I love this ice maker since my other one died in less than a year. I also like that it stops going when it doesn't have water and will go dormant until refilled or cleaned. The timer feature is great too so it's not making ice in the middle of the night but will start at the time I need it to. I like the size choices as well. The only downfall is it doesn't keep the ice cold once it is made it'll just melt and remake the ice so when I have extra ice, I just put it into a bag in the freezer for future use. I was pleasantly surprised. The ice cubes are small, but it can certainly crank them out at a very good rate. We've replaced the ice maker in the fridge twice and we wanted an alternative in lieu of another expensive repair. I liked how fast it made the ice. The downfall was the ice machine is pretty loud and the ice isn't that small, even on the smallest setting. Overall it's a great product.

Arrived early. Love the design. Just can not tell when it is on. Have to wait to see if ice cubes as made before knowing. Not very good if not on and wanting ice. Timer is confusing..would not buy again.

    • Works, By Trial & Error
First, it makes ice and it does it fast. But only if you can figure out how to program it. I got this model planning to have it shut off late in the evening, then turn on again in time to make ice for morning. But the instructions that came with my machine are for one that has a totally different control panel--the one on the top--so are no help for setting up my machine. I was finally able to get it to work by pressing random buttons. All seemed fine for several weeks. Then, all of a sudden, it turned itself off, lost whatever programming made it work, and stopped making ice. I looked at the instructions again, looked online for instructions for my machine, and no luck. I found pictures of my machine--the one with the round control panel on the front--but there were no actual instructions. All I found were "you can do this great thing..." OK, wonderful, but HOW?! *crickets* So, as I stated, if you can figure out how to make it work, it's great. But getting it to work is beyond difficult. Honestly, even though it works great when it works, I'm ready to scrap it and get another brand. ... show more

Make sure to follow the instructions. Leave upright for at least 24 hours before using. Make sure to clean everything prior to first time use. It took me about two hours to make a medium size container of ice that I put in the freezer. I suppose if you had a large gathering or a large family, you would need to run this for a while to get a large amount of ice especially if you’re having a party however, I am one person and this works perfect for me I just make ice once it falls I put it in the freezer and I go about multitasking and come back put ice in the freezer, etc., I got a good price on this and I am happy.
