed in a very nice product box that includes the device itself, a compatible keyboard, a stylus, a USB-C cable, and an instruction booklet. My initial impression as I opened the product was that the presentation was certainly supportive of the price, as the packaging is well-designed and feels to be of the quality one would hope for given the price of this device. The primary device itself is beautiful and is extremely thin and lightweight. The stylus is comfortable to hold and easy to use with both hands. The keyboard is also very nice, with keys that are comfortable and responsive. Because I also own the earlier version of this device, which was released before the keyboard bundle was an option, I certainly appreciate the addition of a keyboard because it makes it far easier to take notes when you don’t feel like handwriting them. After opening the device, I completed the setup and began to work through the different features. Note that when it asks for your signature, that signature is then displayed on the sleep screen, so make sure you do a nice job writing your name (unlike me, who wrote mine crooked and then had to figure out how to fix it). Beyond that, there are a variety of different things that you can do with this device, not the least of which is writing about and on stuff as you read and take notes on other stuff. The screen has a very nice paper-type style that is responsive, easy to read, and gentle on the eyes if you happen to use it for longer periods of time. The stylus works beautifully, and I had no issues with any lag, skipping, or a failure to recognize the device. It writes exactly like a pencil, which is brilliant, and massively increases how likely I am to use this device for many different purposes. I have also had no issues with the keyboard, and have found it to be a great convenience that expands the usability of the device. I own several devices from iFLYTEK, and I love this brand, both for the quality of the design and for how well their nifty gadgets work in real life. This tablet with keyboard is no exception, and I am very much looking forward to continuing to use it in the future. ... show more
