Since I spend many hours sitting, I use it to stretch and do relaxation exercises, and it really helps with tension in my legs and back. It comes with a strap, which makes it easy to store and carry, and the size is great even if you’re tall. Just be aware that it can get slightly slippery on smooth floors, especially if you sweat. If you are someone who is tall, this is a good yoga mat because it is longer than many you’ll find out there. I appreciate the thickness of the material as well, even though it doesn’t look like a triple decker thick yoga mat, it is! I have owned this and used daily for my morning yoga and weight work for about two months now. I’m about 175 pounds and haven’t encountered any discomfort where I felt like my knees or elbows are pressing in the ground. Especially in the knees, that cushion is so uncomfortable if it isn’t thick enough. Don’t worry, with this one, it won’t be an issue. It is grippy to the floor and the ridges nicely catch your feet when in difficult poses. I am also glad it didn't come with that gross rubbery/plastic smell. This is a replacement for the Gaiam mat my puppies chewed up. It showed up quickly as promised. It is 10mm thick, which is great for me as I have a knee that needs replacement, and has allowed me to continue my yoga for almost a year since the knee diagnosis. You may want something a little thinner for balance, I just step off the mat for balance exercises. It is easy to clean, and I love that they still offered my color! The only main negative thing I’ve seen on my mat is the imprints in my photo from where the strap was holding in for a very long time which is on both sides, but this doesn’t particularly bother me, and it’s just on the very ends of the mat. The mat itself is a good length for me, and while it is pretty firm, it is much more comfortable than my floor. I tend to get sweaty hands, and even through a few uses I don’t find myself slipping at all, and the mat stays in place. I know some people were complaining about a smell, but mine hardly smells at all. It does have a rubber smell to it which makes sense, but I only notice it if my face is on or just above the mat, and it’s not super unpleasant and doesn’t bother me. I wouldn’t say the strap itself is necessarily comfortable if you’re gonna sling it over your shoulder because it’s standard Velcro, but it is definitely lightweight and easy to carry, and it doesn’t take up much space when rolled up. This is my first yoga mat as I’ve just started, so I do have nothing to compare it to, but I am very happy with my purchase. When this one wears out I am likely to buy from this brand again. ... show more
