    • Great sound, mic, and build quality.
I got these after returning a different brand that had poor sound quality. Right out of the box these look like they are built good. Like most headphones they are adjustable for size. Since I have a fairly large melon, I adjusted them to the maximum size. They are just the tiniest but tight on my noggin, but not uncomfortable. I bought these for my PS4 but since I had just opened them and wanted to try them right away I plugged them into my phone. I fired up Spotify and skipped through the first couple of suggested songs until I landed on Willie Nelson's On The Road Again. I am not a country fan by any means but I stopped on it because of how it started out with just a simple guitar and drums. As I listened, I felt like I was transported into that studio as the song was being recorded. So crisp and clear. Now for the sound quality on the PS4. I have to admit that I do not plug these directly into the controller, but into and adaptor that comes with the Sony Silver headphones. I have had at least 3 sets of the silver headphones as they keep breaking. That is why I went with the HyperX this time. Volume on these are more than sufficient. Chat mixed in with game audio is very clear. The HyperX comes with a noise canceling mic which is great. My wife and I play together but in separate rooms. I sit in a leather recliner and after a left cheek sneak I asked her if she heard that. She did not know what I was asking about, so it passed the background noise test! I've only had these a week but am extremely happy with them. If anything changes I will update my review. ... show more

    • Fantastic headset and a great value.
I almost considered downgrading this to a 4 star but couldn't do it. It's not the fault of Hyper X that there is only so much power that you can pull from a 3.5mm headset input on a dualshock controller. For this price you will have a hard time finding a headset that delivers the clean sound that this does. While the microphone isn't the best I've heard it is very good. The aluminum headband construction makes this nearly indestructible and the padding on top is more than sufficient. The ear cups are comfortable but can get a bit warm but not nearly as heat trapping as some others I've tried. Hyper X always seems to deliver and this is no exception. I have a wireless headset for when I need more power behind the sound but for every day gaming this is another in a long line of quality products from Hyper X. Almost every gamer needs a wired headset even if it is a backup to a more powerful wireless set and this is the best you are going to get for the money. ... show more

    • Amazing quality, mic kinda screwy
Update: I purchased this on 06.08.19, roughly a year ago and these things were phenomenal to use. The sound is great, especially the base and the surround sound. The noise-cancelling feature of this headset is amazing (has actually got me in trouble with my parents because I’d yell too loud). Comfortability is there. I wear glasses so usually headsets would squeeze against my ears but this one held up great. The mic is clear as well. I’m giving it 4 stars because recently the mic has deteriorated(?). My friends would tell me I would sound very distant even though the the mic would be right up against my lips. There’s also a bit of an echo coming from my friends whenever I save a clip of games with their voices in it. Perhaps this has happened to others too, but I haven’t found an answer on how to fix it. All in all, great headset. Definitely worth the buy if you have the extra money! ... show more

    • Great sound and value! Easy to use and setup!
I was a bit surprised at some of the negative reviews. These sound great out of the PS5 controller. They are solid build, lite weight, and look great. Volume is not an issue. The inline volume is really more a balance between the chat volume and game music/sound effects. Complaints about them not going up to a loud enough volume, I don't get. Make sure you go into settings, adjust that volume, touch the 3D audio settings to make sure you like the output, but so far, these are a great set of headphones! Noise cancelation is a 3 star, because these don't actually have a setting for this. ... show more

    • Loud Echo
I wanted a good headset because I wanted good mic quality and yes it has good mic quality BUT there’s an echo. I like filming videos on my PS4 like funny clips but the clips are messed up because of the echo. A way you can fix the echo is lowering your mic level (which your friends or people online won’t be able to hear you that well) OR lowering down the volume but it takes away that experience of enjoying the sound effects. Also, when I first tried on the headset, the audio made my ears feels weird. The best way to explain it is it felt like I was on an airplane or somewhere where there is high air pressure. I feel like this was because I was used to my other headset because after a while of dealing with that feeling, I got used to the headset and don't even notice it anymore. Also my friends said that my voice sounded like is has no bass. But yeah, that’s my experience and don’t recommend this headset for the mic but other than that, it’s alright. ... show more

    • Great Sound Quality. Great Mic Quality, can work with PC with minor settings adjustments
Ive owned this headset for awhile now and I am thoroughly impressed with the quality. the sound quality is amazing as well as mic quality, can hear footsteps on FPS before they hear me and its super accurate. I used them for about 6 months on my PS4 before I made the switch to PC Gaming. though they're advertised for PS4 they can work for PC if you adjust some settings and if the case has a universal jack for mic and headphones. only issue Ive had is having to play with the settings on PC to get the same output as I did on ps4. Would definitely recommend this headset for the casual/professional gamer alike. ... show more

    • Good build quality, good sound
The build quality might be the best characteristic of these headphones. Very well made. The sound is good. Not revolutionary by any means, but more than good enough for casual gaming. The noise canceling is good enough for casual gaming. It helps block out the fan noise from my PS4. But they weren’t designed to block out more significant background noise. I have run into an issue with my mic when charging my PS4 controller. When the headset is plugged into the controller while the controller is being charged, it has resulted in a very loud and uncomfortable electronic noise that is then transmitted through the microphone for other players to hear. I don’t know if this is more of a headset issue or a PS4 issue. The fix may be as simple as replacing my controller charging cable. But that’s one issue I’ve run into that others may also experience. ... show more
