Less expensive (than Klein), performs well and fast-easy to use. It's a perfect intersection of 3 key factors. 1 • It's an extremely high value product with reasonable price. 2 • A time saver. 3 • The performance is excellent and well calibrated to the target market segment - residential and commercial electricians, HVAC and maybe DIY folks. Farmers out in nowhere will find this tool useful in detecting buried cables. This tool reduce the hassle and trial-and-error work in locating inaccessible cables, behind wall or in the ground. It also makes finding the right breaker easier. It can be extremely sensitive. This is useful in locating cable deep underground. Therefore, it's important to understand sensitivity adjustment for different purposes. To identify a breaker, sensitivity setting has to be set low. Do spend some time to study each model capabilities before buying. The units required a total of 10 AA batteries. It's recommended to use high performance rechargeable batteries as they don't leak corrosive fluid if accidentally left unused for a while.     • REALLY sensitive! Pleasantly surprised!
Wow! I have to move some buried wires in my yard to make room for a new patio. I tried using my Armada Pro 700 (irrigation wire tracer) to find them, but it couldn’t “hear” the signal injected into the wire beyond a few feet of the house - likely due to the depth. I saw this unit was discounted during Prime week, plus I had an additional coupon, so, as a last ditch, I thought ”why not?” First, to be clear: it states clearly in its manual that it is not purpose-built for tracing buried cables, but the manual also gave a procedure for doing so. I tried it and was HUGELY impressed! The signal was loud and clear - and HIGHLY directional. It did not need it to be set anywhere near its highest sensitivity to pick up the signal injected into the wire! Now, I don’t need to dig exploratory trenches, or call on an electrician who has an underground scanner. I’ve already given my old Klein tracer away - this one is SOOOO much better! If you need a tracer that can “see” buried wires, this is definitely worth trying. If you need one simply to trace wire within walls, I recommend this kit for that as well! ... show more

I just got this and loaded the app to see the directions and learn to use it properly. I am impressed with the feel of the unit and I will see how well it works this week locating a few problem spots in a customer's house. I will update this in a few days, once I have tried it out.

This equipment is just great. Work’s better and easier than I expected. Two panels in my brothers home and didn’t use a convenient outlet for years that was dead. We had no clue which breaker feed this outlet and was fairly sure the gfi was dead. It took me just a few minutes to remove the gfi so I could attach the supplied alligator clip to the conductors. Walk to the panel and one had a stronger signal opened and move the receiver down the breakers until one had a super strong signal. Turned it off and and replaced the gfi. It was so easy to find the breaker ... show more

    • No Confidence in Tracing
Really wanted it to work well, i have other ideal products and with this being cheaper than competitor options i was excited for it. I have had others try to use it to trace outlet but it gave, false readings on what breaker it was. I chalked it up to neutral issues but today i used it on a 240v circuit, so no possibility of that being an issue and i was ringing on several rooms and panels that didnt even have the power going in that room and when i did find it by trial and error it wouldn’t ring consistently and gave me no confidence in it being correct without having already found it. The noise for it is, not super enjoyable. Unfortunately ill be spending more and going with a competitor that i have tried and know it works with accuracy ... show more

Very useful product at a reasonable price, and well constructed. I certainly recommend this if you need to resolve mis-wired circuits! I ended up using for many more tasks than anticipated, and I'm glad I have it in my toolbox.
