I ordered this antenna for a replacement. I read the couple of 1 star reviews and was a little nervous about the review regarding the resonance frequency. I decided to order this antenna. First, yes it's not 2 meters in length, it as actually a 1/4 wave length antenna for 144 Mhz and 1/2 wave for 440 Mhz; this is what you would expect Also, I did my own VNA SWR testing after installation and found it was quite acceptable without tuning. In the previous posted 1 star review, it had an image which was not very detailed (actually too much detail IMO) showing a smith chart and I believe I've seen the same image on other antenna reviews. I've attached images showing my results. The antenna is best set up in the middle of the car's roof. If you place it on the sides, the SWR will increase. If you need a stronger hold, you can remove the rubber base, however I did not find that I needed to do so as I had no issues with holding. The rubber base did not affect the SWR as it can sometimes do with HF mag-mount antennas. Coax is RG-58 solid core. it's standard for most of these types of antennas and there should not be much loss due to the coax length. The connector seems to be build well and did not see any issues with the connector or the base attachment. So, I give this a thumbs up! ... show more

I've got really great reception on this little antenna. I have also received great signal reports on both 2m/70cm Ham and GMRS. Super easy to install the whip with two Allen set screws. I have it installed on a 02 Impreza TS wagon and It does not hit in the parking garages I frequently park in. Build quality seems great. Magnet is strong and has held on at 75mph. Whip seems flexible havn't hit anything to test that. Lol. Doesn't look bad either. ... show more

After trying three different antenna for the 2m/70cm dual band antenna. I am very pleased with this one. The SWR on both bands are well below 2:1 with the lowest on 2m at 1.05:1 @ 144.0000mhz, and 1.5:1 on 70cm @ 440.0000mhz You will also find it very usable on the MURS and GMRS frequencies. vhf swr is 1.5 (acceptable) uhf swr is 3 (unsatisfactory) it does look clean, and would be ideal if it was actually tuned
