I'm an artist and bought this for painting at an easel. I admit it does take a little time to become accustomed to sitting on it, especially if you frequently get up to stand, then sit down again. But the back relief and comfort is well worth it! It is a very comfortable stool, and unlike some others, it is possible to adjust the back rest so that you can lean back on it. The seat shape is good and the padding adequate. The casters roll nicely and don't seem to hang up on the rug or wood floor. I roll this stool all over the place and have not had any tipping issues (mentioned in other reviews) though I am careful to lower the seat height first. The assembly was very simple and once assembled it feels solid and sturdy. Overall, this chair is an excellent value for the price and I would definitely buy another. ... show more

I'm a nail tech and sit hunched over a table for hours on end. I was suffering from severe mid and lower back pain. I've tried many things to help with posture and positioning, but this chair has been the only thing that has helped. It took a little getting used to and my inner thighs were sore the first few days, but I noticed right away that my back was hurting less! I'm only 5' 3" tall and I'm able to sit with my feet flat on the ground with this chair and it really helps relieve pressure on the lower back. I've been using the chair a little over a month now and while I'm not 100% pain-free, I have more good days than bad days thanks to this chair. P.S. My husband says this chair is terribly uncomfortable for men. ... show more

So I almost returned it, thank goodness I didn’t. When I got the chair I was really impressed because it’s such a nice chair, well made and super sturdy, it rolls like a dream. I hadn’t quite got my desk made so I was trying to use it at my dining room table (for doing nails) and it was just too tall. I was super disappointed and started a return on it. I got my desk done and installed at my shop, and was noticing my old chair was just a tad too short, so I took the saddle stool down and low and behold, it’s perfect! And the best part is, I can get up after sitting 2 hours to do a set of art nails, and be able to walk without the hip pain I normally have after sitting that long in an office chair. So if you are trying to use this at a desk, the desk top needs to be at least 32” for it to work comfortably. If you can work with that, this is a really nice, really sturdy and really comfortable chair that can help alleviate hip and back pain. ... show more

I have a pinched nerve in my spine, but I have a desk job. Over the past few years I've been working with my doctors to treat the pain, and a big part of that is good posture and ergonomic products (sit/stand deck, ergo keyboard and mouse, etc). I got this stool because my sit/stand is higher than a regular desk, and I thought the saddle seat would encourage good posture. It definitely does all those things! It's also VERY well made. Solid metal components and very easy to assemble. Casters roll smoothly, even on carpet. Please refer to pics: product description in regard to height is inaccurate. Stool height with fully extended piston is more like 28 inches (not 29.5 as advertised). You also loose an inch or two when you sit down (normal compression), so you're really at 26-27. Most importantly: this chair is REALLY uncomfortable to sit in. I realize that is a very subjective criteria to give a one star review, and I feel a little bad about that. However, I don't think my experience is unique. Not sure if it's the foam in the seat, if the density isn't high enough, or what. I'm just saying: BUYER BEWARE. ... show more

Tried this as an alternative to an office chair. I wouldn't want to spend more than 3 hours in this chair though. For a short stay, this chair is incredibly comfortable and rolls very well thanks to its high-quality wheels. After a little while in the chair, I start to wish there was more padding in the seat. The chair's back support slides down if it's not tightened firmly, and it loosens very easily when reclining. Putting the chair together was very simple! It took me less than 10 mins. ... show more

I'm no stranger to unconventional seating. I prefer things like knee chairs or stools, that keep my spine straight. I hadn't used a saddle stool before, but I took a chance. (During COVID, this wasn't worth the risk of in-person shopping.) When it arrived, I wanted to like it. It's well-made. It was good for a few minutes each time I sat on it. Then the pain would start. There are bones in my undercarriage that just COULD not bear my considerable weight pressing down on that saddle horn. The hubs and I are kinda junior makers. I decided to try and hack it into something that would work. When I removed the cover, I discovered the problem. The saddle horn was both very wide and very high. See photos. We sawed a big piece of it off. Then I discovered That the original foam wasn't enough to fill out the cover which had been held up by the horn. I stuffed it with a lot more foam, and stitched it back up. Now it looks vaguely diseased because of the lumpy foam, but it's very comfortable. It still has a saddle horn, just much LESS of one.
