  • This is a great rack and pack.
Style: Disc Brake Rack+Trunk Bag
This was for my mountain bike and allowed me to carry all my climbing gear to the gym. But it worked so well I now use it for my locks, repair kit, and anything else I need when biking. Just stuff it in somewhere, there are lots of pockets. I thought the weight might be a problem but I don't really notice it. I thought the rattling might be a problem on dirt, but it is no louder than the rest of the bike rattling. It's super rugged and well padded (which is why it's quiet). Once you get the rack installed, the pack is super easy to get on and off. Yet still it is very secure. Highly recommend this solution. ... show more

  • Great for multi day mountain biking trips
Style: Combo-regular
I just got back from a multi day mountain biking trip. I went over a great deal of bumpy terrain and this bag and rack did not budge. As for space, in the main compartment it easily held three days worth of bike clothes (jerseys, shorts, socks), a couple of t shirts, two pairs of shorts, flip flops, hygiene items, and three snack packs in sandwich sized ziplock bags. The side, rear and top pockets are also very spacious. Oftentimes with bike bags the outside pockets are almost useless, but not with this bag. The two side pockets easily held my tools (shock air pump, spare 26x2" tube, multi use tool, knife, chain tool, chain links, bottle of chain lube w/ rag, tire levers, bike lock, etc.). The bungee on the top of the bag is also useful as it held my sleeping bag liner and a light rain jacket for easy access. I wanted to keep as much weight off my back as possible. All I had to have in my backpack were my two hydration bladders. As others have mentioned, the ride dynamics do change a bit with this bag as likely with any other rear bike bags. I didn't do any practice rides with this bag fully loaded, but I didn't have an issue. You just need to be more cautious when going downhill with more weight centered over your rear wheel. But with no practice prior to the trip, I was fine and it wasn't an issue. I wouldn't suggest doing real technical riding with this bag, but I rode some nice single track without an issue. I had the rack mounted at the base of my seat post and you do have to lift your leg a little higher to get seated, but it wasn't an issue for me. Overall the bag and frame are made of high quality materials and the main compartment and pockets are perfectly designed. The zippers are high quality as well. The rack itself is lightweight so there is obvious weight savings there compared to a typical pannier rack that screws into the frame. Another reviewer mentioned there should be a strap integrated on top of the bag. I found that if the bag had a strap on top, you'd lose storage on top with the net. There is a strap included that when tightened all the way acts as a hand strap or your can loosen it and carry it over your shoulder. Either way the strap comes on and off and you at least have some choices how you want to use it. The bag easily clicks in and out of the rack which was useful for short stops during the trip. One of my friends on the trip (who is not easily impressed) had most of his gear in his backpack and he looked over at me after I unclipped the bag and he said "it unclips too? Nice". Overall I wouldn't change anything about this bag. It's perfect. This is one of the best products I've purchased off Amazon. For the price the value is hard to beat. Most manufacturers/retailers charge the same price just for the bag without a rack. ... show more

  • Very useful and secure
Style: Combo-compact
Excellent product! Very secure, super easy to install. Love that the bag clips off and you can take it to go with the shoulder strap. Highly recommend.

  • A very nice bag/rack setup for day trips, but it may not fit your bike
Style: Combo-regular
I opted for this setup over a Topeak clip on bag because the bag mounting/clip system looked a little easier to operate and the price was somewhat lower. In those regards this is a great bag. I can unclip the bag in roughly two seconds and take it with me into the office, into the gym, or anywhere I need to go. The bag itself is a great value and well built. The base looks like carbon fiber (cool) but is some sort of hard plastic. The 5 pockets are well thought out and carry everything I need in quick reach. I have been using the side pockets for tools, the small top pocket for easy access to a U-lock, the back pocket for a few quick snacks, a small notebook and a pen (yes I record my milage the old fashioned way), and the main pocket for bigger things like a jacket, a lunch tupperware, or any other "largeish" items. The best way I can describe the size of the main pocket is similar to a large loaf of sliced bread. You could probably get a bit more in there if you wanted to, but thats what would fit comfortably. The rack is solid once you get it installed. Unlike some of the Topeak bar racks, Ibera has opted for an allen wrench mount over a quick release. Part of me likes this because it will keep most people from walking off with the rack, but it does mean you need a tool to adjust it (which is conveniently in my bag so thats usually OK). The one thing that makes the rack not quite ideal (and brings the review home at 4 stars) is how it fits on the bike rack. I knew that it had a fixed angle mount (so depending on the angle of your seat post it may not sit level, but I hadn't thought about just how this might effect the fit of the bag on the bike. I ride a 60cm Diamondback Podium 3. Its a relatively big bike (I'm 6'3") and the bag fits...but barely. Because of the angle of my seat post, the height of the seat, and the position of the back wheel, the bag sits right up against the seat. It had been touching before I realized that you could move the bag farther back on the rack. This can make it difficult to get to the zippers and makes attaching and detaching the bag more difficult than it should be. Topeak makes non adjustable bar racks with a raise (Topeak QR Beam Rack MTX Bicycle Rack) and a drop (ACTION CARRIER TOPEAK BEAM MTX V(LARGE) QR) platform which could help you avoid this (but their racks cost as much as this setup), but Ibera also makes an adjustable rack that will be compatible with just about any bike should you get a new one (this rack was not available on amazon at the time of this review. The rack is product number IB-RA13 on Ibera's website). Overall I like this rack setup a lot. Its probably not big enough for bike camping or hardcore bike touring, but it can be your primary bag for a long ride and you could probably even squeeze in a few of your friends cliff bars when he's out of room. It's well built and feels very secure on the bike. The only drawback is the included rack and its fit on large (and likely small bikes). I do wish we had the option to purchase this set (to save a few dollars) with either the adjustable rack or a fixed high or low rack. But beggars can't be choosers and for the price this setup is very nice. 4 stars ... show more
