  • Quite and Powerful
Style: 800 GPH
Active Aqua Submersible Water Pump, 800 GPH, for my cold plunge tub, and it works perfectly. It efficiently circulates the water, maintaining a consistent temperature, and operates almost silently, which is a huge plus. Installation was easy, and the pump feels solid and reliable. The compact design fits well in my setup without taking up much space. Overall, I highly recommend this pump for anyone with a cold plunge tub. It’s quiet, powerful, and does the job excellently. ... show more

  • Great pump
Style: 400 GPH
I bought this pump for a DIY cold plunge. It's really quite and does the job. It runs 24/7 and after a few weeks no issues.

  • Good pump - but missing one important thing
Style: 400 GPH
Overall, there are very few pumps that have a pre-filter and have a 3 prong plug. So the pump seems to be working well - but it is missing one important thing - a 5/8” (or .63) output adapter. They do include a 1/2" and 3/4" and even includes ones that have an aeration connection - but for some weird reason, they don't include a 5/8" size like many of the pumps in the 400GPH range. The 1/2" really restricts the water output in my fountain. They really need to add the 5/8". Checked with Customer Service and they confirmed they don't have or offer a 5/8" adapter for this pump. ... show more

  • Horrible pump for inline use.
Style: 550 GPH
The media could not be loaded. We had high hopes due to being the same brand as our chiller unit for our cold plunge. This pump does not meet the standards. Using it as an inline pump, there is no stop for the adaptor. See video. So that means while setting up the hoses and running it, the adapter spun/turned off and started losing water everywhere. Also, the housing is not made well. The cheap plastic broke when tightening the top fitting down. See picture. It’s like they didn’t make any room to have the o-ring seat properly when tightened. Will be buying a different brand pump and never going with this brand ever again. ... show more

  • Cheap, long lasting, and works
Style: 250 GPH
Purchased in 2018, this has been in my outdoor pond for 5 years. Only this year, five years later, has it began to slow down and make a rattling noise. It's not moving as much water as it used to. I use this for a reverse flow (up flow) biofilter with appx 24" head pumping through 15 layers of green scrub pads in a ceramic flower pot (an EXCELLENT way to hide a DIY filter, BTW) Highly recommended for a CHEAP low head / low pressure / high flow pump ... show more

  • Powerful for small ponds
Style: 1110 GPH
I purchased this unit (Hydrofarm AAPW1000 92-Watt 1000 GPH Indoor/Outdoor pump) on April 25, 2022 and wrote this review on June 15, 2022. I am using the Hydrofarm for my small ornamental pond which holds about 340 gallons. This pump is powerful for my needs! I replaced my old anemic VIVOSUN 800GPH Submersible Pump(3000L/H, 24W) which failed after one year in the hopes of a more audible water sound, better water circulation and oxygen generation and less overall clogging. TLDR; huge improvement, night-and-day difference. The pump itself below the water level makes zero noise. I removed the silly foam "filter" as this would have clogged instantly in my natural water conditions (string algae, lily roots, snails, goldfish, etc). I do not have a bog filter at this time. I have a small rock fountain set about 3 feet high from the water surface. This pump sits about 1 1/2 feet below the water surface on the bottom resting on the pond liner amongst the muck and lily roots. The total height rise is about 5 feet using 3/8 inch diameter clear tubing. I used the provided nipple that came with the pump. The tubing runs about 6-7 feet in length along the back of the rocks in a few gentle S-bends climbing to the falls/fountain top. I have the flow-shutter completely closed and it provides my falls with an energetic flow rate and a small river sound (almost too loud at night falling 2 1/2 feet). Every few weeks I will simply open the flow valve a little (1/2 turn) to clear out the muck in the intake while I skim or cleanup dead lily pads and the flow rate roars back to life over the falls/fountain edge almost instantly, then I close it again for the minimum flow. Very pleased so far. My next update to this review will be done in about a year. ... show more

  • for in-line use no hose barb included for 3/4" tube
Style: 800 GPH
Update adding star; manufacturer reached out and said inner thread is 5/8ths. Still odd size for plumbing and could not find it at local hardware store. Found a 5/8" to 3/4" reducer so that should work fine. Pump works great so far, seems well built. 1 star off for odd inner thread diameter, 1 star off for lack of power switch on cord. There is a hose barb for 1" and 1/2", but no 3/4" tube? Must be a mistake. The female thread is 7/8" inch, why? Just make it 3/4" or 1/2" like everything else. 7/8 inch thread is so hard to find! Local hardware store couldn't even find a proper fitting for this. Owner found a '22mm' reducer that almost fits (pumps water inline now but small leak). Nobody seems to now what size the inline female thread is! aggravating. ... show more
