The seat cushion is firm, but I imagine it will gain softness with age and use. At $24 this was a great buy. It looks fabulous with the vanity. The seats are very nice I love the colors, and they are really comfy. Also very easy to set up. I ordered one of the seats and ended up having to cancel one because it wasn’t coming, but the second order for the seat came the next day.
