These are the squishiest yoga blocks I’ve ever used. It has taken me a while to get used to them! I find they’re really nice for things like: sitting on in meditation, propping up my ankles for various stretches, propping up my back for restorative back bends, etc. The squishiness adds some nice cushioning for those things. While the squishiness is nice on my wrists, after using these blocks for almost a month, I’m still not sure I love them for positions where I’m propping up to get more height. Like half moon pose, for example. Or some twisting lunge positions where I want extra height for my one arm. The sides of the blocks cave in and make them more wobbly and less stable than I’d prefer. I’m better at managing them now than when I first got them, but I think I still prefer the harder blocks for propping up in balance positions, because they don’t wobble like these do. The blocks also indent easily, and they don’t necessarily bounce back, so they get lasting dents in them. I have to be careful to not just throw them in the back of my car where they could lean on something and get an indent. They have to go in my canvas bag, tucked tightly by my yoga wheel, to keep them safe and flat. They also are the only blocks I’ve worked with that gather up all the pet hairs and human hairs in the area. I’m always trying to inconspicuously pick the hairs off of them before I use them in class! All that said, I do love the soft, squishy, suede like texture of them! I just have a love hate relationship with them because of the added balance issues and all the hairs. I also think they’re way too expensive for the around $30 price tag at the time of this review.

My wife had previously purchased equivalent blocks from a random vendor for about $20 so at $30 (current price at time of this review) these are 50% more expensive than a generic equivalent. But I guess if you care about having the Hydrow branded product then go for it. Quality is seemingly similar to any other yoga blocks you could get elsewhere

These yoga blocks are really nice. They are very lightweight, yet sturdy. The material they are made from feels very soft and almost suede-like and I feel secure that I will not slip off them if my hands get sweaty. Like all yoga blocks you can use them at a variety of heights depending on how you place them. What's nice about these is that the edges are beveled, which is a small but thoughtful detail that makes gripping them more comfortable. The surface area of the blocks is a good size and I can splay my whole had out on the top of them, which allows a solid, mindful contact. All in all, these are some of the nicest blocks I've ever used and I am very happy to have them.

I am by no means a experienced yoga person so take this review with a grain of salt. I got these to help out with a few different positions and also for pilates. They work perfectly for that. They are light weight but still sturdy enough for me to lean my weight onto them as I need too. With that being said, considering what the current price is, I think there are probably some cheaper blocks out there that will do the same thing. There isn't anything discerning about these blocks to me that would make me think they are worth their current price. Again, I don't have a ton of experience on what makes a great yoga block, but with the basics of being sturdy and effective, these blocks work.
